I don't see how this comment relates to the issues on ground.

What's the point you're getting at?
The point is if the south east do break away, will the characters of the rulers be different from tha of the ikpazeus or orji uzor kalu?

Was in my state of Abia on Tuesday and I couldn’t see anything tangible thing this crook of a governor did for solid eight years he was in office :-
Why do Abia state keep having crooks as governors? All the allocations from the big markets in Aba plus federal allocations as an NDDC state and yet nothing to show for it.
I just hope Alex Otti is really the savior we all hope he is.....and how is going to be different under Biafra !!!!

Take note: Tinubu can never be president

Alex Otti is doing the right thing here if he is responsible for this and I hope he'll be as preemptive as he is now when he gets in.

The people questioning this move, understandably do not know what that kerosene governor has done to Abia State alongside his fellow bastards like TA Orji and Orji Uzor Kalu. These vermin are the worst of the worst. They converted their state from a manufacturing hub into a wasteland. Whatever imaginations you have of a bad leader, multiply that by 10 and you have these guys. If left to their vices, nothing, I mean nothing will be left for the incoming to hit the ground running. They'll loot that state dry, sell as many assets as possible and have it on its knees with nothing for the incoming administration.
Oga....why are you complaining, are they not all Ibo men, and is this not the self-determination that your people are clamoring for. Ibos are ruling ibos, and I suppose this is the utopia you guys want.

Clearly, the essence of the judgment is lost on you! If he loves his daughter as you claim : his, his wife’s and relatives kidneys were available and could have been donated! It is wicked and indeed exploitative to have gone the route he took just because he is wealthy and the sourced donor poor and in need of a better life. He considered the poor boy EXPENDABLE! That, really, is the deplorable conduct he intentionally put up. The poor deserve to be protected from conscienceless and evil folks like Ekweremadu and his ilk. Worst case scenario Ekweremadu could have arranged for the poor boy to marry his daughter so he can get to afford the life long medical care that comes with living with one kidney! Such exploitative mentality and conduct is one reason Nigerians and Africans are this backward! And to think he is still lying and grossly unrepentant! He deserves to be punished to the full extent of the Law!!!
Well put, I concur. He deliberately bypassed his own family in his search.

Crime / Re: Senator Ekweremadu, Wife And Their Doctor To Be Sentenced On May 5 by uvie66: 7:49am On Mar 25, 2023
N3TRAL:
Pretty Sonia needed a Kidney transplant.

A 21 year old man was brought in from Lagos as the donor after matching kidneys were confirmed through a middle-man (a doctor who has been convicted with the Ekweremadus).

He was promised £7,000 pounds to sell his kidney.

At the hospital, the doctor in charge of the surgical operation interviewed the donor/victim.

One of the requirements for the surgery was that the donor can afford life-long medical care that comes with living with one kidney.

The donor/victim couldn't give assurances that he could afford life-long medical care and he wasn't briefed about the pros and cons of the process before he accepted to come to the UK.

The donor/victim walked into a police station and made a report.

Ekweremadu, his wife and the middle man doctor were arrested.

Under UK laws, organ donors are not to be paid for donating their organs. They are to do so voluntarily without charge.

The Modern Slavery Act enacted by parliament in 2015 was violated.

Ekweremadu, his wife and middle man doctor have been convicted.

They await sentencing which could be as severe has life imprisonment.

The donor/victim has been granted asylum because his safety in Nigeria cannot be guaranteed.

Pretty Sonia the sick girl has been discharged and acquitted by the court. She still hopes for a kidney donor.

The case is the first of its kind in the UK and the conviction is a landmark achievement since the enactment of the Modern Slavery Act in 2015.

Sonia is so pretty, kind-hearted and harmless 💕💕💕💕. I'm depressed. I feel for her. She'll live with the guilt of destroying her own parents 😢😭😭😭
What nonsense are you talking what about the guilt of attempting to pay for a kidney by taking advantage of the boy.

If found wanting though, let the hammer be brought down on him.
where did you read your law? and why do you think he will vindicated all because of a clean past, he is a first offender and will be duly convicted. That quantity of cigarettes can't be for personal consumption or belong to someone else.

He is no different that others on social media, even on nairaland, Trying to defend what they believe In. Whether he is wrong or not, it doesn't matter, what matters is that he has freedom of speech and we will respect it.

Before you insult him, some of you lots that will insult this young man have once in a while insulted this my p ( p square) when he had issues with his brother so don't come here and be forming angel Gabriel.

The situation isn't funny at all and many Nigerians are really suffering due to this policy.

Let me share a very short and sad story with you.

I was at the market yesterday to get some groceries and provisions for the house. I made the payment via transfer because I didn't go with my ATM card. Unfortunately, I was debited immediately but the vendor didn't receive alert on his end.

I came to his shop around 3pm. You wouldn't believe that I waited till 6:30pm thinking that the alert will come in.

Lo and behold, Mr. vendor didn't get the alert.

I hard to return all the stuffs I bought. He collected my phone number and told me that he will call me once he sees the alert so that he can transfer my money back to me.

I was angry but I had to receive sense immediately because it wasn't his fault. He was just trying to play safe too.

I came home angrily and drank semovita with no Sugar.

The policy is just so annoying.
I do not understand ...how can you drink semolina !!!!!

Religion / Re: Paying For Prayer: I Went Into Debt, Trying To Secure A Miracle by uvie66: 8:47pm On Mar 12, 2023
Faber:

Good question. But before I answer your question, don't forget I said that's is for quick results . Now Look at it this way. When you are sick, you normally go to the drug store and buy drugs and you get some relief, temporary or permanent. Why did those drugs worked on you instead of prayers, the answer is simple, they are made from roots, herbs that have some powers inbuilt in them by God and nature to cure and prevent certain diseases, that's medicinal powers.
Now what the native doctors do is to get these herbs and roots and use them to solve problems like curing of diseases, good luck charm, etc. But prayers only work on God's intervention which you maybe sure of (faith comes here) but cannot tell when it will happen. Native doctors rely on herbs, roots, human and animal parts for solving problems. Nothing special.

But prayers alone and paying tithes is a long journey to solving problems and most cases not even sure those things will happen.
...and it is native doctors that will work, with all the native doctors in Africa it is still the poorest continent in the world.

No be on this same Nigeria that drivers jumps red lights with careless abandoned but the same driver won't try that when in another country, here driving one way is common. Even with measures people tend to offend rules and regulations in Nigeria.
....no brother, you are missing the point, part of a railway crossing safety awareness is a traffic lights and safety barriers.

LaIabobo:
The arrest is a way to start.

However, the NRC is also to be blamed.
Why are there no barriers on our level crossings?? In those days, these barriers used to be available on major railway crossings and they have staff dropping them when a train is approaching.

Nowadays, you’ll see railway staff holding flags to stop traffic. This country keeps going backwards.

Something similar happened in Abuja last year. A simple barrier like this would have saved lives. Yet we wonder why the life expectancy in nigeria is very low
....
So after commissioning the trains Sanwo Olu did not enquire about the barriers or his transport commisioner
