Please, we need the prices of goods and services to come down and the value of the Naira to rise so that our money can buy much of our needs. Also if we are serious about the fight against corruption, it should not be about the past regime. Let it be all inclusive including what has transpired in the past two years. Otherwise, thieves would be running into the ruling party for cover. God bless Nigeria. |
Christianity Etc › Re: What Does Grace Mean To You? by UnchangeableGod: 9:05pm On May 28, 2017 |
Grace is unmerited favour. It is divine help to do or achieve what naturally we couldn't have done or achieved on our own. Specifically, it is the ability to weather the storm of temptations without falling into it. Grace is not a cover for sinning. Rather it is the ability to overcome sin by virtue of what Christ has done in the life of the believer. Thanks. |

Sapiosexuality: If it tribalism here, it is not your place to solve it. You can't solve it. You are not in position to. It appears you are one of those profiting from the hate business. I am not claiming to be is in a position to stop it. It is like a preacher. He can only preach, he can't convert. I think our leaders should be in a position to achieve this, to an extent. Alas, they preach so much love and unity but their actions divide rather than heal. |

PoisonedOne: Ethnic bigotry thrives because we're mentally unstable (our mindset in Naija is very weird) , we lack tolerance and civility (the fact you don't like someone doesn't mean you can't respect him), religiously bankrupt (we don't practise what we preach; we often find Christians wishing their perceived enemies harm as if that is what the Bible preaches).
I think our main problem is our mindset ; there are so much at stake. We lack so much rational upbringing with most of us thinking others hate us. I am on the same page with you on this. |

Well following your line of thought: We cannot be one until igbos stop crime and all manners of vices they engage in within and outside the country, thereby smearing our"family" name and bringing us disgrace. There you go again. I thought the Igbos are saying they don't want to be one family with you any longer. |

EmekaBlue: Since when is Aboki insult? I thought it means *friend Sir, it depends on the context. It depends on what leads you calling one or people from the North an aboki or abokis. Is it a friendly discussion, a commendation, a statement of fact without negative insinuation or an outright castigation of one from that region or their people as a group? You should know. |

Alcatraz005: The country is on the verge of a major realignment and the Igbos are insulting the yorubas with renewed vigor without facing the Hausas who are the main obstacle to the much needed restructuring. The yorubas can't be expected to sit back and get insulted for something they know nothing about.
We have agreed that the Igbos should be allowed to go for peace to reign. I assure you that the Yorubas will fight the Hausa tooth and nail to allow the Igbos go. This is not 1967. From what I have read, both sides (and other ethnic groups too) are at fault. It is also possible that some who are neither of the two major southern Nigerian tribes (considering that this is a faceless forum) pretend to be of one of them in order to continue festering the feud. Enough of ethnic hatred both on and off-line. This is my plea. |

tokodekehinde: Let love reign all the way... Let's believe in the sanctity of humanity and the bond of togetherness in the midst of cultural diversity Thank you very much sir. Whether we are to stay together or be apart (as God wants it), it does not call for hatred and animosity. After all, some of us are into inter-tribal marriages. So we have in-laws from all divides. We equally have friends and associates from other countries and races. Say no to tribal hatred. |

I have observed that some people's pastime on nairaland is spewing ethnic hatred. Some cannot make a simple comment without giving it an ethnic colouration. Everything is seen from a bigoted point of view. To say the least, this is shameful, disgusting and nauseating. I am not inferring that we should not voice our differences. It is not out of place to offer a divergent opinion but such should be made with decorum without insults and ethnic tag. All these trading of insults on IPOB, Afonja, Aboki, Almajari and all such nonsense are not sensible in my opinion. Please, enough of all that. I have this feeling that some are paid to attach ethnic undertone to every opinion that is not in favour of their paymasters. Let us stop supporting such with our likes and favourable comments. Silence should be the best answer. You can differ but do so with maturity, without insults and ethnic/religious innuendoes. God bless you all. |

I think Ngige and co are just trying hard to impress their masters thinking they may be considered for vice presidency. |

jargo89: You dont agitate by making street threats to any government anywhere it the world without consequences. Isnt it better you guys channel your intentions through your government representatives in which a referendum can be voted for?
And stop with the Yoruba hate; even as Christians, you shld knw it is wrong. Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Efik, etc.; we were all created equally with unique xters by the Almighty. Denigrating a whole tribe is denigratin the hand work of God. For your information, I am not one of those who hate Yorubas. Hatred for anybody or tribe is sin. The government representatives you talked about will not do it because they are presently "eating the crumbs from the master's table". How are they sure they will be able to get same privileges if Biafra becomes a reality? BTW, how many are these 'government representatives'? Are they up to 1% of the population of Igbos who want out of Nigeria? Intimidation and threats cannot stop the agitation. Only justice, fairness and equity will. Thanks. |

jargo89: Listen carefully, no one wants you to stay. But you are not acheiving anything typing into this forum. Make the right moves. Stop blaming yorubas for not allowing you to breakaway, when you guys are not even making any move. Yorubas either dont care or are neutral. Few yorubas reside in the East, so how will they be affected. My own opinion is: Implore you leaders and make the right move. Are you really sincere? No one wants Igbos to stay yet they are threatening fire and brimstone, arresting and detaining agitators? What is your definition of right move sir? |

ikp120: They're asking for an exit, which is 10000000% their right. Referendum is a right, not a privilege.
But what the VP is thinking about is war. Britain didn't fight with EU to exit. Scotland nko? Etc. A guy of his caliber should call for Referendum instead of sounding the trumpet of war which only exists in his head.
Bro, the Igbos have learnt, but the rest of Nigeria, including the VP, has not learnt from history.
The Igbos are doing all they can to leave. Please is it by force to remain in a nation?
Even Texas and California were once calling for their exit from USA. It's not a big deal bro. I wonder o. How does the desire of a people to be on their own automatically mean war? The Igbos must be so important to Nigeria then. If you need me, plead with me to remain. Don't threaten or try to scare me. It won't work. |

Lex11: No personal judgment... as only GOD is the Judge -
"This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless." - 1 Timothy 3:1-10
Being honestly rich/wealthy is not a sin of itself... but the love of money is. How much does one and his family truly need? What we tend to see is the insistence of some on taking the whole pot, instead of in some moderation... and dispersing the rest to those who need. I concur. Well spoken. |
