bejeiodus:Your proposal is possible only if OPEC is controlling the majority of oil supplies. As it is now, it won't dear losing its market share. In summary, OPEC alone cannot control oil price through demand and supply chain. 1 Like |

mmsen:Which food? Can you mention another food we import majorly aside rice? Where is you beans, onions, pepper, yam, grains and the rest coming from? Those that import are the doing so for production purpose but those you see in the market are majorly from the North. You may claim they are hungry or couldn't feed themselves but the truth is they are still the food basket of this country. In case you are mistaken, I'm a Yoruba guy from Oyo- what we do here is to finish our farm produce once and we fall back to the North till another season. |

ericsmith:I guess people are still importing rice but without any responsibility from the CBN to give you dollar at official rate and the duty is somehow hug- the reason why it's expensive. Do you know how much Naira will be now to a Dollar is rice is still freely entring the country? May be 600 naira to a dollar. Nigeria don't have enough dollar for international transaction and this cause trade deficit in term of dollar- that's where problem of Naira-Dollar thingy will set it. Don't mind my use of terms. Just saying what I know. |

Inspectahdeck:How are you sure it didn't reflect. The current stat from the NBS is for the second quarter of this year which covers the month of April, May and June. These are the period when there was no budget and government funding is infinitesimal or nothing. Let's wait till the end of third quarter of the year and see if there is no positive effect on the economy. Yes, pumping monies into wrong hand will be another catastrophy. God will be us and we'll be great again. |

nnokwa042:I will be harsh next time you come up with stupid statistic. The truth is that we can survive without oil but the problem is that we've relied too much on oil, the reason why we seem pathetic with the fall of oil price and the invasion of the Avenger. 1 Like |

ericeben:I'm not sure about the rumour of Lagos state owing oil blocks but if it's true, that means the Lagos government also invest in it. Ask the ND government if they have any investment aside the fact that the oil is in their land- which is responsible for the 13% thingy. I guess they don't. All they like doing is to collect money and spend it on irrelevant things like buying guns and bullets because of elections... Look at Bayelsa and Delta, they are quite pathetic states. I pray we learn to question the right people. 1 Like |
