LeslieChow: I personally have no reason not to believe the statement by Aero. Reason being that I know how Nigerians no matter how educated are impatient when it comes to certain things.
Some of them would have reasoned that since we are already at Bauchi we may as well find a way to get off this plane.
If you have ever been on a local flight, you would notice how passengers start to scramble to get off the plane before it comes to a complete stop.
I am not saying the act is justified, just saying that I would not doubt that the passengers decided to take that action on their own. Interesting. So they carried their bus mentality to the air too Nigerians and impatience tsk. |

Bauchi state government refuse to be held liable. FAAN refuse to be held liable. AeroContractors refuse to be held liable. Now the passengers are to blame? The joke of a country |

erico2k2: I cnt write some lengthy statement cos I'm in a location which restrict me.however talking of China every most manufacturers of the world have factories in china cos of cheap labour and stable govt. Is it Samsung. LG. Be. BMW. Mercedes. Nokia.u name it.its a way of lowering their overheads. It's Business not politics. The ban a we eat in lo don comes from south America. Greece is the largest producer of olives but Germany is the largest exporter of olive oil reason being it's cheaper to process the olives into oil in German than Greece once again I say business not politics. Never said 'twas political. |

Everything else aside, he is right about th importation. We import a lot of unnecessary items especially from South Africa you begin to wonder if there are no companies in Nigeria. But then again when you look at the high cost of production in the country (esp with respect to overheads and our epileptic power supply) you realize it's cheaper to import than to produce.
Take for instance Unilever's Sure. About a year ago it was sold at #450 and imported. Today, importation of the deodorant has been banned, and Nigeria's substitute, Rexona sells for #700 -- that's twice the price of the imported substitute.
With an unfriendly business climate, what entrepreneur wouldn't be interested in making decisions and taking options that reduces his business risk? The average business man would rather travel to China, employ cheap labour to manufacture his goods and import back to Nigeria. That's a lot cheaper when you consider the cost siting a factory in Nigeria-- There's the bureaucracy in acquiring land. Tax officials breathing down your neck. Epileptic power supply. Unstable political/Economic climate. Crime. Generally the cost is blowing off the roof.
Mr Emefiele and the government will do well to improve the business and investment climate in the country before banning imports. They'll also have to provide infrastructure and palliatives to cushion the most vulnerable in the country, because when this ban on importation starts a lot of people will be unable to afford even the basics. |

groundnutoil: A woman takes her 16-year-old daughter to the doctor. The doctor says, "Okay, Mrs. James, what's the problem?"The mother says, "It's my daughter Darla. She keeps getting these cravings, she's putting on weight, and is sick most mornings."The doctor gives Darla a good examination, then turns to the mother and says, "Well, I don't know how to tell you this, but your Darla is pregnant-about 4 months, would be my guess."via GIPHYADVERTISEMENT"Pregnant?! She can't be, she has never ever been left alone with a man! Have you, Darla?"The mother says, "Pregnant?! She can't be, she has never ever been left alone with a man!Have you, Darla?"Darla replies, "No mother! I've never even kissed a man!"The doctor walked over to the window and juststares out it. About five minutes pass and finally the mother says, "Is there something wrong out there doctor?"The doctor replies, "No, not really, it's just that the last time anything like this happened, a star appeared in the east and three wise men came over the hill. I'll be damned if I'm going to miss it this time!" Hilarious |

Career › Re: How Do You Cope When Sacked? by UjSizzle(f): 11:19am On Dec 18, 2015 |
Never been sacked but I think having a backup plan while working will serve you well. Keep aside a sum of money while between jobs for financing your expenses while you search for another one. Meanwhile ensure that while in your current job you've made reasonable efforts to improve yourself-- that way when you make the switch, you have more to offer your new employer. |
