My thought too, sell the 160W.. then get new 2 200W panel of the same specs..

It's better to have 400W and 400W strings, rather than 400W and 320W strings..

Connecting a 160w or 250W may reduce the efficiency of the whole system if not correctly connected...

thanks. funds is limited. i can only afford to buy just one more panel for now. will be hard to see a buyer for the 160W panel because of location. i really need to get atleast 800w of panels, that's why i was thinking of buying a 250w

i connected the 3 by series before, now i want to buy an additional panel and then do a 2×2 connection

A quick rundown of how to connect mismatched panels

1. Different wattage, same Vmp, different Imp.... Best connection is parallel...

2. Same wattage, different Vmp, different Imp..... Best connection is series...

3. Different wattage, different Vmp, same Imp .... Best connection is series...

4. Different wattage, different Vmp, Different Imp... No suitable connection....

the panel are already on the roof, will be quite hectic to get there. the 200w are SUNSHINE product, while the 160w is FOCUS product

good day all. i have 2pcs 200watts mono panels and 1pc 160w mono panel. i plan to buy one more panel to make it 4pcs. i use a 30A epever mppt controller for my 24V inverter with 2pcs 200amps AGM batteries. pls what is the best option for me here
should i buy a 250w panel to connect in series (250w+160w), then another series (200w+200w).
or i should just buy another 160w panel and pair it with 200w panel each.

its now over one year i moved over to a more efficient PURE SINE WAVE INVERTER/CHARGER, all this souer charger and inverter frustrated me big time back then. i av to repair the souer inverter several times till it packed up. big ups to ceejay80s, saint2ace and the rest, who inspired me to start this solar/inverter journey. there is nothing better than uninterrupted power supply

nothing dey there bro, u just have to be wise, u can inquire from real shop owners about the side they sell the particular thing u came to buy, but dont allow anyone lead u. if u are not careful,u can still be defrauded even with 2 friends.

u can get a brand new 12v 22/24/26 inches tv at alaba. prices varies.. a good full 24 inches Led tv should be around 40k. (u can get a 35w rated 26 inches brand new LED tv for 45k in alaba) i av good contacts there and i buy my goods there too.

The 1.2kva is better than the 650Va, still on testing mode sha So far so good , my 12v 1.2kva ups is working ok, it doesn't over heat, when I was using the 650va I couldn't put on my 32inch led TV. Os in 30mins the ups starts beeping "overload" I then have to switch to my 15inch TV, I can't put on my 15inch and laptop at same time cos it will start beeping "overload" but this 1.2kva was on, no cooling fan installed and it powered my led TV with no overload beeping sound and worked for more than 5hrs, some nairalanders sef dey use 1.55kva ups and I dey make noise for ordinary 1.2kva ups, its working perfectly, the switch I installed is now on led light which just blinks slow , even if I switch it back to beep, the beep sef is very low cos I used celotape to cover the top of the beeper, u will hardly hear it beep sef

yeah, the higher, the better. i will advise new users to go for something higher of at least 1.2kva. I remember when i using a small inverter, it keep switching off under normal load. but now i use 3kva pure sine wave inverter, i sometimes forget to switch off many things, and no harm will be done.

Please gurus in the house ceejay, valto .... I have this led smart tv, at the back it's written 22 watts typical power and 35 watts DC power please which is the real wattage. Also how long can a 650va ups power only the TV.

the tv power consumption is 22 watts. as for how long it wil last, it all depends on the capacity of your battery.

I no just understand this 12v 200AH battery again. Nothing seems to be wrong with the lifespan anyway, and it still last (when fully charged) for about 14hrs. Carrying just 14 Laptops and charge mobile phones, the likes of Blackberry's, iphone and desktop chargers at times.

What now amaze me now is, the battery, it takes longer to fully charge and doing this charging period, it becomes very hot and now, it seems the battery has start to get swollen, at times I will have to discharge and allow it cool before continuing charging it and even doing usage time, same problem persist, the hotnesss.

This battery was bought September 2016 making just 5 months old. All connections leading to and out of the battery are accurate. I just wish I could snap the hotness and the swollen side of the battery... Please what could be the cause..?

bro, it seem u overload your setup too much. in the first place, u are not supposed to always deplete your battery beyond 60%, thats why its advisable to have at least 2 batteries and also monitor your battery % . as for your heating up and swelling battery, i think thats the resultant effect of aggressive overuse of the battery i.e( always getting fully depleted, and charging from very low % all the time)

its a pity. sorry for your loss.had it been u use diamondbank, it very easy to deactivate your atm card within seconds of getting a negative debit alert by logging into your mobile app immediately and using DEACTIVATE debit card option.

2pcs 200amps brand new battery
2kva, 24V inverter with atleast 40amps charging current.i can assure u that it will last well enough for u.

I will get them, We do get light, but 6 6 hrs shifting, so I will basically be using the setup at night 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. 2 ceiling fans for 9hrs, entertainment setup for 3 hrs or 4

u may have to minimise usage. 2 ceiling fans and home theater sound systems with bulbs gotv and tv. , when u finally buy the 200amps battery, i will advise u, that u change your bulbs to 5watts energy bulbs, look for a 20-25w standing fan(like those rechargeable type), then minimise use of sound systems tv/gotv and ceiling fan. i wish u all the best as u embark on this exciting solar journey

to avoid stories, dont go for a fairly used battery. in solar setup, battery is the most important of all. but i will still advice u to save up and buy a brand new 200amps battery with guarantee. u can add solar panels later..

Thanks bro. Am just making this setup for my room alone, I think a 100amps battery, 200w solar panel, 30amps CC, and 1500w modified sine wave inverter will solve my need sir.... Then mayb when I get some cash I will add up another battery and a 100 or 200wt solar panel to keep it on a long run. Or what do you see?

i will advise u to go for a 200amps battery instead, 100amps might not be enough for a room setup no matter how small, the load might be.

what i am seeing there, doesn't worth the price. u can get all the above with less than 100k. if u have a little more cash, go for a 200amps deep cycle battery95k, 1500w modified sinewave car inverter14k, (the same as the type listed in your picture, 30amps solar charge controller13k, and a 250 or 265w solar panel..75k. with wires. thats about 200k

I am using 6mm wire with mine,my pocket just dry straight,500naira per yard, I heard that it loses current with lesser mm wire, google online about what people say about using lesser wires, it heats up and can cause fire, fear just enter my body, where I go see money build house for landlord ?

i doubt mine catches fire, however i know it loses small current. I will change the wires next month and see if i can get another 150w panels

What size mm wire did u use on ur solar ?

i used a 2.5mm wire. though i know it might not be very efficient. but i will upgrade to a more thicker wire, when i buy 1 more 150w panel. nepa now bring light for just 10mins per day since December 1st.

congrats bro, u are surely getting there. e no easy.. with this, its easier to upgrade. any time u which, just a add a 150watts solar panel to it and u are done, since u have a total 260amp deep cycle batteries. when i was using just 400w panel on my 400amps batteries, it wasnt charging optimally as i wish, not until i added another 150w panel. now i dont really bother if there is light, cos my batteries are well charged

thanks for the response guys,but i was actually given the batteries,they are fairly used telecomms batteries...secondly i was thinking of getting a smart charger of at least 30amps or 50amp to charge the batteries...truth b told dont have much on me at the moment to acquirer an inverter,thats y i want to go for a UPS first...but i need advices concerning whether the ups will work or not and what range of ups is ideal,remember i plan to get a smart charger for the charging..

your ups will work very well, minus fridge. for less problems, go for a 650va ups and buy a 40 or 50amps smart charger and enjoy your set up bro

go for 300w mono, but i doubt if u can get a very good one for 70k right now.pls beware! some 300w panels in the market is actually 250w.
