Car Talk › Pimping My 1998 Camry by uwemjack(op): 12:18am On Apr 27, 2016*. Modified: 7:35pm On May 01, 2016 |
So I was recently involved in a fender-bender accident the driver in front of me stopped suddenly but the stopping distance between us was too short so I rammed into him from behind. Unfortunately only my car came off worse, while his car only sustained cosmetic damage, fortunately no one one was injured.
I had to change the bumper, radiator, bonnet and headlights, and draw out the radiator carrier/support.

PS: I am in Lagos sir. Location is elegushi area in ibeju-lekki axis, call me tomorrow by 4pm so we can arrange for Tuesday as am not going to site on Monday. At this point I need to stress the importance of one learning a 'handwork' that one can fall back on at anytime if white collar 'fall hand', like this case. As your kids are going to school register them also to learn a trade maybe after school or on weekends. You never know the trade they learn may become their main source of income latter on, you never know. |

endehT: Hello all. Been a guest on NL for years, but based on recent happenings and goings-on in my life,I have decided to do a parting-shot-kinda note.
Straight to the point! I lost my job with an MNC sometime in May 2015,due to 'restructuring'. Slightly before the down-sizing happened,I got a soft loan from one of the financial institutions, which I had been servicing monthly.
Since May 2015,my life has NOT been the same. I Attended series of interviews, but nothing was forthcoming. Eventually, around September 2015, I got a job with a firm(with a staff strength of 4people). For the 3 months i worked,I was not paid a dime,as the CEO kept giving one excuse or the other, which meant I was transporting to n fro from the little proceeds from wife's income(seamstress),and the little hustlings i could get around.
I have been doing some menial jobs since January 2016,but they haven't been able to take care of the family's pressing needs. I have a 2year old baby, and it's really been tough providing his needs. I go days without food, just to have enough to get baby's needs.
All the while, the loan I was servicing had to stop,as there was no constant flow of income any longer, and the savings I had,had to go for rent, utility bills etc.
Just today,I had an interview, and while I was there, my wife called me and told me my Creditors were at home, causing a scene within the compound(because I had not paid for 2months). This is coming on the heels of me, constantly keeping in touch and updating the account officer about my job status.
I was disorientated and confused when my wife called to inform me. Got back home and met her(wife), crying and feeling highly downtrodden.
I thought about the whole thing, and I could only think about Death as a succour. And Since my Birthday will be coming up in a few days,I have decided to end it all on that very day.
I have never, until now felt this whole suicide urge come over me!!!
It's a shame,' am aware, but I apologise to my wife,my family and most especially,my baby, for not waiting for him to know me proper, before I ended it. I always want the best for my family, and since I cannot provide it any further,I would rather do the honourable thing. I seek for God's forgiveness over my decision, sins and soul.
Adieu A baby learning to walk can fall down over a 100 times! But he keeps trying, eventually he learns to walks. A grown man who has learnt how to walk and has perfected the act of walking, still misteps and falls down once in a while, but he never stays down he stands backup, dusts himself and keeps walking. Challenges comes to all of us in varying degrees, but whatever the degree of your challenge you have enough capacity to manage and overcome it. Don't give up on yourself! Don't give up on your kid! THIS TOO SHALL PASS! I have a site am managing and I can guarantee you 12,000 per week Monday to Friday and half day on Saturday as a labourer. With opportunity to earn more If your interested. NEVER GIVE UP |

Still going strong at 24mpg highway with no hold ups, but 19mpg with holdup. What I did not mention previously was that I removed the sump and cleaned as a precaution. |

GAZZUZZ: in your case please don't go with recommended, just jejely use 20W50 mineral oil drain every 3-5k km(car is 1993 mileage would be over 200k) for transmission oil any good dextronIII will work or if you prefer the HONDA DW1 fluid that would also work. Are you saying that if a car has over 200k miles they should stick to 20w-50? |
Car Talk › Re: Bringing Power And Fuel Efficiency Closer To Factory Setup Of Your Car by uwemjack(m): 9:41pm On Jan 16, 2016 |
My car has a v6 engine 1mz-fe and its my daily drive. At the last oil change which was two weeks ago, I decided to do engine flush as the oil usually gets blackish After like a month. Here is what I did; after draining the oil with the oil filter in place and the oil drain plug open I poured like 5ltr of diesel into the engine and it drained out. Then I covered the drain plug and filled the engine with 5 litre of diesel, then I start the engine and let it run for less than a minute (my liver no carry d recommended 10min) I allow the engine sit for less than 30 min with diesel in it then I drained it out, it was so black. I allowed it to drain out overnight with the oil filter removed. Filled with 20w-50 with new oil filter, and intend to replace with 5w-30 and new filter at 1000miles. I am presently at 395miles. Now why I am commenting is because I checked my mpg at the second refill, and I am getting 21mpg for a 17year old car, now previously what I usually get is between 16 and 19! Which is a wow for me. Engine flush is good but it can also kill your engine if not properly done. |
