Ghana is a debtor country. Foreigners and foreign loans and aids run your economy. You don't have an economy. Economy of just Lagos state(one state out of 36 plus Abuja FCT) is more than your economy. DEBTOR ECONOMY GHANA. Ghana GDP=$39. Debt=44%

We will make Ghana ungovernable - NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it has picked intelligence that the national security is planning to arrest some party leaders over their ongoing protests.
Supporters of the party are staging series of protests as they challenge results of last week’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The party claims results in some constituencies were inflated by the Electoral Commission (EC) to favor President Mahama.
General Secretary of the party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John said the party will make the nation ungovernable if the security agencies attempts to arrest any of its leaders.
“If they make the wrong move by arresting any of our officers, they will know no peace and this country will suffer for that", Sir John said adding “we are not scared to be arrested but if they try to arrest any of us we will make this country ungovernable.”
Meanwhile, Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, John Boadu has condemned attacks on journalists by some aggrieved NPP supporters.
A number of journalists have been attacked by aggrieved supporters of the NPP since the EC declared the presidential results on Sunday.
Some supporters have accused the media of colluding with the ruling government and the EC to steal the verdict of the people.
John Boadu in an interview with XYZ News, said such attacks on journalists are unwarranted.

Guitarlife: Thanks I'll do that. But can you drop a hint on how am supposed to go about it when I get to their office? You know I am interested n the technical position but seeing quite a number of positions would be available for grabs and considering that I'll be spending alotta dough to travel down to Lagos with the risk involved too, I was hoping I could get enough info before stepping out. Thanks for your time.
u don need to travel down. get a relation/friend staying in lag. email d cv to him/her and d he/she goes there to drop it for u. at d gate the security guys will collect it. let him/her tell them technical. simple

1supremo:
I don't think so; lots of technical guys have already been transferred to Ghana: they'll have to complement them with new guys from Ghana. I guess that's why they have been recruiting massively in Nigeria for a couple of months now: to cover the vacant posts left by the guys redeployed to Ghana..
the ones transfered to ghana then were rollout guys, not technical guys. Infact, most of the rollout guys have been redeployed back to naija because their job is done now. What d coy urgently need now are technical guys(site maintenance guys) to maintain d sites. Inside info guy

Statement: NPP disagrees with E.C declaration of results

The Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Afari Djan, this evening made a declaration on the December 7 presidential election, declaring President John Mahama as the winner with 50.70% of the valid vote.

As the New Patriotic Party leadership made it clear to him earlier this evening, in a meeting requested by us and called by the National Peace Council, with the other political parties in attendance, we have serious reservations about the validity of what the Chairman of the Electoral Commission has done in declaring results that, by the evidence, do not reflect the mandate of the required majority of the Ghanaian electorate.

The National Chairman of the Party has accordingly convened an emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of the NPP on Tuesday December 11 to lay out the steps that the party will take in light of these events.

In the meanwhile, we are calling upon all NPP members and supporters to remain calm.

......signed......
Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie
General Secretary of the NPP

248 constituences declared out of 275. John mahama 50.24% nana addo 48.20%. To win, you need 50% plus 1 vote otherwise there will be a run off. The crisis started when it was alleged that d ruling ndc party has hired some isreali and chinese to interfere with d results as they are coming in from the regions before they are transmitted to the electoral commission. Apart from one or two issues like when some thugs invaded odorkor collating centre and burnt some ballot boxes, the election has been generally peaceful. But the greatest test will be after the result is finally announced in few hours time. No need for insults guys

Sincere 9gerian: Some persons have painted a picture of of paradise on earth when Buhari ruled this country between 1983 to 1985. For those who didn't witness that period, the article below summarizes what happened in that period.
Muhammad Buhari , Muhammad also spelled Muhammadu (born Dec. 17, 1942, Daura, Nigeria), Nigerian military leader and politician, who served as head of state (1984–85).
Thank you my broda for that. Buhari, an islamist who openly said muslims should vote for muslims only can NEVER be the president of Nigeria. Wny did boko haram name him? Buhari is a Boko haram leader/sponsor/sympathiser
Educated largely in Katsina , Buhari took military training in Kaduna as well as in Great Britain, India, and the United States. He was INVOLVED in the military coup that ousted Yakubu Gowon in 1975 and was appointed military governor of North Eastern state (now Borno ) that same year. He WAS APPOINTED federal commissioner for petroleum resources BY Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo , who became military head of state when Gowon’s successor, Murtala Mohammed, was assassinated in 1976. By 1977 Buhari had become the military secretary at Supreme Military Headquarters, which was the seat of government. By September 1979 he had returned to regular army duties and commanded a division based in Kaduna. Although elected government had returned to Nigeria in 1979, dissatisfaction with what the military perceived as corrupt politicians led to another military coup on Dec. 31, 1983, and Buhari was chosen unanimously to be the new head of state.
INSURMOUNTABLE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS plagued the Buhari regime as petroleum prices collapsed in the face of EXPANDING FOREIGN DEPT. Buhari instituted austerity measures that caused SEVERE HARDSHIP to the average Nigerian. In addition, POLITICAL CORRUPTION CONTINUED unabated, with politicians escaping to Western countries with millions of dollars in government money. In an effort to STOP DISSENSION, Buhari instituted restrictions on the press, political freedoms, and trade unionists.
By August 1985 even the military had had enough, and Ibrahim Babangida took control of the government. Buhari was detained in Benin City but was released at the end of 1988.

Zambia is a very strong side. They have defeated Ghana twice this year. Nigeria have to be careful. Ghana don't stand any chance to win afcon 2013 becos they don't have strikers. Their only striker Gyan is playing primary school football in the middle east.

The Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Restore Order in Borno State yesterday promised to give a reward of up to N290 million for anybody who can give information that will lead to the arrest of Imam Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, also known as Boko Haram and 18 others.

The JTF placed a bounty of N50 million on the head of Shekau and N25 million each, on the heads of four others who were said to be members of the Shura Council (the overall decision making body of the group).

They include Habibu Yusuf (AKA Asalafi), Khalid Albarnawai, Momodu Bama and Mohammed Zangina.

A reward of N10 million was also placed on the heads of 14 other suspects, who the JTF described as Boko Haram commanders.

They include: Abu Saad, Abba Kaka, Abdulmalik Bama, Umar Fulata, Alhaji Mustapha (Massa) Ibrahim, Abubakar Suleiman-Habu (AKA Khalid), Hassan Jazair, Ali Jalingo, Alhaji Musa Modu, Bashir Aketa, Abba Goroma, Ibrahim Bashir, Abubakar Zakariya and Tukur Ahmed Mohammed.

A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sagir, the spokesman of the special task force in Borno State said Shekau and his allies are wanted in connection with terrorist activities particularly in the North East Zone of the country.

“They are wanted in connection with activities that led to the killings, bombings and assassination of some civilians, religious leaders, traditional rulers, businessmen, politicians, civil servants and security personnel amongst others.  They are also wanted for arson and destruction of properties worth of millions of naira,” the statement said.

It added that anyone with information that will lead to the arrest of any of the suspects will have the stipulated reward.

“Anybody with relevant information should contact the following GSM numbers 08064174066, 07085464012, 08154429345,” the statement said.

Weekly Trust reports that the JTF’s strategy of giving monetary reward to informants adds a new perspective to the imbroglio between the federal government of Nigeria and the Boko Haram insurgents.

Observers say the decision has also foreclose the much taunted dialogue option which many people believe remains the most viable platform that will end the crisis.

The crisis has so far claimed the lives of thousands of people and crippled the economic fortunes of most of the northeastern states.

Shekau took over the mantle of leadership of the sect from Mallam Mohammed Yusuf, the leader of the group who was allegedly killed by the police at the height of the crisis in 2009. http://weeklytrust.com.ng/index.php?opti
