Nope that's not true. The air bending nature made it easy foe Aang to enter the avatar state flawlessly.
Are you forgetting he was in that state when Zuko kidnapped him at the Northern water tribe? That wasn't the defence mechanism avatar mode (same as he got when he almost drowned and got preserved underwater for 100yrs), it was premeditated and the real deal.
Aang was a master at connecting with the avatar spirits.

It was in battle mode that Azula struck him, thereby severing the connection.

And Seun is right. Korra's character is difficult to empathise with. I still love her and this journey though.
It's remarkable how each avatar master and conquer their weaknesses.

If you want freedom, you've got to take it. I have a dad like that...he'll be happier if I spent 24hrs in my house on a weekend and restrict movement to just work. Doesn't happen though because I made it clear that I have every plan of meeting human beings outside my house undecided

Bit of friction at first ....no that's lie. LOTS of friction at first, but I set personal curfews for myself to earn his trust and over time he has come to respect that I am a woman, not a child of 5

Oh there's still the occasional, "you came home by 8pm thing lol, but I always apologize if I went to see friends. And if not I just say I was held up in traffic tongue

Just to make him feel in charge and ease up so I get my way.

Point is, if you want it then you have to take it. It's easier to ask for forgiveness that to ask for permission wink

And err bring one friend home once, let your folks meet her. If she's good, they'll trust your judgement more

Enzo was right about Stefan though. The former might be a cold blooded killer, but the later is just as bad too. He'll place people in a position to be killed, or at least see them there and yet do nothing about it. It's a lot like Elijah who has to wipe his hands after killing people.
When Stef was the ripper, he'd attach the limbs of his victims back in place out of guilt. Now he has found a better way: Just let someone else handle the shitty business.

......Because when it comes down to it, the lives of humans will always be less important than vampires.

You know, within social circles it is considered rude to insist on engaging people--or trying to--when they've expressly stated their displeasure.
I know the internet provides invisibility cloaks to everyone, but it isn't enough reason to abandon decorum.
Currently you're no different from the random guy who insists on being a chatterbox at a party, with the distasteful habit of cutting in on people's conversations, giving opinions when they haven't been asked for, and generally being a nuisance.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
You're saying the green light is very biological, not something women control because they are not always aware they're emitting these frequencies, right?
You used animals as an analogy. Say when the females are ready to mate, they make it obvious (feral calls and all that pheromones other animals can smell). Then the males come, pop their colors and let her make a choice.

If this isn't a conscious move, rather people acting out biological scripts, why the hell do men take it that she has a particular interest in any one person? For all she knows, you all (everyone who picks the signals) fall in one category: Possible mates if you fulfill whatever criteria she's set.

When she's playing out the script, they name her a flirt.

When she starts kicking applicants off the list, she's a biitch, and playing with people's feelings.

When she decides some are keepers but not mate material, then she is a serial friend zone-r.

You want to explain why?
