Politics / IPOB Deputy Leader Replies Ohaneze Ndi Igbo President, Nnia Nwodo by UltimateCycle: 12:40pm On Aug 23, 2019
IPOB DEPUTY LEADER, UCHE MEFOR REPLIES OHANEZE PRESIDENT NNIA NWODO.

WE ARE NO LONGER MOVED BY THE LITANY OF LETTER WRITINGS AND NEWSPAPER PUBLICATIONS.

We disagree with Nnia Nwodo's latest deceptive tactics and vehemently oppose those defending Ekweremadu and by extension the political class and the socio-cultural organisation, individuals and groups in that school of thought who are advancing excuses that these leader's have been doing things queitly and behind the scenes. From this weak defence, it is obvious that these leaders are afraid of coming out in the open to defend their people. Leaders who only work in secret and behind the scenes are not leaders. What are the leaders from the East afraid of before their contemporaries from the AREWA North? Why are they not proud to champion the cause of their people in the open and in consistent fashion? We want overt and not covert advocacy! This lily-livered approach by our politicians including Ekweremadu have been responsible for the humiliation and threats to life that our people are facing today from our oppressors.

The excuse by a number of them that they wrote letter on issues and led a delegation once in a while on those issues affecting our people and thereafter went to sleep is a very poor and debilitating excuse which is not enough and at best smacks of unseriousness, lack of political will and docility on their part.

The consequences of these inactions have been responsible for the reason why our people are not respected by our oppressors because they our leaders are not strong willed, they lack the mental toughness and capacity to sustain long a fight for social justice. There is no sustainability, no commitment and certainly no consistency!

This culture of insensitivity is the reason why almost every Igbo politician will always want to publish an article or position paper on an important burning issue (not for continuity) but for the purposes of fronting or calling it up in the future as a defence against accusations of inaction such as what you are seeing now from the likes of Ekweremadu, South East governors and Nnia Nwodo. We to remind them that we all know about those type of games but what about taking up the fight, the causes on a sustainable and consistent basis?

For us, the era of letter writing and newspaper publications without corresponding sustained and sustainable actions has come and gone. This is because that is a perennial weakness in us that our oppressors are exploiting.

Lack ability to commence a cause and see it through is a drawback we are prepared not to condone anymore. For instance, what did Ekweremadu and co do about the killings in Biafraland of Biafran youths, the operation python dances, Fulani herdsmen, the tagging of IPOB as terrorists and same with Nnia Nwodo and South East governors? How many times have we seen them at the EU parliament, British Parliament, American Congress, United Nations protesting these injustices if they are indeed serious about the welfare and security of our people? The same one or two south east governors claiming that they don't know anything about operation python dance were seen flagging off the ill-fated criminal exercise in pictures and therefore, one is forced to ask: what is a sitting governor got to do with operation python dance of the army? Conversely, we saw Nnia Nwodo on a video that started circulating online on 21st August 2019 pledging under oath to Fulani, AREWA NORTH that he, Nwodo, will fight anybody that attacks Fulani Herdsmen in the East. Sadly, as Nwodo was slavishly and subserviently making that pledge to the Fulani, the same Fulani Herdsmen mowed down a woman in Nwodo's backyard, Enugu State and protest was ongoing.

What exactly was Nwodo's rationale and justifications, what must have led this latest betrayal of Igbo Biafran cause in the circumstances? Can you now begin to appreciate the problems we have with these leaders claiming to be representing our people? Do you see, why for us, consistency is the buzzword and sustained action does the magic? We cannot be deceived anymore, we want human face put to these, we want moving images of actions added and not mere letter writing. We want leaders take ownership of leading of the causes against ill treatment of our people. There shall be no respite for any of the representatives of our people who depart from these.

Finally, we reiterate that we have profound respect and regards for our elders but not treacherous, deceitful and stupid ones.

Politics / How Ike Ekweremadu Instigated Operation Python Dance In South East. by UltimateCycle: 3:38pm On Aug 19, 2019
Before IPOB launches attack against anyone, they have full intelligence report on the activities of that person. 80% of Igbo politicians are monsters, if you know little about these Igbo politicians and their activities against our people you will lead a revolution against them.

The below statement is pure fact, truth and nothing but the truth.

IKE EKWEREMADU CHIEF CONSPIRATOR OF PYTHON DANCE IN SOUTH EAST.

Aiden Dillion wrote:

Ike Ekweremadu is the chief instigator of Operation Python Dance in South East. Even when Aso Rock was reluctant to launch the attack, it was Ike Ekweremadu, the Zaria born Joe Nwaorgu (former Ohaneze Ndigbo Secretary), Nnia Nwodo and Arthur Nwankwo that pleaded with Abba Kiyari to launch the attack. They assured Aso Rock that Igbo traditional rulers and senior clergy will support the Nigerian Army which was exactly what happened. Archbishop Chukwuma of Anglican church was a prime mover too.

On the 15th of September 2017, compromised Igbo men gathered at Nike Lake Resort at the request of the governors. The meeting was to give their official endorsement of Operation Python Dance and to condemn IPOB leadership. If not for the likes of Archbishop Anikwenwa and four other traditional rulers, the motion to condemn IPOB would have carried the day. In the end they settled for a compromise.

Ask yourself why is it that Igbo leaders never condemned Operation Python Dance?
Every traditional ruler and senior clergy that attended Nike Lake Resort meeting to bury IPOB received nothing less than paltry 500K. These are verifiable facts. If Ekweremadu swear an oath that he knows nothing about Python Dance he will die on the spot.

Don't take my word for it, ask Ike Nwachukwu, Guy Ikokwu, Ndubuisi Kanu, Prof. Amucheazi, Archbishop Chukwuma, Arthur Nwankwo and they will confirm what I've said here.

Politics / UN Expert Says Suspension Of Nigeria's Chief Judge Breaches Human Rights by UltimateCycle: 4:28pm On Feb 11, 2019
GENEVA (Reuters) - The suspension of Nigeria's most senior judge by President Muhammadu Buhari broke international human rights standards on independence of the judiciary and the separation of powers, a U.N. expert said on Monday.

Buhari, who was a military ruler in the 1980s and was voted into office in 2015, is hoping to win a new term in a presidential election scheduled to take place on Saturday.

The chief justice could preside over any dispute over the election result. Nigeria's judiciary has helped resolve electoral disputes in past votes, some of which have been marred by violence and vote rigging.

"International human rights standards provide that judges may be dismissed only on serious grounds of misconduct or incompetence," said Diego Garcia-Sayan, the U.N. special rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers.

"Any decision to suspend or remove a judge from office should be fair and should be taken by an independent authority such as a judicial council or a court," he said in a statement.

Garcia-Sayan, who is mandated by the U.N. Human Rights Council to investigate legal and judicial independence, said dismissing judges without following legal procedures or offering a chance to contest the decision was incompatible with the independence of the judiciary.

Buhari suspended Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen on Jan. 25 following an order by a tribunal on public officials' conduct and replaced him with Ibrahim Tanko Mohammad.

But four courts superior to the tribunal had already ordered a stay of proceedings and the tribunal had previously said it lacked jurisdiction over cases involving judicial officers, Garcia-Sayan said.

The U.N. statement said some of the judges and the defence lawyers involved in Onnoghen's case had been subject to serious threats, pressures and interference.

Politics / NBS Data Show That We Are Making Progress – Buhari by UltimateCycle: 3:53am On Dec 22, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari says the recent data reeled out by the National Bureau of Statistics show that his administration is doing well.

Buhari said this on Wednesday during a Gala Night organised by beneficiaries of the government’s Anchor Borrowers Programme held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

The President followed the announcement on Wednesday by the NBS that the number of unemployed persons of working age had risen to 20.9 million.

He said that statistics from the NBS had confirmed that his administration’s policies were yielding results.

Buhari said he inherited “a broken system in the agricultural sector in 2015.”

After hearing testimonies from some rice farmers, the President said, “Seeing your faces and hearing your stories give me hope. Today, we are on track to achieving an all-inclusive economy.”

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, had said Buhari had ordered the Statistician-General of the NBS, Dr Yemi Kale, to change the high unemployment statistics and reflect the rising rate of employment in the agriculture sector.

Shehu said during a recent meeting with the Federal Executive Council, Kale admitted that the NBS was only focusing on the creation of white-collar jobs and not the agriculture sector and the informal sector.

“Rice Producers Association of Nigeria made the open claim and nobody has challenged them up until the time that we speak, that they had created 12 million new jobs,” Shehu had said.

Kale, however, denied ever making such a claim.

The United States Department of Agriculture World Markets and Trade had said last month that Nigeria imported three million metric tons of rice in 2018.

The US report had said the import figure was 400,000 MT higher than the quantity of the product that was imported in 2017.

The report also stated that Nigeria’s local rice production dropped from 2016 to 2018 compared to the situation in 2015.

The report ran contrary to several claims by the Nigerian Government that local rice production had increased while importation had dropped by up to 90 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in the forthcoming 2019 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, has blamed the rising unemployment rate in the country on the strategy of the Federal Government.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, Obi expressed sadness that a lot of ordinary Nigerians had continued to degenerate as shown by the unemployment rate released by the NBS in Abuja on Wednesday.

The NBS had on Wednesday indicated that the country’s unemployment rate had degenerated from 18.8 per cent in 2017 to 23.1 per cent in the third quarter of 2018.

Obi said that urgent steps needed to be taken in order to stop the downward trend.

He said, “They (government) are getting it wrong. If they are getting it right, the number would have been reducing. The whole approach or economic architecture is wrong. There should be areas of concentration. There are areas that you need to sincerely support which is not happening.

“In 2014, the overall unemployment and underemployment rate was 24 per cent; now it is 40 per cent. Then, the unemployment rate was 12 per cent. It moved to 18.8 per cent. Now, it has got worse. So, we need to do something aggressively to start turning things around.”

He added, “The 2019 elections will be strictly about the issues that concern the ordinary Nigerian – issues about the voiceless 87 million poor people that are living in Nigeria, issues about millions of unemployed Nigerians.

“How do we start pulling those 87 million people out of poverty and how do we start ensuring that millions of unemployed Nigerians get jobs? So, when you see that the situation is worsening, you get sad. So, for me, the first expression is sadness.

“Then, what do we do aggressively to ensure that we start turning things around? That is the issue.”

Asked to speak on the 12 million jobs that the Federal Government said had been created in rice farming, Obi said more rice farmers should reflect on higher productivity and lower prices.

He said, “You can have 15 million rice farmers but rice is still expensive. The more people that get into rice production, the more rice we produce and the more the price of rice goes up. It shows that there is a disconnect. If we have 10 million rice farmers, the price of rice should have been coming down.”

Obi added that in rice-producing nations such as Thailand, rice was not only available but also affordable.

The PDP also said the claim by Buhari that his administration was doing well, given the NBS report was incorrect and untrue.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Diran Odeyemi, in a telephone interview with one of our correspondents, said Buhari’s government had increased poverty, unemployment, insecurity and misery in the country.

He said, “It is unfortunate that the president of a whole nation can come out in public and tell an absolute lie to citizens who are suffering the effect of his maladministration. The NBS gave an accurate figure of unemployment in Nigeria and the poverty level. And here we have a President telling an open lie.

“I urge Nigerians to respond by their Permanent Voter Cards, which is the weapon to correct the mistake of this administration and the mistake of electing the All Progressives Congress into government.

“They should elect (Abubakar) Atiku as the President who is prepared and ready to put smiles on their faces with a thorough economic plan and a system that will ensure that poverty is eradicated in the country and that youths are gainfully employed.

“The claim of Buhari that the government is making progress or doing well is an absolute lie.”
