Frankyboy1:You are correct. However, your error is singling out southsouth politicians, the governor of Rivers State and members of the state house of Assembly. You shouldn't have fallen into that temptation. People will assume you have an oxe to grind with the people you mentioned. Moreover, you have no evidence against them which is tantamount to character assassination. Cultism is a general menace among most politicians and the elite not just in Nigeria and Africa. |

deomelo:Sir your ipob refrain is becoming boring. Isn't it ironical that the same Kalu that is still on trial was sponsored by the same party purportedly fighting corruption and today he is a Senator elect. We know how long it took the government after so much brouhaha to do something about Babachir (although I still see it as window dressing). The days coming will prove me right or wrong. Yes, governor Umar Ganduje of Kano State, a member of the ruling APC and a known Buhari supporter enjoys immunity. But did Ayodele Fayose not enjoy immunity when this same EFCC commenced his case? What of Udom Emmanuel and Samuel Ortom of Akwa Ibom and Benue States? Why is EFCC investigating their governments? Do they not enjoy immunity too? Is it because they are in the opposition? Then most recently is the case of the now out of favour governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State whose Accountant General was arrested by the EFCC. Does he not enjoy immunity too? Are these not proofs that this government employs double standards and uses the so-called fight against corruption for political vendetta? The defenders of this government should be able to win prizes on hypocrisy. 1 Like 1 Share |

BabaAduras:You are wrong Sir. I do not support financial crimes in any way. The point is that most politicians in both sides of the divide are into financial crimes. My grouse with this government is that they came with the promise to fight corruption without any sacred cow. But is that what they are doing? Our President should be total in this fight with clear evidence so that those who commit financial crimes will not be running to the ruling party for cover. He will not be there forever. Whatever he is doing now is a precedent that will be referred to years to come. My 'wailing' is for corruption to be totally eradicated and not used for political advantage. Don't be one-sided in the case of prosecution of financial criminals otherwise you are a hypocrite. Thank you. |

deomelo:Stop the crap. That is window dressing my friend. You forgot the Oshiomholes, the Amaechis, the Tinubus, the Fasholas, the Babachir Lawals, the Timipre Silvas, the Orji Uzor Kalus, the bribe taking Gandujes, the pensions man to mention but a few are enjoying government protection and sponsorship. I don't know about Igbos. I am in love with justice, equity and fairness. You seem in love with injustice and hypocrisy and use 'Igbos' to deflect the point. Your EFCC oga's message is clearly understood. The current president will not be there forever! |

atobs4real:No corruption is being corrected as the ruling party members and supporters have a free ride to do anything and go scot free. Some government appointees need to keep their positions and that is only guaranteed if this government remains in power. IMO, this message is a coded one and the judges understand. Collect from the ruling party and favour us and you are not corrupt, since we are the enforcers. QED. |

deomelo:Are you not on the side of hypocrisy? Who doesn't know that the current government and their agents say one thing but do another? Who doesn't know that their pontification on corruption is against the opposition? Can you beat your chest that APC in their desperation will not bribe judges, that is if they have not been doing that? Is vote buying that has been favouring them not bribery? What has happened to the buyers and takers so far? |
Politics / Re: EFCC warns tribunal judges, lawyers against stolen funds by UnchangeableGod: 10:11pm On Mar 07, 2019 |
BabaAduras:Stop the pretence. We know the antecedents of the ruling APC and their agencies. We know how they have been hunting the opposition members claiming they are 'fighting corruption' while so many corrupt people in their party are protected and are being supported to run for elective offices. The APC seems to be so desperate to cover up their rigging and any desperate person can do anything including bribery. If the judges and lawyers collect such from the ruling party, nothing will happen. But if they collect from the opposition, EFCC will pounce on them. |

JJOF:Forget about the failed promises of baba 'integrity' including that of fighting corruption. I knew it was all a ruse. How do you expect PMB to fight those who used public funds to sponsor his election in 2015? How are you expecting the President to fight the corrupt bigwigs in his party who he is heavily relying on to achieve reelection? His best bet is what he is currently doing - fighting the allegedly corrupt in the opposition who refuse to decamp to the ruling party and making a lot of noise of it including media trials. The second aspect is receiving and baptising decampers from the opposition who he and his party once demonized as corrupt, turning them into overnight 'saints'. 1 Like |

ProudDick:Did you say 'honesty?' I will check my dictionary again. May be 'honesty' means denial of promises, telling lies, ruling by propaganda, threatening people to give up their ancestral lands or die, selective corruption fight, partiality, vindictiveness, shielding of cronies from prosecution, nepotism, tribalism, vote buying, etc. You are hoping on rigging, intimidation of voters and the opposition by security . Let us see how it goes. |
