This money was collected from Nigerians.
Just transfer fees and tax on SMS alerts are enough to generate more than this.
Nigerians have been subjected to multiple taxes.

Crude oil prices dropping means less forex for Nigeria and borrowing to defend naira with crude back loans
Where is the diversification buhari did in his 8 years administration?
I thought by now, we won't be depending on crude oil. From what I read few days ago, The money generated by FIRs from taxes is More than 10 times bigger than what NNPC generate and give the Federation account. Alot of things are secret to Nigerians.

Crude oil price drop should benefit Nigerians but less money for the Government.

PoliticsRe: Okpebholo's Shameless Excuses For Shutting Down E-gov Platform, A Telltale Sign by Unigrad: 10:00am On Nov 26, 2024
UdabaPrince100:
Okpebholo's shameless excuses for shutting down E-Gov platform, a telltale sign of a clueless govt

We read with surprise and deep disappointment the utterly ridiculous statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, where he laboriously attempted to justify the illogical shutdown of the Edo e-governance platform and the decision to revert the state's civil service operations back to paper files to run the government.

This irrational decision is not only shameful and regressive, but also an insult to the sensibilities of Edo workers and the people of the state. It further exposes the government's cluelessness and lack of the depth and knowledge required for effective governance and administration in the 21st century.

To be clear, the platform is operated by the Edo ICT Agency, a parastatal under the Edo State Ministry of Digital Economy, with the support of expert consultants, ensuring a digital and efficient system for government processes and operations.

However, the unprepared and clueless government of Senator Monday Okpebholo, having come into power through one of the most flawed electoral processes in the country, has since sacked most of the senior civil servants in the agency. As a result, the government is now hamstrung and unable to effectively run the e-gov system.

Had the government not embarked on the ongoing indiscriminate sack of civil and public servants in the state, the officials and workers responsible for this system would have been available to explain and train them on the process and functionality of the digital system. But what else can we expect from a governor who came to power through the backdoor? He is unprepared for office, in short supply of ideas, and lacks a clear vision to drive the development and progress of the state.

We also want to clarify that the allegations by the government that there is no institutional memory are completely false. All government memory and data are stored in the state-owned Data Centre, which was built and commissioned by the immediate past administration of His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki. The Data Centre is situated within the Government House compound, from where the Secretary to the State Government is dishing out his jaundiced statements, filled with lies and half-truths.

For eight years, the immediate past governor, HE Godwin Obaseki focused on nuanced policies and programmes to lay a solid foundation for the State, placing it on the path of progress and prosperity. We advise Okpebholo to follow this path if he doesn’t have a vision or plan for the state, rather than erode the progress that has been made over these past few years with his illogical and poorly thought-out decisions and policies.

Crusoe Osagie
Media Adviser to His Excellency Godwin Obaseki,
Former Governor, Edo State.
From the press release by Edo State Government, the platform hasn't been shut down, they want to do review to have full administrative assess and control.

UNIZIK Crisis: 500 ASUU-NAU members back Prof Benard Odoh, tackle Osodeke

By Our Correspondent

No fewer than 500 members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities( ASUU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University chapter, Awka, Anambra State, have expressed their Solidarity to embattled Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Benard Odoh.

This their Solidarity came yesterday at the time of the dissolution of the governing council of the university and the sacking of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Benard Odoh by President Bola Tinubu.

The concerned members of the institution's ASUU tackled the national president of ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke on his role in the whole saga.

Oblivious of the situation, Odoh himself was receiving various groups in his office when the memo sacking him was drawn to his attention.

He had earlier in the day received the director of the
Chinese team led by the Director of Confucius Institute, Nigeria, Professor Yu Zhangbao who promised massive investment in the area of promoting language studies of the Institute in Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

At about 3pm, a group of lecturers under the auspices of concerned ASUU in UNIZIK, addressed a press conference, during which they argued that it was pre-mature for the ASUU National President to say that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had met at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) in Abia State on 8th -9th November, 2024 and discussed the happenings at Nnamdi Azikiwe University over appointments of the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar.

In their statement, the concerned UNIZIK ASUU members said: "ASUU President and NEC members have lost it because such a matter has never been discussed at the NAU branch congress or Owerri Zonal meeting of ASUU and made available to members.

"So, how can ASUU NEC jump-pass a process to make such a decision that is now in the public space? We advise ASUU President to please, desist from ridiculing the image of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

"Is the ASUU President not aware that some ASUU leaders such as Comrade Kingsley Ubaoji, Comrade Dennis Aribodor and Comrade Ike Harris Odimegwu convened a Senate meeting outside the University excluding over 500 Senators.

"A draft recommendation from the meeting of the 24 senators convened by ASUU NAU leaders was forwarded as senate resolution to the Pro-Chancellor which resulted in the removal of Prof. Joseph Ifeanyi Ikechebelu and the appointment of Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi as the Acting Vice Chancellor.

"It is on record that ASUU NAU chairperson made a recommendation to the governing council which perfected the removal of comrade Ikechebelu- a bonfide ASUU NAU member.

"When has ASUU been given the responsibility of enforcing extant University laws regarding the appointment of Vice Chancellor? Appointment of VC in any Federal University is the responsibility of the university governing council. Hence, governing council appointed the current Vice Chancellor and the Registrar following due process and the extant laws of the university.

"Professor Benard Ifeanyi Odoh, with over nine years Professorship was appointed as the 7th substantive VC. To set the records straight, Professor B. I. Odoh was assessed and promoted to the full rank of Professor at Federal University, Gusau in Zamfara State in 2015.

"It is important to clearly emphasize at this stage that, the Joint Council and Senate Selection Boards for the selection and appointments of the substantive VC and Registrar of Nnamdi Azikiwe University were
legally and adequately constituted.

The Senate and other Stakeholders were adequately represented. The press release from ASUU NEC that internal council members were excluded from the appointments of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar is therefore, misleading to the general public.

"Full Council was summoned and actively participated in the selection and appointment of these two Principal Officers in question.

"Nnamdi Azikiwe University Governing Council led by Amb. Greg.Mbadiwe followed due process and extant laws of the university in the appointments of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar."

PoliticsRe: Why Enugu Government Imposed Tax On Dead Bodies – Revenue Board by Unigrad: 9:51am On Oct 13, 2024
They must say something to justify their actions. They can't agree to have made a mistake. If the mortuary owners pays, who will the person collect the money from? The relatives of the dead will pay directly to the mortuary owners while the mortuary owners pay to the government. More tax to the living.

What happens if I miss my induction day even if I paid, can I get my license later, I might not be able to pay for a suit to look proper or organizing a party however I’ve paid for the induction ceremony and was wondering what happens if I ghost the ceremony?
Also, you can't ghost induction or you can't do it on proxy. If you miss the one done in your school, you will have to look for other schools who might be inducting their students soon, you have to travel their to participate. I believe you will pay everything there all over again. Since you have paid for the induction in your school, better attend it oooo. You nor see money Cook not rent canopy and chairs are not necessary, they are just flavours. After the ceremony, take yourself immediately with pride so that people won't see you to request something from you.
That's all.
If you need any advice as regards this, let me know.

You don't have to ghost the ceremony because you have to be there to take the oath and sign the oath document. You don't even need suit to appear good. Wear a trouser, long sleeve with a tie. If you don't have a tie, you can borrow from someone. You will be giving a induction gown from your school, once you wear it on your cooperate wear, you are good to go. You not having money to cook or prepare for souvenirs are secondary. The most important is you being present with your cooperate wear, follow all the procedures of the ceremony, take your oath, temporary license, internship logbook and other things that might follow. It's very sweet if you are inducted in your school along with people you know.
