chinchum: It borders on delusion or maybe crass ignorance to think southern base in about 11 states can make someone a president. Nigerian youths have to be strategic, they can actually form a base in Labour party and start joining massively now. It is too late in a country of 200 million with half of voting age for any party outside APC or PDP to win 2023 presidential election.
In fact, Buhari with a mob followership in Core North exceeding in a greater proportion whatever the Obi movement can generate in the south could not win in 2003, 2007 and 2011. He won in 2015 because of the Southern leg from SW that gave 60% of the votes.
The president needs a simple majority, but also needs at least 25% of votes in 24 states. is Obi contesting against Buhari? You guys just go around looking for rubbish to say |

xproducer: Not so... Luke 22:36, in light of the rest of the Holy Scriptures, particularly found in the New Testament, is not how GOD wants us to respond to persecutors. Luke 22:36 has deeper spiritual meaning... not literal.
This is illustrated by the Lord JESUS' command to Peter when Peter rose to His defense in the garden of Gethsemane:
"And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." - Matthew 26:51-52
Our trust should be in GOD to save... for He saves and can save His own by His power and according to His perfect will. "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." - Matthew 10:28
Apart from GOD Himself, I tell you that trust in anything (i.e. any man as security, or any weapon) will fail a person!
The sons of Korah - under the inspiration of the Almighty Holy Spirit - declare:
"Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us." - Psalm 44:5-7 Fulani idiot |

America I'll definitely defeat them and restore peace because all and sundry are against them. Plus, no gunman in America that was never arrested nor shot to death. But here in Nigeria this has been happening for years, nobody has been arrested, killed or held accountable. And you expecting things get better. You are all fools a swear All thosoe shouting America America everywhere should read this |

Lekmanz87: Then tell me who are the good people? Atleast it wasn’t like this from the inception of nigeria so what actually went wrong ? Why the upsurge in insecurities? Those are the questions begging for answers in conclusion legalization of firearms is not a way to go… Good people are law abiding people, the upsurge is because guns from northern Africs are now available to criminals due to our non existent borders and the truth is that our government doesn't have the capacity or willpower to stop those guns from coming in. The only solution is for law abiding citizens to also have access to guns |

Lekmanz87: This is not a way to go by cause in the end after the whole of insecurities had die down who will checkmate those in possession of fire arms we are not even close to a nation that deserve such rights, look at america as of today. Killings everywhere, just imagine same scenario in nigeria with the level of unemployments and frustrating situations all around and you still expect someone from such unstable countries to have access to firearms…infact the insecurities will be overwhelming …then you will be seeing corpses on every street, corners etc pls just strike off the thought of legalizing fire arms There are far more killings in Nigeria than America. As it is now, guns are only in the hands of the bad people, we need guns in the hands of good people too to balance it |
Crime › Re: Owo Massacre: CAN Calls For Legalisation Of Firearms For Nigerians by UselessBuhari: 11:16am On Jun 12, 2022 |
SmartyPants: The Constitution is actually silent on firearms except to consign it to the exclusive legislative list. So there is a firearms act and several supporting pieces of legislation.
That aside, yes, handguns are banned but that is a balanced way of doing things since the greatest threat Nigerians face is a home invasion or, of recent, invasive terrorism. Shotguns and sophisticated hunting rifles, are sufficient for defending against these, in my opinion.
I don't really see a reason for Nigerians to move around armed. Yes, there are threats like armed robbery, but one person, no matter how well-armed isn't going to be able to outshoot a gang of robbers with AKs. That leaves only one other purpose I can think of, which is intimidating fellow citizens over trivial disagreements. I don't think we want a society where a simple traffic disagreement can degenerate into a shootout as happens frequently Stateside. Nigerians should carry AKs too, all the criminals are already carrying it |

maasoap: Mass shootings and gun violence in USA will be a child's play compare to what will be happening in Nigeria! Mass shootings are already happening in Nigeria. If some of the Owo church members were armed, many of your Fulani Muslim brothers would have gone down and that would have reduced the casualty on the side of the church members and also made the remaining Fulani muslim killers who escaped to think twice before embarking on such mission anywhere again. Hope you get the point now? |

GreatrAnalyst: Exactly. You can see what is happening in the US already. The fact is government is not doing what they should with security, we really don't need gun laws if government does all that's required of them. What has happened to national databases? Why are kidnappers making calls and can't be traced yet? What are they doing to our porous borders? What have they done with those pointed to be financing banditry and Boko Haram? What about the news of herdmen being released after arrest when caught with crimes? Why is goverment shielding those culpable unnecessarily?
If goverment can answer this and many more sincerely, we wouldn't be talking about gun legalization. Since the government can answer and aren't ready or able to protect us, what next? |
