The euphoria of the successful hosting of the Ikire Day Celebration hardly subsided when all the indigenes of Ikire, under the aegis of the Ikire Progressive Union (IPU) converged at Ayedaade High School Ikire and celebrated the annual Ikire Day. He implored Sons and daughters of Ikire to celebrate Ikire Day 2017, amid renewed efforts to move the town forward from its present state. We watched with serious excitement how some dimwits in Omisore media handlers turn a new leaf and start propagating the image of Akogun Lere Oyewumi. It is very important to note that the beauty of life lies in our ability to reason along different lines. Akogun Lere Oyewumi's Ambition Is A Non-violence Struggle.

Our attention has been drawn to a widely circulated post by some myopic media handler and their cohorts directed towards bitter indictment of Akogun Lere Oyewumi through the claim of instigating violence at Osogbo. They attempts to drag his name into mud because of meagre payment and inordinate ambition. The news is unfounded and contrived by mischief makers and enemies of Peoples Democratic Party. They fabricated the report to project Akogun Lere Oyewumi image as the instigator of violence.

There is no iota of truth in the rumours. It is worthy of note, and indeed on record even within security circles, that Akogun Lere Oyewumi was not the aggressor or instigator of violence in any part of Peoples Democratic Party in the ongoing congress and never has it been. Besides, why should the winners in the congress be the ones to attack the looser ? It makes no sense. Akogun Lere Oyewumi is not a power drunk politician and Irewole PDP is neither a violent Political Party. Rather, it is the Bayo Faforiji/Omisore led caucus that is the product violence being an almagam of vicious legacy units, one of which commandeered the intimidation and harrasment of Akogun Lere Oyewumi supporters in Osogbo which was repelled.

However, we appreciate the teeming supporters that fiercely restricted Omisore/Faforiji thugs attacks at PDP secretariat, Osogbo and let them realized that they don't have the monopoly of violence. We also implore the admirers and supporters of Akogun Lere Oyewumi to remain bold, courageous, determined, unshaken and committed in the face of provocation and flagrant violation of PDP constitution by Omisore/Faforiji group in the state.

Akogun Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi Finally Bowed Out of NPC After Five Years of Meritorious Service

The Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission representing Osun state, Akogun Lere Oyewumi finally bowed out of office after five years of meritorious service at the commision. At a brief ceremony at the National Population Commission Headquarters in Abuja, where Akogun Lere Oyewumi handed over to the federal commission. The Chairman, National Population Commission, Chief Eze Duruiheoma extols Akogun Lere Oyewumi as an experienced man who has served the commission diligently.He said "The good and vibrant image of the commision was upheld by Akogun Lere Oyewumi's leadership virtues and this indeed earned a pride of place among the Federal commission. He said further, that Akogun Lere Oyewumi also make appreciable progress in the dislodgement of cabals that have dented and ruined the image of the commission for a long time".

In a statement signed by his media team, Akogun Lere Oyewumi praised almighty God for the successful stay in office. He said Consciously or unconsciously, every one of us does render some service or other. If we cultivate the habit of doing this service deliberately, our desire for service will steadily grow stronger, and will make, not only our own happiness, but that of the nation at large. While he also advised the New Commissioners to be dedicated to the service. He said "You are not here merely to make a living, you are here in order to enable the commission a great instituttion, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and dedication. The more a man takes the needs of others on his own heart, the more he must take his own heart to God. May God help you during your stay in office too, Akogun Lere said.

Dr (Akogun) Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi has urged Nigerians to make "Self-denial and discipline" a way of life, just he urged the people to pray for unity and peace during and after the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.

While congratulating Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan, Akogun also urged Muslim faithful to live in peace with all men and women and refrain from promoting our Socio-political cum ethnic differences. The virtues of self-denial, discipline and piety should not just end with the Holy month of Ramadan.

"Given the challenges that daily confront us as a people and nation, there is no better time for us to make these virtues part of our daily living and a way of life,"

Dr (Akogun) Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi urged Nigerians to tolerate one another and pray for the leaders and the stability of the nation.

Tolerance remained a vital tool for sustainable peace and political development of any country.

Akogun said with tolerance, patriotism, prayer and commitment to nation building, the country would develop and ensure better life for the citizens.

*** Construction of Bridges and Culverts: Numerous bridges and culverts were constructed by Akogun Lere Oyewumi Administration within the town and tbe rural communities. History will never forget Moosa bridge, Olufi bridge, Oduduwa-Kuogbo road bridge, Retaining wall at Naira and kobo, Retaining wall at Isale fiditi justto mentiona few

*** Akogun Lere Oyewumi secured the supply of 7.5KVA transformer to replace the old 2.5MVA at Ikire

*** 5 units of 500 KVA transformers were procured to cater for the growing suburb population and installed at different locations: Elere compound, sunmoye Ikire, Oja Ale, Oke Ada, Anajere Oluofinrin and Islamia junction Ikire.

*** Fencing of installed transformers through out Irewole local government Ikire to ensure safety of the citizens

*** General electrification of Irewole LG with concrete poles, cables and extensions. Among them includes Labimson-Agala road, Atoto road, Unity-Secretariat-Olowopooku road, Moosa area, Ori Olori-Falabi farmand hosts of numerous ones executed

*** Procurement of generating plants. About 36 units of generating plants were distributed to rural community heads in 2005. Many chiefs of notable profile equally benefited from Akogun's philanthropic gestures.

*** Procurement and Installation of A 100KVA mikano power generating set at Irewole LG Secretariat,Ikire. A lister power plant was also installed each at High Court Ikire, and the office of the National Vetenary institute within the council premises

*** Payment of debts to Oyo state Water Corporation incurred by the community.

*** Over 200 units of public taps were constructed through out the 9 wards in the town

*** About 250 units of deep wells were sunk by the administration through out the 11 wards of the local government

*** Boreholes were constructed at Odeyinka, Olode Falola, Dede village and Akinropo, just to mention a few. This pratical achievement won the Local government a pass mark with another 250units of Borehole financed by RUWESA in conjunction with UNICEF in 2010

*** Construction of over 20 units of bus stop to streamline the operation of motorist and Okada riders in the town, while those constructed along rural areas was to provide shelter to the village dwellers and traders when transporting their farm produce to the town. Bus stops were constructed at sunmoye junction, Ako garage, Odofin village, Aganta, Pai, Orita nla, Jaeanso, Wasinmi, Egbuu and Balogun to mention but a few.

Akogun Lere Oyewumi builds, creates and embarked on infrastructural development. He improves transportation infrastructure; that creates economic development, puts people back to work and, most important, enhances safety and improves the community welfare and structures. With the current situation, we need a leader like Akogun Lere Oyewumi, who believe that without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community....
