Long post alert!!

My timeline below. Now I'd be as detailed as possible because I drew a lot of strength from the timelines of others and hope mine gets to inspire somebody.

IELTS - 30/9/17 LRWS 7.5,8.5,8,7.5 FIRST ATTEMPT
IELTS - 14/10/17 LRWS 8.5,7.5,8,8 SECOND AND LAST ATTEMPT
ECA - 23/01/18 (IQAS)
ITA - 26/01/18

IP1 - 10/2/18
NA1 - 14/2/18
MEP - 18/2/18
NA2 - 21/2/18
IP2 - 27/2/18
PPR - 19/3/18

I started my ECA August 2017 after struggling to get my MBA result for masters I finished since 2015 so my battle started with getting statement of result first. Whatever your battle is it must pass.

For IELTS i used ieltsbuddy.com, ieltsessentials.com,ieltsliz.com. I used youtube mainly for listening cos after I had 7.5 for my first listening eye clear me and I had to burn that data and livestream practice modules.

ECA with IQAS can be crazy because the wait time is killing. I used them as I didn't want the wahala of going back to beg for verification especially as I no trust this NASU guys. They evaluated my Executive masters as canadian equivalent.

Now for POF I used Treasury bills certificate for about 70% of it while I used 25% of my pension fund to make up the balance. Half of the Tbills matured on 15th march sef and it had been running since October last year.
I didn't include my statement of account deliberately for personal reasons and I didn't also include any reference letter from the bank.

My employment reference letter is where my heart was thumbing as my employer look me for eye tell me say dem no go give me reference letter but God is not man and God pass man. You can imagine with 9yrs work experience. Thanks to post shared here I spoke with my immediate boss beg the guy tire and he now signed a reference letter on plain sheet, I notarized it and added his id card and mine. I included my to and fro mail with HR wey dem no gree give me the reference as evidence then included some work mails and payslip. I still dodge to include my account statement.

I had three UK visa refusals in the past, those guys almost messed up my self esteem but thanks to canada for my trouble God has given me double. I stated the refusals and included the refusal letters sef ( yea been keeping them since 2013 ). I also included schedule A.

For the passport for EAPR I didn't adjust nada na how I snap am for studio 24 in anticipation of PPR with the 50 mm x 70 mm dimension na so I upload am especially since the instruction said at least 35 mm x 45mm. I also uploaded my expired passport data page with stickers and stamp pages.

Now guys that's my story in summary and I hope it inspires someone that no matter the challenge facing you now in this journey be it ECA,IELTS,POF or awaiting PPR just remain focused,calm and prayerful and you would conquer. I never believed I would get PPR after 41 days despite all this my comma.

This thread has been immensely helpful and to think I read everything from thread 1 though I joined midway there, it can only be God. I encourage us to read extensively and do our own research too and as much as you can when submitting include every every.

Wonderful people too numerous to holla but God sees you all and would bless us in this journey.

Some highlights of my application includes;
1. My POF = T-Bills(3months) + Generic Bank Ref Letter + 6months SOA + Gift of deed (100% amount from direct family). My total POF is in the T-Bills, explained this in my LOE.
2. Proof of employment = Reference letter (included NYSC experience) + Pay stubs.
3. There was a mistake in my spouse's name on our daughter's birthday cerficate, so I attached an affidavit (confirmation of name) together with the document to clarify this. Also explained this in my LOE.
4. Educational documents= Degree certificates + WES. I didn't include IELTS certificate although I registered the certificate number somewhere else in my application.
5. My spouse hasn't officially changed her name so I submitted our application with her maiden name. Our marriage certificate was enough proof I guess.
6. Passport photos = We took our final printed photos (50x70mm) from "Study 24" ahead of time. I scanned and resized it to the required specification (35x45mm) (using MS software) and used it for Post ITA submission.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head and I hope it helps.

For those still hoping for better IELTS scores, please try again and give it all you have this time.
For those still expecting the silver mail, please be very hopeful. Try to improve your CRS, while in the pool if you need to.
For those still anticipating towards receiving the golden mail, it will certainly come!

Congratulations to all the folks that have received their medical letters and congratulations in advance to those wait-listed.

It has really been a journey of perseverance. I joined the thread during the SHL phase and was active even after the AC process; I was among those who were eventually dropped (post still-in-the-running) when a few people got wait-listed...it was really painful and I remember deactivating my Nairaland account and registering with another moniker.

A big shout out to LadyF, Airsaylongcon, SegunMike, IfyCyril, ToluTweety, the main oracle Dplacement and so many monikers that made this thread very interesting...

To the 'successfuls' with offer letters...I wish you the very best in NLNG...you have waited this long to reach the promised land...please try to make a positive mark in NLNG and excel beyond their expectations.

Yes i quite agree with you. But i really don't think prices would increase. the Canadian government even have a lot to gain with the influx of young and well educated international students so they would equally create soft landing policies that would motivate more international students.

In fact, the government can even decide to waive application fees for the countries affected by Trump's executive order. For example the University of Manitoba now waive such for applicants from those countries for fall 2017 admission, Check here

I'm even projecting the possibility of the government/institutions reducing the international tuition fees if consideration is given to the Canadian Federation of Students petition on the high fees paid by international students, just as stated on the link you posted.

My assertion is that Canada has a very large land mass and will continue to need more people, not just ordinary people but highly skilled and professional people with the potential of contributing immensely to its economy which is a win win situation for them.

They collect our international tuition fee, which adds up to their international inflow, and also create immigration policies (PR Route) that allow us to use the knowledge gained from their institution for canada's economic and societal growth.

It was January 27, 2002. I was preparing for Jamb then. My family went to my hometown for a relative burial leaving only me at home. After reading for a while, I decided to switch on the TV. I thought to myself that if it's any of those kids disturbing my peace, I will beat the crap out of them. Few seconds later, I heard another bang. But this time around the ground was vibrating. I said to myself, wait a minute, these kids can't have such power to bang and vibrate the ground. So I decided to go outside and observe what was going on. To my utmost surprise, I saw mammoth of crowd, everyone looking confused to what was going on. Then I went to the top floor of the 3rd house to my house which is a 3 storey building to have a better glimpse of what was going on. There I saw crowd of adults all speculating what was happening. Some said the military has overthrown Obasanjo, some said another civil war has broken out - Papa Chidi started talking about the ordeal of the civil war, and how he prayed never to witness another war in his lifetime, some said it was Cameroun fighting Nigeria because of Bakassi peninsula etc. Bro Dee came up with the most reasonable speculation that from his observation that he thinks it is an explosive factory that mistakenly caught fire and set up the chain reaction. While everyone was speculating what the situation is, Mama Mary out of nowhere with anxiety and fear written all over her face shouted let's start running to the 4th street away. Then I said how are we sure those people there are not trying to run to our own street. Bro Dee looked at me and said this young man is very intelligent. He told Mama Mary to calm down that we will continue to listen to radio to know what the problem is, then after we know what the problem is, we can strategize what to do next. After about 30 minutes later, we heard in the radio that it was a mistake from military cantonment that caused explosives to start exploding. Not too long afterwards, my pops eventually got through to my neighbour who he had tried to call like a million times in order to talk to me. He narrated what he heard from my hometown, and I told him I'm aware of the situation and everything is fine with me. I could feel panic in my mom's voice at the background (the fear of a mother). It wasn't until the next day that we heard of the bad news of how a lot of lifes were lost in the Oke afa canal. That day, I saw Mama Mary, and I asked her if she heard of the Oke afa tragic news, she said yes. Then I told her that can she see why it's not good to start running when you don't know what you're running from. She said my brother it is TRUE o. My heart goes out to all the family that lost someone in this tragedy especially the parent that lost all their kids. May God continue to condole them and may all the innocent souls lost continue to rest in peace. I pray we don't witness this kind of tragedy again in Nigeria

Moral of the lesson: Don't run when you don't know what is pursuing you, and don't pray for war when you haven't witnessed one before.

Service fee is even more than their agent college "acceptance fee". 100k acceptance fee sound like the guy want to use their money to buy land for village or perhaps arrange ticket for himself to travel.

Hello everyone
Pls am in a state of confusion right now and i will be so glad if you can help me out.
A friend of mine introduced me to an agent, in which i had a brief discussion with the traveling agent. He told me i will need to give him my WAEC cert, scanned passport data page, birth certificate and an 100k upfront to pay the school as an acceptance fee then we later talk about the amount am going to pay for his service which is 150k.
Please should i trust the agent and proceed or quit? Please ur opinion is needed

recently i discovered that many trv applicant profile on cic website aint updated and delayed infact the few who got approved got their trv after school resumption deadline while other had to reapply or defer since they couldnt meet up with resumption date even though i am aware that the processing timeframe was extended to 15 to 17 weeks or there about.
What's the way forward out of this problem?
Is there anything we aint doing right?
Am really concerned looking @ the rigors and documentation involved in getting an admission offer?
