Ovamboland: Sit down there, when will Obi address the USA travel ban and money laundering allegations against Atiku?
Is Atiku the kind of person a whole Obi should be hobnobbing with? My friend, there are lot of accusations against both Atiku and our current president. Some of those accusations are politically motivated since they only crop up once a person indicates interest in an enviable office and thus become a competitor. However, the courts are there. While not holding brief for Atiku, my advice to you and your likes is that if in your opinion, Atiku is not qualified to hold the highest office due to whatever, the courts are open to hear you and determine the matter. Not holding brief for Obi equally, but don't you think it is hypocrisy for our whole president of famed integrity to see it normal and morality right to hobnob with Atiku four years back but now, it is 'wrong' for a whole Obi to hobnob with same person today? What has suddenly changed, if I may ask? |

fyneguy: Please leave me alone. You are free to ask God to make Obi President in 2023. Your choice, not mine! Mind your business My friend, the God I know is a God of justice, equity and fairness. His will alone will be done in Nigeria. Let us stop using His holy name to support hatred, tribalism, ethnocentricism and divisiveness. Moreover, let us learn to vote for leaders based on performance. We should send a clear message that we Nigerians have matured above primordial ethnic sentiments. If we vote based on performance, our politicians will sit up and fulfill their promises. Otherwise, they will continue to kick us like football since they know we are still susceptible to ethnic and religious fault lines. God bless you. |

SaintLucia: Oh you want your people to become the President in the same country you referred as ZOO? Ko le work. Do you know what the Southwest said about Nigeria after the injustice of June 12, 1993? Maybe, you were not born then. Do you know what the Niger Deltans did to our oil wealth as a result of injustice and killing of Ken Saro Wiwa and eight other Ogoni leaders? However, the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo, a Yoruba from the Southwest and Goodluck Jonathan, a Niger Deltan helped to create a sense of belonging for them in the Nigerian project. It does not mean that every problem in the Southwest and Niger Delta have been solved because their sons had gotten to the highest office in the land. Not at all. But it shows that there is indeed the true feeling of One Nigeria for them. Part of Nigeria's problem is self-centeredness and ethnocentricism. I hope we come out of it. God bless Nigeria. |

34webers: [s][/s] Crap. Which performance has pdpigz been campaigning with? Is it their concern about why apc has not launched its campaign that is performance based? Or the shout that osinbajo should bury his ambition? Pls which performance based campaign has pdpigz been running? Rather, the PDP is capitalizing on the failures and unfulfilled promises of the much hyped government of change and integrity to campaign. My simple message is that if a government fails, we vote them out and continue doing so. This will send a clear signal to our politicians that we can't be tossed to and fro with winds of ethnic and religious sentiments. It will make our leaders to sit up and do the right thing. Thanks. |

abbey621: Most of what you just stated happened under PDP also, so who is the saint, who is the sinner? Can you confidently say most of these things would not happen under Atiku? If we are all honest with ourselves, we would know they are all birds of a feather, so no need for fear mongering or baseless rhetoric! I can't say if these evils occuring in this administsration will happen or not under Atiku. It is when he gets there, we will know. If he does same, let him be voted out until we get it right. My message is that we eschew tribalism and vote based on performance and fulfilment of promises. Once our politicians know that Nigerians are not sentimental but vote based on performance, they will sit up and not take us for granted. God bless Nigeria. |

Felixv: Nobody will put a chain to your neck and drag you to the polls to vote — your constitutional right is to vote for whom you deem fit
Also every man is guranteed freedom of speech under our constitution- so prof can say what he likes — APC 2023 and beyond.
If the Ibos play their card right who knows?, maybe they would be able to field a candidate under the APC.
But life is about give and take — you have to give something.
He who pays the piper dictates the tune. The speech is unbecoming of an educated Vice-president who doubles as a pastor. If 'playing one's card aright' is to vote for a government that watches as citizens are brutally massacred, that wants people to give up their ancestral land in order to live, that refuses to obey court orders, that goes against political opponents while supporters run riot, that refuses to take responsibility for its actions, under which poverty and joblessness has increased, that tries to suppress critics etc, then that is evil card. If one supports evil because of what he wants to gain, he might end up being a victim. Thanks. |

They are simply saying that people should be told to vote based on performance and not on account of tribe. They then predicted that based on perfornance, the Vice President and his boss will be voted out by Nigerians. As such, the prof. should bury his 2023 ambition Thank you. |

So it is not bitterness to call people pigs, thou Mr Pharisee? Why bring the name of God into your your tribalism, bigotry, hatred and bitterness? If with this your self-righteous bitterness, you think only Yorubas deserve the presidency in the South, then you must be self-centered and damn wrong! God is not partial neither is He tribalistic. PDP are nothing but sub-human kleptomanic cretins. Sir, don't try to distract us from the issue at hand. The point here is that the Vice President of (Yorubaland) sorry Nigeria, is allegedly telling the educated, exposed and sophisticated Yorubas to vote purely on ethnic grounds, instead of performance. It is not the PDP Sir, that is bringing him down here, rather his alleged bigotry and ethnocentrism, unbecoming of his calling, reputation and exaltated position. Thank you. |

ivandragon: & that's the problem.
as long as the politicians know that to curry favour, all they have to do is join the party in power & they would enjoy their loot in peace, then there can be no progress.
APC is worse because they always parrot the anticorruption slogan yet, they are custodians of corrupt practices. And that, to me is the game plan of the APC government of 'change' and 'integrity' - to frighten and intimidate politicians who have looted the country's resources into joining or remaining in the ruling party so that they can be secure to enjoy their loot while at the same time wearing the toga of 'saints'. Those who decide to remain or join the opposition are the only 'looters' and corrupt people, according to the APC doctrine. To make matters worse, there are Nigerians who see these hypocrisies on the part of the ruling party, yet keep on drumming support for them due to political affiliation, financial gains, ethnic sentiments and promise of power shift to their regions etc. The coming to power of the man of famed 'integrity' and the aftermath, shows that you cannot know for a surety who a person is until he or she gets into power. Let's see how it goes. God bless Nigeria. |

Politics › Re: Reno Omokri Blasts EFFC After Seizing Unionbank Money And Kept Quiet On Ganduje by UnchangeableGod: 3:54pm On Dec 23, 2018 |
ivandragon: I purposely did not mention any sitting governor.
a lot of PMB fans have a very wrong misconception about people (not partisan politicians) who critic the anti-corruption war.
the cases of double standards are glaring & what people want is a uniform treatment for everyone involved.
for instance, I do not subscribe to media trials, illegal detentions & other forms of intimidation the security agencies under PMB use, but if PMB feels that is how he knows how to fight corruption best, then fine. but let that same treatment be metted out to people in his own circle too.
the corruption under PMB is stunning, but unless another party takes over, we would only continue to see the tip of the corruptionberg... The PMB supporters know that it is so glaring that the president is partial in his so-called fight against corruption contrary to his initial pledge. They equally know he is using same for political advantage. This is why they try to rationalize this injustice by saying the opposition, if or when they come to power, should equally be selective in their own version of 'anti- corruption' fight. They believe it would be near impossible for the opposition to survive the current onslaught from partisan state institutions under PMB, let alone coming to power to probe and expose the skeletons in PMB's government of 'integrity'. Let's see how it goes. |

ivandragon: & what about Amaechi, BRF, Oshio, Aregbe?
do they still have immunity?
mind you, Fayose had his accounts frozen, houses marked, commissioners detained all while he was a substantive governor... This is a clear case of double standards. You forgot to add what the Benue State governor, who enjoys immunity, is passing through in the hands of the EFCC after he left the ruling APC for the opposition PDP, not to mention that of the current Akwa Ibom State governor, who also enjoys immunity. |

honor4me: SO TOUCHING!!!
PRESIDENT BUHARI SPEAKS LIKE NEVER BEFORE.
God knows my heart it is to assure you that I set Nigeria on the path that you will be proud of in the future.
There is difficulty while trying to bring change in the country, but we are trying our best, even our adversaries know we have taken the right course to set Nigeria on track, we offended these money bag politicians and they will never forgive us.
The offence is that, we have blocked all their taps they use for stealing, they now do not care if Nigeria will be up in flames, they can sell even the ashes and fly out.
They have focused on us now with all their might, they want to be allowed to destroy the effort we have made in straightening things so far.
They are not interested even in an iota of good for Nigeria and its people.
We have no choice, the choice belongs to you people of Nigeria, if you are confident of our efforts, you can vote for us again, so we keep building from where we are.
This will be beneficial to all and if you falsify us then go back to them (moneybag politicians) so they can destroy your future and the country at large.
But definitely you will remember I told you the truth and I have set you on the path of truth and I have lead you truthfully.
The choice is yours on the path of the nation.
I swear in my mind it is not about politics but how this country will turn out to be in the future.
President Muhammadu Buhari in Bauchi.

As a citizen of any country there are a number of institution you must respect, your national flag, the national anthem and your president. vote wisely PDP cannot rule this country again. If those who make laws for us are this stupid what reasonable laws could come from them. while they sang the national anthem some idiots were dancing. Politics › Re: Meet Atiku's Zonal Coordinator For The Southwest. by UnchangeableGod: 4:49am On Dec 20, 2018 |
Volksfuhrer: You missed the point completely!
Perhaps there are political motives behind certain arraignments of alleged looters, but only courts of competent jurisdiction can find an accused "guilty" or "not guilty." That is, the motives of the prosecutors are immaterial to the merits of any case against the accused; if there's no valid evidence, the accused will simply walk!
In any case, the thrust of my argument centers on the attitude of many PDP bigwigs and their co-travelers who believe that the corruption fight must not come at the expense of any economic indicator. Yes, in the short run, these negative impacts are unavoidable. But the long run effect is a more efficient society and more developed institutions upon which a much robust economy is built. So the corruption fight is a categorical imperative! Sir, no one is against the fight against corruption. The PDP you people erroneously accuse of being against the fight are the ones that created the EFCC and the ICPC in the first place. Corruption fight has also been going on before the inception of this current government. What people are saying is that the best way to succeed in fighting corruption is to put measures in place to make stealing and embezzlement a little bit diificut for people while focusing on growing the economy. Of course, thieves will still steal. Such thieves would then be sought after by the agencies in charge and dealt with according to law. But what is on ground is that the government pays so much attention to chasing suspects (those in the opposition) up and down and making so much noise about it, ostensibly to impress Nigerians of fighting corruption while so many citizens are losing their jobs, the value of our currency keeps on depreciating, the prices of essential commodities keep on rising astronomically, the cost of living getting so much higher, people dying of starvation etc. Majority of Nigerians are with the PDP on this. Initially they thought the APC controlled governmnt was sincere, but they now know better. Enough of entertainments and theatrics that do not put food on the table. Chasing rats in the kitchen when your children are yet to eat for days does not make economic sense. People are not fools except they pretend to be. Thank you. |
