VERY silly excuse in my opinion, shouldnt be coming from an organisation like the SSS. This kind of excuse may be tolerated from Civil defence, but not the police & definitely not the SSS. I doubt if the Nigerian Army can come out to say such.

A terror group like bokoharam will definitely have struck fear into the hearts of their ''host'' community, and its quite understandable that they'll be unwilling to give information to the authorities going by what bokoharam has been known to do to persons (& their families) who are alleged to have betrayed them. The SSS cannot expect to walk into a community & the people will start pointing fingers that yes''he is part of them'', ''that is their house''. Nah, it cant happen that way, especially whenthere's no guarantee of their lives n properties.

SSS said the group send ''intermediaries'' or is it ''representatives''. Are they not supposed to hunt down openly & secretly, these intermediaries, track them down to where the main culprits are hiding? Track phone calls, use satellite imaging & other technologies they can CONVENIENTLY afford (going by the trillion naira defence budget)?

Not saying the communities cant be more helpful, but SSS should be employing strategies that do not necessarily have to do with relying principally on info from these villagers. .

Anyway, its now a normal thing in this country to be giving silly excuses for inefficiency, excuses that play on the sentiments of the people. Now, people will start saying ''yes, the govt is trying, but bokoharam has plenty supporters who are shielding & protecting them''. 'Supporters' who live in terror of this group everyday, who are hoping their country's security agencies will deliver them. I dont blame the SSS though, the person who's supposed to call them to order is also guilty of this same practice, so, SSS, ride on.

September no too far, we go see as una take spend una budget.

it still beats me how people can be ''shielding'' those who throw bombs at, kill and maim them at will.

Find out,as far I am concern the SSS is the most efficient govt agencies in Nigeria,on my little knowledge they depend on information from people to work effectively, when people hide info how to expect them to bring this people to book?if we are to say the truth people need to give vital information to security agencies in order for us to have a safe society, because th communities know everybody even the bad eggs, support from communities can go a long way

Politics / Re: Far From A Diminished Presidency by usmanyaro17: 4:01pm On Jul 25, 2012
Pokkadot it is quiet obvious you Are one of the hired foot soldiers of some enemies of Nigeria,I wonder what kind of people we have in Nigeria, who are so un patriotic to the extend of insulting a sitting President's personality, the problem of Nigeria didn't and will end with GEJ,he came and inherit them,I am also a critic of govt but I am not irrational of some basic facts,at least let be moderate and be respectful,if someone should be abusing your father how would you feel?criticism without solutions is nonsense, your sponsors are not perfect I am very sure that even when they are given the chance they won't do anything better.Next time if you loose inspiration to write something reason, just keep quiet and sleep, cos we can longer be deceived by people like you who are mischief makers.
Politics / Re: Violence: Can Disarmament Be A Way Out??? by usmanyaro17: 4:20pm On Jul 24, 2012
Of a truth violence has al,ost taken over civil affairs, sad as it may be,the proliferation of arms has been aiding and abating this evil. All hands must be on deck to curb violence in our societies,we must embrace dialogue and initiate disarmament in order to live peaceful with one another to develop.

Dora Akunyili was the information minister, the song on the waves was Nigeria, good people, great Nation.Indeed,we are truly great when we reflect our sojourn as a Nation which has quiet eventful though challenging we must learn to appreciate ourselves,Nigeria is still better than most Nations on earth.I still belief in Nigeria, naijagobeta.

dasparrow:

What do you expect bros? They are just victims of our failed educational system. Besides, most people in power in Nigeria are illiterates so don't expect them to write a grammatically correct and coherent letter. Its all about who you know in Nigeria to get a top paying position in government.
Dasparrow,do you want them to speak the normal English that we speak?maybe they have their style and language...we are the ones that are ignorant about that.I think the SSS is the most pretigoious institution that we have in Nigeria, infact they are the hope of the Nation.Let us always appreciate people and things when they are doing well.

peckhamboi: Arresting Man Of God?

Thank God the end is near for GEJ
Man of God indeed?which man of will be using God's pulpit to abuse people God has chosen? Its the same Bible that says that all govts are instituted by God.His statements in his so so called sermon were very inciting,I totally I agree with the SSS,let him be cautioned. We are looking for solutions not people like "pastor" Tunde Bakare who are hiding under the guise of religion to be propagating their selfish aims.

See who is talking, pls can someone save Pastor Tunde Bakare from this insanity, this Pastor turned politician has already lost touch with reality, how can he make the sacred pulpit of the Almighty,an arena for settling political scores and make frivolous statements against those who are elected.Power is given by God,if one is not lucky to be elected into any public office keep trying until your turn comes.Sadly, Pastor Bakare keeps running his mouth decieving his congregation and even bring shame to the Christendom, shame on Pastor,he is a bad loser, politics should be a do or die affair.Let him concentrate on His calling and shown politics that he is not good at,he is bringing disgrace to himself. The earlier he ask God for forgive and keeps quiet, the better for him.

Politics / Must Government Do Everything For Us? by usmanyaro17: 11:20am On Jul 19, 2012
Come to think of it,what government?who is the government? Sadly enough in Nigeria government has become a household name,we blame the govt for not getting married, for umemployment, peaceful co-existence,not cleaning our surrounding clean, choosing a terrible husband or wife, and all misfortunes that befall us.Undoubtedly, the govt is suppose to provide the essentials we need like water, electricity, security e.t.c.But the point is the over depending on this govt thing too much,it's like a father having so many children, all their needs cannot be met no matter how he tries. We are th govt,we make the govt cos power lies with the people,we must play our parts as a govt,by paying our taxes, keeping our surrounding clean, obeying the traffic and contributing our quotas where necessary.Whether we have terrible leaders, let's play our own roles as the real govt to make our country Nigeria great and better.

El-rufai is just a drowning man,a failure and anti Nigerian, because he has been left out of govt he Has now carved a niche for himself on the social media, mentoring the likes of Japheth Omojuwa to be inciting people to be unruly and unpatiotic. He is just a sick man who needs to see a doctor,I truly pity him because he is completely confused.I advise well meaning Nigerians to rescue El rufai from bigotry and insensitivity.

Politics / Re: Has Boko Haram Changed Its Modus Operandi? by usmanyaro17: 3:45pm On Jul 14, 2012
Enough of this senseless fightings,we are dragging issues?why are talking as if we are not Nigerians?cant we see that Boko haram is evil?the issue should not be how many Muslims or Christians they are senselessly killed, but how many Nigerians,we are on a crossroad in this country, there are some disgruntled elements benefiting from this crises, while others are used to score political gains. We are busy here abusing each other it's really sad. What we should do as patriotic citizens is to pray for our leaders, give the security agencies info about any suspicious individuals and moments, not to sit here and misunderstanding each other. As far as I am concern,we have even digressed from the issue at hand, this shouldn't be,let us not be allowing sentiments to be be clouding our sense of reason. This platform should be for solutions not for accumulating more problems for ourselves.
