So why are you bothered about infant baptism? Keep contradicting yourself sir
i just said this to say that baptism does nt save. As one can be baptised and latter backslide and become a pagan. Baptism by immersion is the right way to be baptized all other ways are fake. |
ROMANS 6:3-4 For surely you know that when we were baptized into union with Christ Jesus, we were baptized into union with his death. 4 By our baptism, then, we were buried with him and shared his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from death by the glorious power of the Father, so also we might live a new life. Amen!!! So if you take burial as a parallel with immersion, that is something you have ADDED to Scripture. Jesus was buried but was NOT IMMERSED in the ground. He was laid to rest in a tomb which is ABOVE the ground. How does it sound when your pastor proclaim that a burial metaphor must mean immersion, when Jesus' own example of a burial excludes immersion into the ground?
shallow thinking. Cant u see the connection between christ burial and baptism in those verses of scripture? Just as christ is buried in the earth so we are buried with him in baptism into his death. Immersing one into the water symbolises his burial in the earth while bringing one from the water symbolises his resurrection. U are only intending to bring logic to manipulate and twist that verse as the catholic normally do. Since without twisting they cannot defend their lies. I am use to all their tactics. |
EZEKIEL 36:25-27 I will sprinkle clean water on you and make you clean from all your idols and everything else that has defiled you. 26 I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart. 27 I will put my spirit in you and I will see to it that you follow my laws and keep all the commands I have given you
ha ha funny. Is it spiritual water or physical water that God is talking about? Hw is the baptism jesus instituted connected to these veres of scripture? Had any apostle of jesus done baptism by sprinkling? True or false? |
Sal C: Lol you don‘t want me to join?or u always ask silly questions. |
Nigeria should hv gud luck o. |
Some Nigerians need to be delivered from cave mentality. Could u imagine such nonsense in this 21st century? Some people need to go and make their home in Pluto. Nonsense. |
POPE II: Grow upgrow down |
Sal C: Isn‘t it even dumber to see a sensible adult ask if infants are part of the household, or did the bible state that the household were baptised without the infants?does d bible say infants are part of the houshold. Does an infant hv the capacity to believe the gospel and in christ? D answer is no. I know u must come. Why dnt u leave us alone na. It is one on one thing ok. Till others will join. |
Do you know St. Paul was baptised in a house? ACTS 9:17-19 So Ananias went, entered the house where Saul was, and placed his hands on him. “Brother Saul,” he said, “the Lord has sent me — Jesus himself, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here. He sent me so that you might see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 At once something like fish scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he was able to see again. He stood up and was baptized; 19 and after he had eaten, his strength came back. Can you explain the kind of immersion that was done here? So, unless this house was submerged in water, it's hard to imagine how he could have been baptized by immersion. Additionally, thousands of people in Jerusalem were baptized in one day after St. Peter preached. ACTS 2:41 Many of them believed his message and were baptized, and about 3,000 people were added to the group that day. So logistically it would have been impossible to immerse all of these people. There simply wasn't enough water in the ancient near east.
you must be very funny to think that that scripture shows that paul was baptised in his house cos he must have been in sitting position before cos he was blind and have nt eaten for 3days. So after he was prayed for and received his sight and eaten some food he stood up and was baptised. Does the bible say it was in his house that he was baptized, the answer is no. He must have stood up and went with Ananias to a river where he was baptized. So pls say another thing. Who told you that it was impossible to baptize 3000 persons in a day? And does the bible indicate that there was no enough water there? Even if there was no enough water, does that implies the available one wont be enough to baptize 3000 persons? Pls tell a different story ok. |
In the bible, only believers who had placed their faith in christ were baptised-as a public testimony of their faith and identification with him(Acts 2:28, Rom 6:3-4). Water baptism by immersion is a step of obedience after faith in christ. It is a proclamation of faith in christ, a statement of submission to him and an identification with his death, burial and ressurection. With this in view, infant baptism is nt a biblical practice. An infant cannot place his or her faith in christ. An infant cannot make a conscious decision to obey christ. An infant cannot understand what water baptism symbolizes. The bible does not record any infants being baptized. Infant baptism is the origin of the sprinkling and pouring methods of baptism- as it is unwise and unsafe to immerse an infant under water. Even the method of infant baptism fails to agree with the bible. How does pouring or sprinkling illustrate the death, burial and resurrection of christ? It certainly does nt. Baptism does not save a person. It does not matter if you were baptized by immersion or what have u- if you have not first trusted in christ for salvation, baptism(no matter the method) is meaningless and useless. Water baptism by immersion is a step of obedience to be done after salvation as a public profession of faith in christ and identification with him. Infant baptism does not fit the biblical definition of baptism or the biblical method of baptism. Infant also was nt mentioned in all d household that was baptized. All must hv been at the age where they could believe the gospel and be baptized by immersion. I hope my point is clear enough. |
Why are all my request and complaint ignored. If any of my thread is hidden pls unhide it. Thanks. |
Pls try to be asking question that makes sense and is relevant to the issue at hand. |
You've ignored all questions I asked you here. Anyway since you've said the bible never made mention of infants among the household, are you also assuming there were no infants? MARK 1:9 Not long afterwards Jesus came from Nazareth in the province of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan Jesus was baptized "in" the Jordan River Does your pastor baptize all of his members in the Jordan River? If not (and I seriously doubt that he flies all of you to Israel), then why does he take parts of the verse and say, "This is what it means!" but ignores the other parts? Congrats for shying away from my previous questions
i am always fed up with those dump question the catholic ask atimes. Does the question u ask now make any sense. Was everyone baptized in the bible baptised in river Jordan? Who told u that a little child is unsaved, so if a little child dies nw, he or she wil go to hell abi? If the bible does nt mention an infant as part of the household, while should u assume that an infant was among. U are nw using ur senses then? Isn't it? |
macof: www.nairaland.com/1544427/seun-want-pagan-traditionalist-mod/2#20030460u must be out of ur mind |

What do u mean by river Jordan? |
Are you baptised? When, where, why & how were you baptised? Did you go to River Jordan to get baptised? I am waiting. And what is contrary to God's word?
i hv been baptised. And the baptism was by immersion according to the word of God nt sprinkling. |

Kay 17: ^^there is nothing wrong with those scripture. Intimate thought and masturbation go hand in hand. Masturbation is an unclean habit which true christians dnt involve in. It is a form of sexual perversion. |
Kay 17: @OPthe word of God says hell is real. And anyone whose name does not appear in that lamb's book of life will be cast into it. As u can see from the scripture in my first post. U hv to believe the word of God. Those who dnt believe will definitely perish in hell. |

Why do the catholic do baptism by sprinkling instead of immersion. And also, why do they baptise infants. Why do they like going contrary to God's word? |
I am present. Space booked. |
