This is an ignorant post.giv time as old stock has to go.price cannot be changed every week becos crude oil prices has changed.
Will you say this when the price of crude oil went up?
How come if there is price increase of crude oil, petrol products increase immediately while if there is fall in price of crude oil, there is excuses to reduce the price of petroleum products?
Well, I don't think you have a separate fuel station you are buying from. You and your family members are also feeling the heats.

If Nigeria is working, fuel shouldn't be more than #600/litre with the price of crude oil at the international market. Price of crude oil is about $70-$73/barrel. Nigeria Government and Oil marketers are finishing Nigerians.

PoliticsRe: IMF Asks Tinubu To Impose Fuel, Telecom Taxes On Nigerians by Unigrad: 6:58pm On Jun 14
nairalanda1:
Tinubu should listen to the IMF and do it, and if he doesn't , whoever is taking over should listen to the IMF and do it, alongside fighting corruption

I know people will abuse me, and will call me names for my opinion, so let me drop some facts.

Our budget this year is: 68 trillion naira

Actual revenue available to fund this budget is : 33 trillion naira
Deficit: 35 trillion naira...and to cover that deficit, that is where the loans come in.

Yes, oil revenue rose, but remember that we have a debt of about 150 trillion naira to pay for.

People like to abuse me on this site and call me agbadoe, but if it was Peter Obi, or Atiku in charge, based on what I know, I would give them the same advice. We all shout that we want government to stop borrowing, but when it comes to measures to stop borrowing, we suddenly become allergic to good advice

Tinubu is a bad leader, and I am not voting for him next year, by the way.

Nigeria has had this deficit problem for decades. Everytime earnings do not meet up with the budget, meaning we have to borrow. This is because of the fact that we rely on resources WHOSE PRICES WE DO NOT SET. We cannot set oil above the international price to fund our budget because our buyers will go and meet the cheaper option. Back when we had cotton, cocoa, palm oil, same thing. (Ghana some years ago raised prices of its cocoa to meet up with budget funding and buyers went to other countries, Nigeria included, to buy cheaper stuff).

Most of the rich and poor do not pay taxes, only people in formal employment pay PAYE taxes, and revenue from VAT was about 8 trillion naira , plus revenue from bank charges was around 4 trillion naira...for this budget.

And the 68 trillion naira is not enough for a nation of 230 million people. You can abuse me, but we are too big for the budget. And that budget is the money available before stealing and looting happens.

Y'all can abuse me, but we have to face cold reality.

Either we start listening to the IMF and fighting corruption, as well as improving taxation, or else, even if we vote Obi tomorrow, as i hope we all do, or Atiku tomorrow, or even Sowore, I guarantee that our debt would be 800 trillion naira in eight years time.

You are free to abuse me and call me names now, thank you. I no longer care.

If una no wan hear, then that means you should stop complaining about borrowing, because refusal to support improved taxation and anti-corruption measures means you support borrowing.

Again, I am voting for Obi next year, and in reality, I don't care about all your politicans. IF Obi fails, out he goes in four years, and so forth, until we get sane leadership. Maybe we go wait till the debt is 10000 trillion naira before we get our own MIlliei and LKY...it took Argentina to get into such severe debt that it was defaulting on payments, for them to wake up. Now their currency is strong and fiscal performance better, and eventually other areas will improve.
But this government has removed fuel subsidy and subsidy on electricity. Taxes have increased. There is taxes on calls and other telcom services. This Government have also borrowed more than all successive government. The looting is going on uninterrupted. This government is wasting resources. What happened to the coastal of #15trn-#16trn awarded? What has Tinubu achieved with all the subsidy money, taxes, borrowing, etc.
Just list is achievements that will make people to pay more taxes?
Instead of the government to stop looting and corruptions in the system by strengthening the system technologically to reduce corruption. IMF and World Bank are gaining from Nigeria corruptions. They borrow Nigeria money with heavy interest, join Nigeria government to force Nigeria to pay more taxes. Project fees or contracts are being inflated and given to cronies. Many end up collecting money and refuse to do the projects.

Hahahah, I thought the opposition are claiming they are better

Ordinary primary election, see the way they are accusing each other of rigging

Nigerians can never enter one chance with the co called opposition we have as they are not a better alternative to president Tinubu
David Mark was the Senate president for 8years and senator for many years, what did he do with the position?
Rauf Aregbesola was Governor of Osun state for 8years and Minister for almost 8years, what did he do with these positions?
Atiku Abubakar was vice President for 8years, he still remains the most powerful former vice President in Nigeria. Obasanjo gave his excess power that he was made to handle almost all the privatizations in that Government. He privatized NEPA to PHCH, electricity supply became worse. Nigerians are still suffering from that privatization till date. There is an information that Atiku is the major distributor of generator in Nigeria. All the privatizations he did were for his selfish gains.
No current crops of Nigeria politicians has the integrity to deliver this country from this terrible situation these days. All Nigeria politicians are self-centered.

The problem of Nigeria is not something any of the incoming candidates can solve infact not even peter obi.
The structure of the country itself won't even allow it to progress.

Current presidential system we practicing is too expensive.

What do we even need a bicameral legislature for?
Legislators should be working part time.

We should go back to parliamentary system of government.

We should a create a new constitution with stiffer penalties for corruption.
You are not being truthful.
Someone mentioned that #20trn was missing. Na bicameral legislation Miss am?
APC is selling presidential nomination and expression of interest forms for #100m while Governorship is #50m while other political parties followed similar suit. How many is the salary of a president and Governor in Nigeria?
The looting and corruptions are Nigeria problems.

This Atiku needs serious checks. It's political ambition is making him say rubbish. Why is he referencing 4th Republic?
He should reference the first, second and third Republic? He should also mentioned the military head of state. Buhari, IBB, Abacha Abdusalami Abubakar were also military head of state from Northern extraction. I didn't mention Tafewa Balewa: Primer Minister, Yakubu Gowon, Shagari etc.
If any southern vote for Atiku, they don't know what they are doing. Individual with religious bias. Deborah was killed by Muslim lunatics, he condemned it. He quickly denied it because he wants to pleases his people. Till now, her killers are still walking freely.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Picks ADC Presidential Nomination Form (Pictures) by Unigrad: 6:18pm On May 09
Avedonn:
Peter Obi does not fully understand the political dynamics in the North. The core northern states will not vote for a joint ticket with Kwankwaso, as they view Kwankwaso as a spoiler. Just observe carefully, how many states does Kwankwaso actually command followers in, aside from Kano and parts of Jigawa? How many politicians have defected from other parties to the NDC from the North since he left the ADC? The NDC has no grassroots presence in the North.

Atiku will also face challenges, as he may not achieve the required spread in the South. So, in my opinion, the odds favor Tinubu. Although he is not widely popular, his party has the necessary geographical spread.
Una political calculations dey bend oooo. What was Atiku votes from the North?
Na people like you dey give this Northerners ego.

PoliticsRe: Hope Uzodimma Removed As Progressive Governors Forum Chairman by Unigrad: 3:03pm On May 08
Guestmale:
You're wrong ,the supreme court didn't just dash Hope Uzodima the governor seat,he earned it.How? Wrongful Exclusion of Votes: The seven-man panel, led by the then Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, unanimously held that votes from 388 polling units were unlawfully excluded during the collation of the final election results.

Result Computation: The court accepted the results presented by Hope Uzodinma from the 388 polling units. When these votes (213,695 for APC and 1,903 for PDP) were added to the results initially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), it was determined that Uzodinma secured the majority of lawful votes.

Removal and Installation: The court declared Ihedioha’s election null and void, ordered the withdrawal of his Certificate of Return, and directed that a new certificate be issued to Hope Uzodinma, who was sworn in immediately.

The Governor you can say he was dashed the governorship seat is Governor Diri of Bayelsa state supreme court removed the real winner of the election and put Diri who came second because of discrepancies in the names of the real winner's deputy.
This happened a day to inauguration. The winner was already rehearsing when the judgement came.
APC messed up for not doing their screening properly.
