DeathStroke007:Yes brother, you did not understand the Prophet at all, and you refuse to admit that.... It will not take you anywhere, forbidding something without any tangeable reason. In the holy Quran, there are ayas stating إن الله حرم.... to clearly state to you that which is evil..... Bottom line YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU HATE. Am done with this |
DeathStroke007:Wowww.... Ok, Please quote me the hadith that says EXACTLY "don't do the azkar, nafilat, salat and so on" that I didnt?? Brother, ever heard of the word qiyās? |
DeathStroke007:Qoute any hadith even ضعيف where the Prophet SAW forbid Salatul fatih.... I will love to know |
DeathStroke007:My Advice to you bro, never forbid what the Prophet SAW havent forbid.... |
did prophet Muhammad ever did it? if he didn't, then we shouldn'tHave Prophet Muhammad ever told us Not to do his maulud or salatul fatih? if he haven't, then why shouldn't we celebrate it ![]() |
if salatu fathi was acceptable or good, do you thinkHas Rasulullah S.A.W ever did Tafsir (Translation) of the Holy Quran in Ramadan Nooo....In making Islamic judgements, you look at what the action yields not the action. If maulud yields love of the prophet SAW, MashaAllah. |

Nothing wrong in reciting and nothing wrong in not reciting. Those that recite Salatul Faith are those that recite the Salatul Ibrahimiyya the most! To some of the sufis, Salatul Ibrahimiyya is compulsory in their daily litanies. |
Happy Maulid |
All praise is due to Allah and may Allah raise the rank of Prophet Muhammad, his virtuous and blessed kin and honoured companions. We Muslims remember our beloved prophet, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), as today 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal (December 24th 2016) marks three milestones in his life and our Ummah (Muslim community). It was the day he was born, the day he received the holy revelation and the day he passed away. “The peace is on Him the day when he was born and the day when he will die and the day when he will be raised alive.” (Verse 15, Surah Al-Maryam).The Arabic word “Milad –un-Nabi” loosely translates to meaning “Birth of the prophet.” Muslims may also use the words Mawlid-un-Nabi, Mawlid Al Sharif or Milad Sharif interchangeably. Celebrations in commemoration of the birth (Al-Mawlid) of Prophet Muhammad, whom Allah sent as mercy, by way of reciting the Qur’an and by way of remembering the honourable traits and characteristics of the Prophet is a blessed matter of immense goodness, as long as the celebrations do not immerse in any types of hideous innovations which our religion rejects. About Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him… Early Life of the Prophet MUHAMMAD, peace be upon him, was born around the year 570 in the city of Makkah. His name means "highly praised." Muhammad's full name was Abu Al-Qasim, Muhammad Bin Abdallah Bin Abd Al-Muttalib Bin Hashim. He was the last prophet of the religion of Islam. Muhammad's father, Abdallah, died several weeks before his birth and his mother, Aminah, died when he was six years old. He was raised by his paternal grandfather, 'Abd Al-Muttalib, until the age of eight, and after his grandfather's death by Abu Talib, his paternal uncle. Under the guardianship of Abu Talib, Muhammad (PBUH) began to earn a living as a businessman and a trader. Divine Revelation In his late 30s Muhammad (PBUH) took to regularly visiting a cave in Mount Hira, on the outskirts of Makkah, to seek solitude and contemplation. In 610, at the age of 40, Muhammad returned from one such visit telling his wife he had either gone mad or become a prophet, for he had been visited by an angel. The initially startled Khadija, may Allah be pleased with her, became his first convert. Muhammad (PBUH) reported that while in a trance-like state, the Angel Gabriel appeared to him and said "Proclaim!" But like Moses, Muhammed (PBUH) was a reluctant prophet. He replied, "I am not a proclaimer." The angel persisted, and the Prophet repeatedly resisted, until the angel finally overwhelmed Muhammad and commanded him: Recite in the name of your Lord who created -After receiving Khadija's support, and additional angelic visits, Muhammad became confident he had indeed been chosen as the Messenger of Allah and began to proclaim as he had been commanded. Muhammad's (PBUH) message to his countrymen was to convert from pagan polytheism, immorality and materialism, repent from evil and worship Allah, the only true God. He was always careful to clarify his role in God's work, he was only a prophet. He was not an angel, he did not know the mind of Allah, he did not work miracles. He simply preached what he had received. In the first three years of his ministry, Muhammad (PBUH) gained only 40 followers. And as his teachings threatened the Makkan way of life, both moral and economic, he and his followers experienced heavy persecution. It first took the form of mockery, but soon turned into open violence. Members of the small movement were stoned, covered in dirt as they prayed, beat with sticks, thrown into prison and refused service by merchants. Hijira Persecution continued to increase until Muhammad (PBUH), peace be upon him, received some welcome news: he had gained followers in the city of Yathrib, 280 miles north of Makkah. The city was in need of a strong leader, and a delegation from Yathrib proposed that Muhammad (PBUH) take the job. In return, they pledged to worship Allah only, obey Muhammad (PBUH) and defend him and his followers to the death. Allah revealed to Muhammad (PBUH) his approval of this arrangement, and Muhammad (PBUH) made plans to escape to Yathrib. The leaders in Makkah heard of the planned escape, and attempted to prevent it. But Muhammad (PBUH) and his close friend Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, managed to make a narrow escape north out of the city, evading a Makkan search party and arriving safely in Yathrib. This event is celebrated by Muslims as the Hijira. The year in which it occurred, 622, is the date at which the Muslim calendar begins. Yathrib was renamed Medinat Al-Nabi, "the City of the Prophet," and is now known simply as Medina, "the City." In Medina, Muhammad (PBUH) proved himself an able politician and statesman as well as a prophet. Battle of Makkah After establishing himself in Medina and accomplishing the job he had been invited to do, the people of Medina began several years of battle with Muhammad's former home city. In 624, the Muslims won their first encounter "Battle of Badr" against the Makkans. As the latter had a much larger army, the formers took the victory as a sign that Allah was on their side. However, a subsequent encounter "Battle of Uhud" was not victorious, and Muhammad (PBUH) himself was wounded. But in 627, the Makkans attacked Medina, and Medina came out on top. The Prophet was not to lose again. In 630, Muhammad (PBUH) and his forces marched to Makkah and defeated it. The Prophet rededicated the Ka'ba temple to Allah, witnessed the conversion to Islam of nearly the entire Makkan population, then returned to Medina. Muhammad (PBUH) died in 632, having conquered nearly all of Arabia for Islam. Spread of Islam By 634, Islam had taken over the entire Arabian peninsula. Within 100 years of Muhammad's (PBUH) death, it had reached the Atlantic in one direction and borders of China in the other. This success was due in large part to the military and political abilities of Muhammad's (PBUH) successors. |

Mercy to all mankind Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was asked to curse the infidels. He said, "I have not been sent to curse people but as a mercy to all mankind." (Muslim) Mother of faithful believers Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that she once asked the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him): 'Did you face a day severer than the day of the battle of Uhud? 'He answered: 'Yes I have experienced such things at the hands of your people and such a day was the day of Aqabah. On this day I presented myself to Abdi lail bin Abd Kulal and offered him Islam, but he failed to make any responce to what I had offered to him. I therefore, left with a heavy heart and depressed. I felt some relieft only when I reached Qarn Sa'alib. Here I looked up and saw a cloud covering me. In this cloud I saw Angel Jibril (peace be upon him) who called me and said: Allah, the Most High, has heard what your people have said to you and the response to your offer. Allah has now sent the Angel of the Mountains to you to carry out your orders to do what you might like to be done to them. Then the Angel of the Mountains addressed me greeting with Salam and then said: 'Muhammad! Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) has heard what your people have said to you. I am the Angel of the Mountains and my Lord has sent me to you to carry out your orders. What do you want now to be done? If you like I may crush them between the two mountains encircling the city of Makka. The Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) replied: (I do not want their destruction) I am still hopeful that Allah will make some of their children (good Muslims) who would worship Allah, the One, without associating anybody with Him. (Bukhari and Muslim). His forgiveness Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a Jewess came to Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) with poisoned mutton and he took of what had been brought to him. (When the effect of his poison were felt by him) he called for her and asked her about that, whereupon she said: I had determined to kill you. Thereupon he said: Allah will never give you the power to do it. He (the narrator) said that they (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Should we not kill her? Thereupon he said: No. He (Anas) said: I felt (the effects of this poison) on the uvula of Allah's Messenger. (Muslim) It has been narrated on the authority of Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that eighty persons from the inhabitants of Makka swooped down upon Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) from the mountain of Tan'im. They were armed and wanted to attack the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) and his Companions unawares. He (the Holy Prophet) captured them but spared their lives. So, Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) revealed the verse: "And It is He Who restrained your hands from them and their hands from you in the valley of Makkah after He had given you a victory over them." (48:24) (Muslim) His trust in Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) It has been narrated on the authority of Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that, on the Day of Hunain, Umm Sulaim took out a dagger she had in her possession. Hadrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) saw her and said: Messenger of Allah, this is Umm Sulaim. She is holding a dagger. Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) asked (her): What for are you holding that dagger? She said: I took it up so that I may tear open the belly of a polytheist who comes near me. Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) began to smile (at those words). She said: Messenger of Allah, kill all those people-other than us- whom thou hast declared to be free (on the day of the Conquest of Makka). (They embraced Islam because) they were defeated at your hands (and as such their Islam is not dependable). Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said: Umm Sulaim, Allah is sufficient (against the mischief of the polytheists) and He will be kind to us (so you need not carry this dagger). (Muslim) He fought only for Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) Mother of faithful believers, Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) never struck anybody with his hand, neither a servant nor a women, but he did fight (jihad) in the cause of Allah. He never avenged any wrong done to him personally, but he did avenge a wrong violating divine commandments. (Muslim) Closer to the believers than their ownselves Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said that a man who had died in debt would be brought to Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) and he would ask whether he had left anything to discharge his debt. If he was told that he had left enough he would pray, otherwise he would tell the Muslims to pray over their friend. But when Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) wrought the conquests at his hands he stood up and said, "I am closer to the believers than their own selves,* so if any of the believers dies leaving a debt I shall be responsible for paying it, and if anyone leaves property it goes to his heirs." (Bukhari and Muslim) *(Qur'an, 33:6) He prayed for the leader of the Munafiqeen (Hypocrites) Narrated Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): When 'Abdullah bin 'Ubai died, his son 'Abdullah came to Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) and asked him to give him his shirt in order to shroud his father in it. He gave it to him and then 'Abdullah asked the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) to offer the funeral prayer for him (his father). Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) got up to offer the funeral prayer for him, Sayyidina 'Umar got up too and got hold of the garment of Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) and said, "O Allah's Messenger! Will you offer the funeral prayer for him though your Lord has forbidden you to offer the prayer for him?" Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "But Allah has given me the choice by saying:- 'Whether you ask forgiveness for them, or do not ask forgiveness for them; even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times....' (9:80) So I will ask more than seventy times." Sayyidina 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "But he (Abdullah bin 'Ubai) is a hypocrite!" However, Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) did offer the funeral prayer for him whereupon Allah revealed:- 'And never (O Muhammad) pray for anyone of them that dies, nor stand at his grave.' (9:84) * (Bukhari) *The complete verse is: "And never (O Muhammad) pray for anyone of them that dies nor stand at his grave. Lo! they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger and they died while they were evil-doers." (9:84) His gentleness Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: While we were in the mosque with Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) a desert Arab came and began to pass water in the mosque. The companions of Allah's Messenger said, "Stop! Stop!" but Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "Don't interrupt him; leave him alone." They left him alone, and when he had finished, Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) called him and said to him, "These mosques are not suitable places for urine and filth, but are only for remembrance of Allah, prayer and recitation of the Qur'an," or however Allah's Messenger expressed it.* Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he then gave orders to one of the people who brought a bucket and poured water over it. (Bukhari and Muslim) *Indicating that the transmitter is not sure of the exact words. His concern for the people Hadrat Abu Qatadah Haris Ibn Rib'i (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said: I stand up for Prayer [Salat] intending to prolong it. In the meantime I hear the wailing of a baby and I have to shorten my prayer, being apprehensive lest my recitation of a long verse may tell upon the baby's mother. (Bukhari) He established rights for animals Narrated Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "One of the rights is that she camels should be milked at places of water." (Bukhari) His tender heart Nazrat Abdallah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports as follows:- Once the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) asked me to recite the Qur'an to him. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! The Holy Qur'an has been revealed to you and you ask me to recite it to you!" "It is my wish, " he said, "that I hear it from some other person". So I began to recite, beginning from the Sura an-Nisa, and when I reached this verse: "But how (will it be with them) when, We bring of every people a witness, and We bring thee (O Muhammad) a witness against these," (4:41). I chanced to glance at his auspicious face and saw that tears were rolling down from his eyes. (Tirmidhi) He was the bravest of men Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was the sublimest among people (in character) and the most generous amongst them and he was the bravest of men. One night people of Madina felt disturbed and set forth in the direction of a sound when Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) met them on his way back as he had gone towards that sound ahead of them. He was on the horse of Hadrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) which had no sadle over it, and a sword was slung round his neck, and he was saying: There was nothing to be afraid of, and he also said: We found it (this horse) like a torrent of water (indicating its swiftfootedness), whereas the horse had been slow before that time. (Muslim) His generosity Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was the most generous of people in charity, but he was generous to the utmost in the month of Ramadan. Hazat Jibril (peace be upon him) would meet him every year during the month of Ramadan until it ended, and Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) recited to him the Qur'an; and when Jibril (peace be upon him) met him, Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was most generous in giving charity like the blowing wind. (Muslim) Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a person requested Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) to give him a very large flock (of sheep) and he gave that to him. He came to his tribe and said: O people, embrace Islam. By Allah, Muhammad donates so much as if he did not fear want. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the person embraced Islam for the sake of the world but later he became Muslim until Islam became dearer to him than the world and what it contains. (Muslim) He did not take sadaqah Hadrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that when the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) emigrated to Madina, Hadrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) brought a tray full of fresh dates and offered it to him. He asked , "What is this?" Hadrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is a sacrifice (sadaqah) for you and your Companions." He said: "We do not eat sadaqah". On the second day too Hadrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) came with a tray of dates and said: "These dates are a gift." Then the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) and the Companions ate of those dates. Thereafter Hadrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) saw the Seal of Prophethood (in between his shoulders) and embraced Islam. (Tirmidhi) His true nature Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was presented two cups at Bayt al-Maqdis on the night of the Heavenly Journey, one containing wine and the other containing milk. He looked at both of them, and he took the one containing milk, whereupon Hadrat Jibril (peace be upon him) said: Praise is due to Allah Who guided you to the true nature; had you taken the one containing wine, your Umma would have gone astray. (Muslim) He did not speak to please but always said the truth Hadrat 'Amr ibn al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) in his special talk, used to pay attention even to the worst man in the community with a view to win his heart. "Towards me also," states Hadrat 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), "he used to pay much attention, addressing me more than he did others, wherefore I began to think that I was the best man in the community. So under this impression, one day I asked him: "Am I superior or Hadrat Umar?" He said, 'Umar'. Again I asked him clearly, he told me correctly, without fear or favour, and later on I thought I should not have asked him such things." (Tirmidhi) His manners Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "The Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) had the best manners among all the human beings" (Bukhari and Muslim) He would take permission from a small boy Hadrat Sahl bin Sa'd Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that milk was brought to the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him). He drank it. On his right was a boy and on the left elderly persons. He said to the boy: If you permit, I shall give first to these (on the left). The boy said: No, by Lord, Messenger of Allah, I do not want to let anyone have my share of what is left from your lips. Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) then gave it first to him. (Malik) His left over food a healing Hadrat Abu Omamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a woman used to rattle on ceaselessly and unrestrained. She came to the Holy Prophet's (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) presence. He was eating mutton at that time and so he gave her a piece of it. The woman asked him to give her that piece which was in his auspicious mouth. So he took it out and gave it to her. She ate it up, whereby she became alright, her tongue became controllable and she ceased to run off at the mouth and lather. (Tirmidhi) His saliva a healing Narrated Yazid bin Abi 'Ubaid: I saw the trace of a wound in Hadrat Salama's (may Allah be pleased with him) leg. I said to him, O Abu Muslim! What is this wound?" He said, "This was inflicted on me on the day of Khaibar and the people said, "Salama has been wounded.' Then I went to the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) and he puffed his saliva in it (i.e. the wound) thrice, and since then I have not had any pain in it till this hour." (Bukhari) Satan cannot imitate him Hadrat Abdallah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports the Prophetic statement that,"He who saw me in dream, he saw me really, for Satan cannot make his face like mine." (Tirmidhi) His exalted position Narrated Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): On the Day of Resurrection the people will fall on their knees and every nation will follow their prophet and they will say, "O so-and-so! Intercede (for us with Allah), "till (the right) intercession is given to Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) and that will be the day when Allah will raise him to a station of praise and glory (i.e. Al-Maqam -al-Mahmud). (Bukhari) The merit of his Ziyara Hadrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that Rasulullah (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said: Whoever visits my grave, my intercession becomes obligatory for him." Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Saudi Arabia in the city of Makkah about 1400 years ago. Since then the world has not seen the likes of Him in every regard and the study of human history shows that there have been none better than Him before Him as well. The key factor that brings reverence and respect to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in both the Islamic and the non-Islamic circles is His character. He was the best in character and He also said about in one of His hadiths in the following way: “God has sent me to perfect good manners and to do good deeds.” (Bukhari) The lines below discuss some major character traits of Prophet (PBUH) that every Muslim should spread as much as possible. 1. All For The Sake Of Allah: Prophet (PBUH) as selfless as a person could be in life. All his undertakings and motives were just to fulfill the order of Allah and He did not undertake any action out of His personal desire and will. He lived everyday of His life for the sake of Allah and everything which He did was for the Almighty. The extent of His selflessness can be seen from the example of His preaching in the valley of Taif, where people lead naughty children to throw stones at Him while He was preaching. He had to run for His life and He was all covered in blood. But still He did not complain to Allah about Him, rather one of His companions narrates: “The Prophet (PBUH) resembled a Prophet who was harmed by His people. He wiped the blood from His face and said: ‘O God! Forgive my people, for they know not!” (Bukhari) Such is the selflessness in His character and every moment of His life was for the sake of Allah and spreading His message. 2. Mannerism: Prophet (PBUH) was the epitome of good manners. Every action that He undertook in life represented the highest morals and manners that a person could exhibit. He was an Ideal being in terms of manners and ethics, the likes of which the world has not seen. As one of His companions notes about His manners: “The Prophet (PBUH) did not swear at anyone, nor was He rude, nor did He curse anyone. If He desired to reprimand someone, He would say: ‘What is wrong with him, may dust be cast in his face!” (Bukhari) Thus if a Muslim is to give an example of the manners of someone, there would be none more suitable than Muhammad (PBUH). 3. Humor: People think that being a religious leader of Islam, Prophet (PBUH) had nothing to do with humor, rather He was all strictness and stringency. This perception is wrong, as Prophet (PBUH) was the one with the finest sense of humor, the likes of which again cannot be seen in anyone. His sense of humor was not vulgar in any sense or anything that would debase or make fun of someone, rather it was fine. Anas (RA) reports such an example by saying: “Once a man asked Muhammad (PBUH) for an animal to ride. He replied that He would give him the baby of a she-camel to ride on. The man asked ‘What would he do with a she-camel baby?’ Muhammad (PBUH) replied, ‘Is there any camel which is not born of a she-camel?’” 4. Peace Lover: The general notion regarding Islam and Prophet (PBUH) is that they both encouraged violence in people and were and are not in favor of peace. It is totally baseless, because the religion Islam itself is peace and Prophet (PBUH) was a lover of peace. He wanted people to live in harmony and always encouraged people resolve their differences by opting for peace, instead of going for violence. In one of His hadith Prophet (PBUH) said: “Let us go to resolve the situation and make peace between them.” (Bukhari) Thus, Muslims should spread His message of peace by giving examples out of the actions He undertook to ensure peace. 5. Kind To The Kids: Prophet (PBUH) always treated kids with kindness and mercy. He always enjoyed their company and played with them to make them happy. One such example can be seen from His life when He used to say to kids: “I’ll give such and such (i.e. gift or so) to the one who comes to me first.” So they used to race and fall on His back and chest. (Ahmad) This shows His treatment towards kids and there are countless other examples in His lifetime where He commanded parents to be loving and caring towards their children. 6. Generosity: Generosity is another hallmark of the personality of Muhammad (PBUH). He was the most generous person there could ever be. He preferred others over Himself and always fulfilled the needs of anyone who came to Him to ask for something. One of His companions notes: “The Prophet (PBUH) did not refuse to give anything which He had to someone if he asked for it.” (Bukhari) His generosity is something that Muslims should aspire to and spread the examples of His generosity to other people as well so that the world could become a better place. 7. Caring Of Women: Another allegation against Islam is that it is a religion that oppresses women, therefore, being the bringer of the religion, Muhammad (PBUH) is also attributed with women oppressing attributes. This perception is also wrong, because Prophet (PBUH) was very caring of the rights of the women and commended His followers to give special treatment to women by giving them respect and equal rights that they ought to have. In one of His hadiths He said: “Whoever (brings up) two girls till they come of age, will be in the next world along with me, like my two fingers joining each other.” (Abu Dawud) If He were an oppressor of women, He could have simply mentioned male orphan children, however, He gave preference to raising up of female children. This shows the care He had for women and their rights. 8. Pleasantness: Another misconception is that Prophet (PBUH) would be someone who would always be harsh and strict on the people He interacted with. It is also a wrong perception because Prophet (PBUH) was the most pleasant person. He would greet everyone with a smile and always spoke to people with gentleness. His companion said about Him: “I have never seen a man who smiled as much as the Messenger of Allah.” (Tirmidhi) This shows that the personality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was pleasant and gentle. A person who would smile most of the times ought to leave a good impression on people, and wherever He would go He ought to have spread love and pleasantness. 9. Concerned About Orphans: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not just love who were around Him, nor did He only loved those who were related to Him, rather He considered the entire society. In society, He was especially considerate of orphans and would commend His followers to take special care of the orphans as they did not have parents to look after them. In one of His hadiths, He said: “The best house among the Muslims is one where an orphan is well treated, and the worst house among the Muslims is one where an orphan is badly treated.” (Ibn Majah) Muslims must take a leaf out of His treatment of orphans and treat the orphans fairly and wherever one sees the orphans being oppressed, a Muslim should raise voice for it and stop it from happening. 10. Cooperation: Prophet (PBUH) is the best and the highest among people, however, whilst all the greatness and grandeur, He was cooperative towards people and helped others in doing the chores in any way He could help them. He never treated Himself as someone special, rather He would mix with common people and cooperate with them in any way He could. As one of His companion narrates regarding the battle of Trench: “I saw the Messenger of Allah on the Day of the Trench carrying dirt (that was dug from the trench) until His chest was covered with dirt.” (Bukhari) Thus, a Muslim must also not value status or rank, rather be helping towards people and give his or her fair share in the efforts that all of the people are putting. 11. Animal Rights Activist: Perhaps Muhammad (PBUH) was the first animal rights activist on the face of this earth who raised voice for the fair treatment of animal. He told people that animals were also creation of Allah and they deserved to be treated fairly, instead of being harsh, strict and ignorant towards them. Hazrat Aisha (RA) narrated: “I once found difficulty in riding a horse, so I kept reining it in repeatedly. The Prophet (PBUH) then said, ‘You must have gentleness.’” (Muslim) Ergo, Muslims should learn from His treatment of animals and should try being as gentle and as considerate towards animals as possible and treat them fairly. 12. Disassociation From Worldly Possessions: A person who is so selfless that He would give anything that He had to anyone who asked for it and would do everything for the sake of Allah, it is quite natural that person has little or no concern with the worldly possessions. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not want anything of this world, rather whatever He had He spent it on other people and helped them solve their material problems and issues. Regarding this attribute of His personality, one of His companions notes: “The Messenger of Allah did not leave any gold or silver currency, or a slave, male or female, after his death. He only left behind his white mule, his weapons and a piece of land which He declared as charity.” (Bukhari) Prophet (PBUH) was the Prophet of Allah, the leader of Islam however, when He passed away all He left was nothing as mentioned in the above hadith. Therefore, one can realize the disconcert He had for the worldly possessions and material things. 13. Modesty: Another striking personality attribute of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is His modesty. He was the modest of all and never encouraged any kind of vulgarity, rather He was bashful and strongly encouraged modesty in His followers. In one of His hadiths, He said: “Modesty is a part of teachings of the previous Prophets and anyone who lacks it is most likely to do whatever he likes.” (Reported by Abdullah ibn Maslamah) Thus, modesty is imperative to Islam and Prophet (PBUH) being a living and breathing Islam ascertains that He was modest in every respect. 14. Considerate: Whether it be animals, women, children, orphans, enemies, fellow Muslims, followers, elders, or it be anyone in the society, for everyone of them Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was considerate. He would love children and orphans, He would treat animals fairly, He would give women their rights, He would respect the elders, He would provide what people asked of Him, thus He was considerate to everyone without any discrimination. Prophet (PBUH) said in a hadith: “I stand up for prayer intending to prolong it. In the meantime I hear the wailing of a baby and I have to shorten my prayer, being apprehensive lest my recitation of a long verse may tell upon the baby’s mother.” (Bukhari) 15. General Appearance: In His general appearance , Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as beautiful, pure, simple, gentle and yet so common as any other person could be. His general appearance is detailed by one of His companions in the following way: “The Prophet (PBUH) was a person of average height. His shoulder were wide. His hair reached his earlobes. Once I saw Him adorned in a red garment; I never saw anything more beautiful than Him.” (Bukhari) In a nutshell, no matter whichever walk of life it is, whatever situation of life it is, a Muslim is to turn towards the personality of Muhammad (PBUH) and find that particular piece of guidance from it. Muslims must spread the life of Prophet (PBUH) because it is not only good for Muslims, rather the goodwill that comes from it has a universal appeal and will help make the world a better place. - See more at: http://www.quranreading.com/blog/things-about-the-character-of-prophet-muhammad-pbuh-every-muslim-must-spread/#sthash.0Kj4LWKV.dpuf |
I am a strict adherent of the sunni doctrine, but I assure you this piece is not sufficient enough for you to make judgement, you have to read well enough from the shia perspective. So, I suggest the readers to read for reading sake but should desist from making judgements. FYI: This issue of sunni/shia is no more a religious issue but it has grown to been a political tool. |
