Politics › Re: FEC Orders NNPC To Sell Crude Oil To Dangote, Other Refineries In Naira by usmanktg2(m): 6:33pm On Jul 29, 2024 |
Misterone: You just jumped in and started commenting rubbish. Aside the four cargoes, the FG has now committed the 450,000 barrel of crude meant for domestic use by NNPC to Dangote as a pilot scheme. This crude will be paid for in Naira. What this means is that Dangote will now be sourcing for naira creating a huge demand for it against the dollar. 1. This will cause value of the dollar against the naira to reduce a bit. 2. As the value falls, things tied to the dollar will fall. See the logic? How exactly will Dangote’s sourcing for Naira to pay crude strengthen Naira??! Dangote Group is an indigenous company with surplus supply of Naira from his Sugar, Salt & Cements. I will agree with you only I’d Dangote is bringing in USD to buy Crude. This is just a good opportunity for Dangote to fully go into Roundtripping. May God Save Nigeria |

Badgers14: FG and CBN know the right thing to do but they won't do it.
Why can't people just go to their banks and effect a wire transfer to their kids school abroad or pay their supplier in China??
Rather the system wants to fleece the populace by telling them to go and buy dollar from bdc and come and pay to the bank.. it's not like the bank will carry the dollar and deposit to bank of India or bank of england.. the transaction is still done electronically..
So why not the bank conduct the transaction electronically from the get go??
No one needs 8 PHD degrees from Harvard to fix this issue..
The solution is there but because of corruption and greediness, they don't want to implement it. You think Banks will just hand over the USD to you? It reached a point in Nigeria where you can't access PTA without a 50-50 with the bankers. |

Head of NTA for God' sake. What they don't understand is that been a mere civil servant is not the point, nor the salary that comes with it. What makes it a silver spoon are the connections, networks and exposure that comes with it. The title of NTA DG can grant you an entry ticket to many cartels where key decisions are made, especially before the advent of the social media. It's only a myopic mind that will think NTA DG is only about the salary and contracts . |

This Government specializes in fighting businesses. If you force these businesses to sell off their maize stocks at 20% loss, two things will definitely happen:
1. These cheap goods will immediately be bought by those “Indians” owing feed mills. Majority of maize is consumed in poultry. These price drop will only be enjoyed by feed mills. Don’t even thing they will reduce their feed prices.
2. These Warehouse owners will buy dollar to repatriate their losses leading to further hardship and pressure on fx. |

Import taxes are gone too. All these components you mentioned are insignificant to the price of PMS. Go and listen to the figures by GCEO of NNPC Limited. |

abbeywasc: Hmm.
Did the ball hit the player's arm? Yes. However, the Laws of the Game however allows such not to be given as a penalty.
1. Was the arm outstretched or in an unatural position? The answer was "No" the ref and VAR stuck to the laws.
Slight issue i had was that the arm changed the direction of the ball probably robbing an attacking player of a goal opportunity. The Law didnt say anything about that sha
It is usually not a handball if:
A. The ball makes contact with the arm/hand in a “natural position.”
B. The ball accidentally makes contact with a defender’s hand/arm inside their penalty area from a deflection, a teammate’s clearance, or similar.
C. The ball makes contact with a player’s supporting arm/hand. A player who falls to the ground or goes into a sliding tackle must protect himself using the arm’s support. Therefore it is usually not a handball if the ball hits the supporting arm/hand. On the contrary, it can lead to a handball situation if a player goes into a sliding tackle with his arm extended without using it as support. So, this is your natural hand position?
