Try understand PDP party constitution. In PDP constitution, for a member to be suspended, he or she must be suspended by his party excuse at the ward, follow by party excuse at the local government before it's ratified by the state party excos. Currently in River State, Wike planted all his loyalists in all positions in river state. In river state house of assembly, he had 25 member loyalists. All his boys were in charge of the local government and even commissioners. How do you expect his suspension from the party to scale through when his is in charge? If not God that is saving the governor, he would have been impeached by now

Ideally, universities should be at the forefront of renewable energy adoption but it's a country where people don't practice what they preach.

Now, it will take billions of Naira for Uniben to fix solar that can power most of their things.
If you are used to solar, you will agree with me that it's not cheap as people claimed it to be. You will have to change batteries every two years because the more you use, the more the power goes down. Most of the solar panels and batteries in Nigeria are fake.

Before April 2024, their electricity bill was #80m/month which the university have been paying without owing. Due to band issues and increase of electricity from #66 per kwh to #225 per kwh, the price rose from #80m in March to #280m in April. If this kind of thing happened to your personal company, will you feel the impact? Uniben is saying the price should be reduced so they can afford to pay. It seems BEDC told them to pay the one they can afford to pay and carry the rest over, but Uniben is refusing that because if they do that, they have accepted the new tariff. This is not issue of owing and prepaid meter, is the issue of the cost. From #66 to #225 not too much?
If your house is in band A and you are being charged #225 per kwh per hour, you would have understand better.

It seems you guys don't read news before responding. Electricity per kwh per hour was increased from #66 to #225. Is that not a big difference? That's almost 500% increase. If their electricity bill was #80m/Month before, it's now #280m. How do you expect institution like Uniben to cope with this geometric increase? Now, if it persists, the university will be left with no other option than to increase school charges to meet up since subvention fund from the government hasn't increased.
You think this is an issue of prepaid meter?
It seems you don't know the issue of this band. People forcefully categorized as band A have disconnected from BEDC source because they will need #100,000 plus for electricity in a month.

I believed there are lies in that report.
These Obaseki security guys are terrible with drivers, they will hunt for you if you have not been settling them before, if they caught you, they will take your vehicle to their base, deflate the tyres, you pay #20-#30k, then use about #2k to pump the tyres from their tyre repairer. There are a lot of bus and car drivers working in an unauthorized places, these security boys ignores the because they do settle to load there, if you join them without them not knowing you, you are in trouble. Some of the buses that load passengers in an unauthorized places belong to these security boys. If they caught some and the driver play smart, he will quickly settle them with #5-#10k so they won't take him to their office, the boys that caught him will quickly share the money and clean mouth.
These security boys are millionaires especially those in busy locations like ring road, new Benin etc.
I am not supporting the actions of this driver if this report is true, if you see the way they manhandled drivers, you will pity them.
A driver that came out to look for daily food, you are saying him to pay #20k-#30k, where will he get the money from?
