9jatriot: Who then communicated the meeting? I feel Saraki would have still won if APC did not go with a united front since he was always going to have his PDP friends back him up, but why play the treachery card, it simply reduces his person and credibility? I wonder how someone in Saraki's camp would have pulled such stunt that had Tinubu, Akume, APC governors and APC NWC members waiting for the president. The op is trying to absolve Buhari of calling for the meeting and looking for a fall guy to blame. Saraki would have won, 57>51 |

omenka: A lot remains to be heard of this entire episode. I'm not putting my eggs anywhere yet until the President speaks.
I don't know, but has anyone spared a thought to imagine perhaps, this was orchestrated by the presidency to ensure the inclusion of the SE in the bigger scheme of things since they would have been totally excluded had the Party's preferred candidate emerged??
Just a hunch though. "Has the president ever spoken before? " We keep hearing Garba Shehu speak and term it the President speaking . In the last tenure, the SW was never represented and heaven didn't fall. The sooner we know all these positions benefit only the persons occupying them the better for us |

chamboy: can u explain Saraki being unopposed because 51 members plus his main rival Lawan were not there when the election was held, with the numbers that conducted the election, PDP would have nominated David Mark and still win, but they decided to play safe. |

gajike: 51 apc senators absent. Only 57 present voted saraki. This shows dat saraki arm twisted tinubu. Absent or not. Saraki is now senate president. Pay back time for what acn did in tambuwal case. exactly. And some supporters are here shouting that APC played PDP. I wouldn't be surprised if Lai Mohammed comes later today to say bad about the election |

mascot87: The joke is on PDP. Ike Ekwerenmmadu was just selected to get Saraki the slot. NDUMA is next and you people will still cry dude quit all this APC played Pryor are saying. 57 members were present, Lawan and his supporters were absent, that was the reason only Saraki was nominated. APC was the one that was outplayed. Before the end of the day, we will surely hear what really went down |

a diluted government is still a change from the "Concentrated" government we have seen when PDP held sway in both the Executive and Legislative arms of government. I would even prefer an opposition as legislative to truly work the "Check and Balance" job without party interference

No ministers till further notice APC would have nominated Their candidates (femi and Lawan) and one PDP member ( mark and any PDP rep member) to reduce the bloc votes Saraki and Dogara would have got from PDP (making it a three horse race instead of two) instead they decided to postpone the election |

Welrez: What is govt business with personal matters? Is Kano State under a totalitarianism? Divorce should be as discretive as marriage. One should not be forced to stay in an uncomforting union. If Government can organize and sponsor MASS WEDDING for her citizens. After receiving the money from government as mass wedding whatever, they turn around and divorce each other and then wait for another roiund of MASS WEDDING to apply . So now government wan wise up |
