Henry240: Inshore Patrol Boats, not Vessel.
It's an insignificant number, when compared to what the Nigerian navy orders from home. In the last 11 months, the Nigerian navy and JTF have taken delivery of over 213 inshore patrol boats. Only 9 units of that number was purchased from abroad, every other unit was delivered by a local contractor. So in essence this deal was based purely on patronizing the Sri Lanka's. |

Iblawi1: It's in small number compared to what is produced at home. Does it offer any special capability from the ones being produced in Nigeria locally? I mean why take the money out for minor hardwares like patrol boats if it does not possess any capability not seen on our locally produced ones.(that are fantastic) Then again my opinion won't even count. |

VocalWalls: 1,000 Roman soldiers coming from every side will defeat 10 modern soldiers who have no other support.
Remember there are shields, horses and chariots, how fast would the modern guys reload? 10 seals with automatic grenade launchers and miniguns would cause the romans so much damage that they would call the battle off. To make it even more sporty the seal team would be seated inside an tracked IFV with a remote controlled weapons station Goodluck piercing that with arrows, spears and slings

Foreign Affairs › Re: Could 1,000 Roman Soldiers Face 10 Modern Soldiers? by upko1: 11:14am On May 14, 2016 |
VocalWalls: by the time the roman soldiers get to a distance where the bullets can touch them, then be ready to dodge the arrows ans spears. That is the fun part, they won't get up to 500m, the seal team would be shooting API rounds which happens to be unlimited 900m away at 58 rounds per second It would be a sport for the seals given their highly rated marksmanship ability
|
Foreign Affairs › Re: Could 1,000 Roman Soldiers Face 10 Modern Soldiers? by upko1: 10:56am On May 14, 2016 |
Recommended weapon of choice for the seal team would be a mini gun with unlimited ammo

LTGEN: Do you know that the money was actually recovered, or do you need to interview the person who built the third septic tank Incomprehensible I would share your not so funny jokes, if the former CAS had not actually returned the money. Ukpo it would even funnier if the Current CAS was banned from any significant posts because he refused to steal money. And has insisted only brand new Equipment or G2-G2 Can't make head or tail of this as well In light of you continuing, on a political rant you should be very loud in praising since the non stealing previous administration The past administration perfected corruption no doubt. Let's be clear on that. brought in 6 years two Helicopters and two aircraft, I also found that very funny that the NAF was fixing 1960bombs on Alpha Jets, because they were well equipped. 2 helicopters in six years, is better than none in more than a decade. NAF fixing dud bombs on old alpha jet relics is also the fault of the past government?!?!?!? Lol somebody check this guy. Meanwhile

I am assuming the Chinese built Wing Loong 1 UCAV is among the unmanned air assets Nigeria possesses though I haven't seen any picture of one on Nigerian soil or in its airspace.
Thanks again. Only UCAV I'm aware of is the CHseries. |

rugged7: Those are not BHT They are clearly fulani herdsmen/ irregulars Their mode of dressing and the languages being spoken there gives them away BHT predominantly spoken kanuri; fulani irregulars- fula/hausa Buhari himself has confirmed that they are fula herdsmen In fact even if he wanted to call them BHT he couldn't cause he's boxed himself into a corner by saying he has technically defeated them BHT = Terrorists The guys in that video are TERRORISTS as well. The name they associate themselves with or the way they talk, walk, fork or chop doesn't matter, it's the act. |

M14A1: The video on the frontpage of this forum is troubling. People kept mistaking those terrorists for herdsmen, the curtains are now rolled for all to see them for the terrorists they are. What is Nigeria waiting for? This is not something you solve with one or two patrol Hilux. The further they penetrate the south, the more people become uneasy, it wouldn't be long before we start hearing tribal clashes. |
