@OP The Police Command via an interview granted Punch Newspapers claim this story is false. Be absolutely sure of the pix above so yoiu do not cause panic in some homes. |
OANDO should make the scamming list too. Over 8 years since the IPO. From N95 to N18.50 now. All claims to Upstream and later Downstream yet the share price crashed. Evidently they got free money for fuel importation. Except for the last pipeline news. Will its price ever surpass the IPO value? Doesnt seem likely. I hope there personnel are well catered for? |
@Op Searay, Your pix shows those pupils need urgent help. Can you send details of school to: universalbets at gmail dot com. lets see how it can be absorbed on a mini project scale. You just might be their light. i am looking at a class by class basis. Some of my fellow engineers may key in also on a DIY self help project. We even encourage attachees to join in and gain some field experience. cheers |
Silverbird TV in Lagos last year aired the story of a whale that beached at Lagos Bar Beach. The report showed the whale been hacked to bits by lagosians on the beach. Recently their has been instances of whales beaching around the world. The difference here while Marine biologists were trying to research into this development our tommy here spoke first. I pray the whale had navigational issues and not dead on berthing. |
justwise: No player should be disqualified from playing for national team based on her sexual-orientation. If she is a talented footballer then that is what matters.@Justwise Your opinion here may as well suffice for the male team. While lesbianism may seem passable compared to those that are gay. You cannot ignore the law banning both. Professionally they are expected to abstain from intercourse while in camp. Allowing it may lead to indulgence and likely loss of stamina prior to games and others who are straight feeling cheated. |
Britain will be shooting itself in the leg if they see this through. As required revenue from student admissions will dwindle as they close those student visa loopholes. Interestingly it is indians and pakistanis that abuse UK student visa migration laws with all those offshore satellite campuses and one floor diploma colleges in britain often plied by their people to beat UK Border entry guidelines. I see honest applicants and migrants of African descent been affected the more. |
I agree with the OP. it is terribly hot. For me this is how i cope. 1. Most importantly drink more fluids to avoid dehydration eg Water, Yoghurt is good, the local kunu is also good. If you can avoid alcohol, even chilled beer later brings on the heat. 2. Wear light clothings. Avoid suits and neckties untiil you get to the office. 3. Wear lighter clothings. Keep a away from black. You are trying to reflect more of the sun's rays. 4. Wear cotton shirts. Avoid polyester or wool unless the wool top is breazzy in design. 5. For the ladies now is when to wear more of skirt or maxi. so you can keep everywhere airy. 6. Avoid temperature swings in your body AC-Hot-AC or the reverse 7. Avoid very hot meals now as available at amala joints etc 8. If you can wear a face cap or strawlike hat for the women folk. 9. Cut all office hot tea/coffee for now 10. Ensure you have a cold bath as close as possible to bed time |
@tpia Usually iread most posts objectively without responding given the trend of most responses. Almost got drawn into this one. Glad i had my parachute on. so i am bailing this flight. Au Voir! |
@tpia you will never change. Are you saying thankyou? or you are thinking of saying thankyou? Either way you are most welcome. |
@tpia I have read some good posts and responses from you on a lot of topics while sometimes you add conjectures to horn in a laugh which often makes interesting reading. @the person with the muslim id: i am already digging up facts on partnerships between Vatiican City and Riyadh. There are many good causes both faiths embarked on jointly especially under Pope John Paul II. in particular are the ones on PRO-LIFE and RELIGOUS TOLERANCE. One of the crown princes was in Vatican City in 2012 to meet with the Pontiff and discuss areas of mutual interest. Both faiths have there negatives. Go on Youtube you will see lots but it doesnt make me hate a muslim nor tolerate the failings in the church. Christ said and i quote"LET HE WHO HAS NOT SINNED CAST THE FIRST STONE" If Christ taught it fit not to Judge who are we again to judge. This does not mean we should now dwell in evil for God is a God of Justice. We do not have to stretch his mercy. Let us endeavour to do right always, value human life, help the less previledged and more. Be you Christian, Muslim, Catholic, Budhist, ECK, Mfm, Rccg etc. You cannot finish in this life all the good deeds required of you. Why do we then waste time hating. Do good - Pass it on and the world will be a better place for all. If it will help you understand my father is 83years old last January and has been through two comas and lots. of challenges caring for him more so someone who is responsible for more than One billion people. i rest my appeal for now. |
@All While the original Op's post is on track some response seem designed to either derail a thread or attract some frenzied response. He/she could have opened another thread but didnt. @peteregwu who drew this e-ramble is yet to respond further to all your responses or views. I plead you all sheath your swords and revert back to the topic and see if we can draw some possitives from Pope Bernedict the XVI decision to step down and what our expectations are for the next pontiff. If we also chose to think outside the box we look back historically and see if there are potential negatives so we can speak up now. I will try to highlight a few things in my next response. Thanks and peace to all. |
Pope Bernedict XVI has taught us all and world leaders how not to be sit tight rulers. He has ensured that he was in his right frame of mind and sound health throughout his papacy. He has ensured accountabilty to every word that came out of his mouth and every document he put his seal of office to. His understanding of his aging body vis-a-vis the requirements of his office leading to his resignation shows he has faith in the process that will produce the next pope. May God Almighty continue to abide with you until the time he has set. Benedicamus Domino! Deo Gratias! |
In 1976-79 it was fun watching Jonn Wayne, Vraadam and others at Glover Cinema in Lagos. Easter you watch events leading to Crucifixion of Jesus. Most people will be shedding tears in the cinema. If you were naughty, thick headed then your parents will take you to Bar Beach to witness condemned armed robbers tied to stakes in front of drums been executed by firing squad. The lesson was if you chose a life of crime you end up at the stakes. little did they know we will one day have those who will steal billions and only get a pat or even national honors as an icing for there deeds |
Now i remember our Crown Black and White TV bought in 1977 just before Festac77 began. Our father back then after work will remove the battery from the beetle car and connect to the tv for all to watch for two hours. i also remember one of my favorite uncles then who seemed so tall then and now short. Never knew then he was wearing bongo shoes under his maxi jeans trouser. What a laff!!! |
With all these nostalgic feelings how is Nigeria's future going to be ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Beyond communication what else is progressing ![]() ??We went to school with 1/2kobo which means you are a spoilt brat then. GOD BLESS ALL MY TEACHERS THEN FOR THE FOUNDATION THEY LAID. IT HAS REALLY HELPED ME. Holy Cross Primary School I - Lagos. All boys-All white with cortina by Bata: back to school |
May her soul rest in peace. Oh God in your infinite mercy grant her loved ones the fortitude to bear this loss. To cause this lady's untimely death this petty thief had to come and snatch her bag? So sad. I think the poster of the pix wanted to answer the question of source often asked here on NL. All this has been happening over the years; the difference is we now have devices to capture the events and mediums to share them - NL, twitter, fb etc. A really painful way to depart this world. In all we pray for let us remember to pray for long life and a peaceful transition for we know death will surely come but when? we do not know. |
