Who are you and what made you think I am interested to meet you or do business with you? My questions about this dummurage issue was directed at justjeff because he said he has a car on that vessel. TELLING ME TO WAIT TILL MY AGENT TELLS ME TO PAY DUMMURAGE BEFORE I WILL SEEK ADVISE SHOWS THE KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE. I NEVER SAID I WONT PAY, I WANTED TO BE SURE I AM NOT BEING RIPPED OFF. BESIDES, ITS MY MONEY AND I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO SPEND IT WISELY. MOST AGENTS ARE CROOKS AND THATS THE PLAIN TRUTH. MANY OF THEM WILL TRY TO CUT CORNERS AND WHEN THE JOB HOOK THEM THEY START DEMANDING MONEY FROM CAR OWNER UNDER FALSE PRETENSE.

This is a forum where anyone has every right to ask questions. I opened this thread because I paid for a car and for 2 months the car was not shipped, I never said my aunty embezzled my money. Shes a multimillionaire and her house in NJ is worth over 800k USD. I never said anywhere that she stole my money. I opened this thread bc I didn't understand the explanations. And I mentioned I have imported cars into Nigeria from USA and I got the cars within 2 weeks, so that is why I couldn't understand why this particular car took so long. I know people come to Nairaland to ask questions and they usually get good answers that was why I came here. I didn't come here for you to judge me.

Another point is that I paid a clearing agent who claim once I paid him he will clear the car within 2 or 3 days. Now for over 1 week its from one story to another. So if you pay someone who promised to deliver within a time frame and the time elapsed you wouldn't ask questions abi? Holier than thou set of peeps like you are the worst set of human being.

Anyway I got my car yesterday but the agent is a thief. Many things were stolen from the car. The original rug/carpet from Toyota was stolen, the Original Toyota tool box was stolen as well which means there's no single spanner, jack or any tool left in the car. The car original Toyota premium sound system was stolen. The car battery was stolen. I met 2 people that cleared their cars from that same Mile 2 and nothing was stolen from their cars. I suspect the agent though he denied.

Finally, I have received my car and I appreciate all the info I got on this site. Now I plan to buy an SUV next month and from the info I got here so far I know how to handle it. I Will never ship any car from NJ again bc of the delays there.

whizboi19001: Thanks for your input sir, the ship is Grimaldi, not cscc shanghai. If I may ask, does cscc shanghai berth in TIN CAN as well? All the clearing agents I contacted told me to avoid ships that berth in Apapa bc its hard to clear cars from Apapa wharf? Do you have any idea why it is so? Have you used cscc shanghai before? Is their services ok?

My aunt lives in NJ and the car was bought from the car owner in NYC. We didn't pay towing fees. Thank you sir and please let me know if you have you cscc shanghai before and what their services is like. I may use them in the future.

whizboi19001: Thanks for the explanation/clarification. The car was bought since June 28th and the car was delivered to the port since July 10 and we were told the ship would sail on 29th July, now today is August 17th and the ship is yet to sail.

I sent $14,000 to my relative in NJ since 2 months ago to buy me a Camry including shipment, the car was bought from a car owner in another state and the pics sent to me, and I was told the ship was supposed to sail since 29th of last month but till today the ship is yet to leave America?

Few years back I bought a car from the same America through another source and the car was bought/shipped to Lagos within 4 weeks, does it mean things have changed recently? My aunt has a very good job in America so I don't suspect foul play but I am finding it hard to understand why its so hard for the damn ship to leave America?

I have asked my Aunt why the delay she says these days before a ship leaves the USA there will be a lot of checks on the ship? Are they checking bombs or what? I really don't understand her explanations that is why I have come here to seek advise and I believe there are lots of car dealers here that will give me sound advise.

The shipping company is Grimaldi bc everyone keeps saying they are the best. I used them once via RORO and I like their service. Please house, I would like to know if this delay is normal before I loose my temper.

NEXT TIME I WILL NEVER EVER BUY CAR FROM OUTSIDE NIGERIA, THESE STUPID DELAYS ARE NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. HOW CAN I PAY FOR A CAR AND WAIT MONTHS B4 I RECEIVE IT? I PREFER TO WALK INTO A CAR SHOP, LOOK AT THE CAR, PAY AND DRIVE IT HOME WITHIN FEW HOURS.

IF I HAD SEEN A CLEAN TITLE RIDE IN LAGOS WITH GOOD PRICE I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN LAGOS. INFACT EVEN I AM SPENDING MORE MONEY BUYING FROM USA BC THE CARS I SAW IN LAGOS WAS CHEAPER.

PLS HOUSE, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SHIP A CAR FROM USA TO NIGERIA THESE DAYS?
