PoliticsPenetrate Nigerian Market-President Mahama Of Ghana Urge Ghanaian Private Sector by Umunede(op): 4:18pm On Mar 06, 2013
President John Dramani Mahama has called on the private sector to take advantage of the good relations between Ghana and Nigeria to penetrate that country’s market.

According to the President, “It is easy to notice the massive investment the Nigerian financial sector has made in the country’s financial sector. Several Nigerian banks are represented in the country’s financial market.”

He therefore called on Ghanaian businesses to also follow the example of the Nigerian private sector and seek opportunities there because the Nigerians have a much larger market.

President Dramani Mahama made this known when he cut the sod for the construction of rLG’s $10 billion Hope City project in Accra.

He said Ghana and Nigerian are part of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) and have signed numerous protocols that guarantee the free movement of their people across their borders.

President Dramani Mahama said they were working on the formation of a Costume Union that will harmonize efforts of the two countries, admitting that their progress have been slow.

However, he said, “I am comforted by the action of the private sector of the two countries. While governments are slow in making our integration happen, the private sectors in the two countries have seized the initiative and are dragging governments forward by force.”

The President said while government will continue to work to create the harmonized custom union zone, the private sector should continue to take the lead and move the two governments forward.

“Mutual investments in our various countries will push government faster to fast-track the sub-regional integration projects,” he added. Source www.ghanaweb.com

SportsRe: Inordinate Fanfare About Eagles' Victory. by Umunede(m): 6:28pm On Feb 28, 2013
Serendipity: I am no football aficionado but was particularly stoked by Eagles' victory. I was equally excited that the government and philanthropists like Dangote appreciated them for making us proud.

However, at a time in the continnum, the appreciation and attention became excessive when compared with that we give to achievers in other fields of human endeavour like education.
We have indubitably relegated these other areas to the background.
For instane, lately, the best student in WAEC exams was given 40,000 naira. Such paltry pittance, though laudable, cannot constitute enough incentive for other students to aim at such feat.
The best Nigerian Law School student in October 2010 was Mr. Chinedu Victor Okpala. While conferring with him, I learnt that he was given only a plaque with no farthing attached to it. Were this kind of feat to be achieved by someone in entertainment or other field, he would have been handsomely rewarded. MTN. GLO and ETISALAT would have made him an ambassador.
My stance shouln't be miscontrued. It was apt and felicitous that the Eagles were rewarded. But I think the thing is becoming excessively overmuch with millions, houses, renaming of stadium etc.
I think this kind of incentive should be put in other sectors for 'virtu media stat'.
what this victory has done to the image of our nation, those other things can't do. Can't u see that those ghanaians and others like abrantie and petrodollar don't insult us again. We are now respected all over africa as african champions
me thinks the reason they supported the SE against CIV was because CIV they believed was their biggest threat in that competition, and if Nigeria should win CIV then they would win us in the finals as they've always been.No be say dem like 9ja.
infact after we beat Mali and b4 they played with burkina, they were boasting everywhere that they will win us in final. D defeat to burkina pained them like die. Our Yansh: The Christian Arm of PDP doing what they're paid to do.

I won't be surprised if they hire some miscreant to attack El-Rufai and then claim they're Christian fanatics.

CAN has truly failed Christians and have become a disgrace to Christianity. They should stop speaking for Christians and should speak for the PDP and Goodluck Jonathan..

0lumide: How can we now prob Jonathan for coming on live TV to say MEND didn't do it even though they did?

Did all the Niger Delta violence make people saying "Buhari is a terrorist" not vote for Jonatha?

Why isn't Jonathan seen as a terrorist? Jonathan came openly to defend terrorists. Buhari never did anything of such.

We have put a secessionist in power. That is our problem. We have put a man who has no deep passion for Nigeria's success.

JONATHAN MUST GO!!!!
