Hello Valto, pls one small question; where did u source ur solar panels and how much is a 250watts mono crystalline panel. Tnx in advance
i bought my 2 solar panels, 1pc 200amps battery and my 3000watts inverter from the same person in alaba int. bright solar energy investment limited. i bought my 200watts 35k each. call him for 250watts inquiries 08067803774, 08051148679

you killed it bro! see financial analysis.

i am starting my setup next week, hopefully. God provide.

By the way, can your set up power a pressing iron and fridge?
bro its a full 3000 watts pure sine wave inverter its capable of carrying both at the same time, i rarely load it. i use 6 to 10% load in average. but main thing i enjoy about it, is the full display of all working parameters and the auto power saver features.

lol,

its really worth it oo. I will do mine small small. I will first start with say 40 or 75AH, smart charger and UPS. Then i will increase subsequently, adding a new component once every 2months.
yeah thats the way.. i never bought all at once.. i first bought 30A battery charger, 1500watts car inverter and 200amps battery worth 87k, after one month i bought 30amps charge controller and 200watts panel worth 45k, then after 3weeks bought another 200watts panel and 30amp mppt charge controller worth 83k, then 3weeks later i went for the final kill for now. a brand new rubitec 3000watts pure sine wave wall mounted inverter, a roll of 4mm flexible wire and a 200amps battery worth about 175k.. so in all it took me almost 3months to get all..i wouldnt have been able to spend all at once. right now no more additions..

lolz, if i tell u how many yrs i saved to get this my about 400k setup, u go fear.. grin i av to spend such cos with a 24v 3000watts rubitec inverter with full lcd display, i only need to be adding batteries later, not upgrading to higher inverter. my pocket is red now, but the investment is really worth it smiley

Hello House,

I should have found this thread earlier, maybe my life would have been easier by now... I have a 3.5kva sukham inverter with 4 tubular batteries which aren't giving me as much satisfaction that i want. I decided to complement my system by purchasing 6 panels of 250 watts mono solar panels and epever 60amps charge controller.

What i noticed today was that PHCN decided to give us electricity for 4 hours today from 8am to 12pm and my batteries were fully charged at 57volt. as of this moment which is 7 hours later, my battery voltage is at 49volt and the charge controller is showing that the battery % is at 15%.

Please this is completely new to me and I would appreciate if anyone could enlighten me about the system, what are the problems and what should be the solutions.

Thank you
u dont always have to trust the % displayed on solar charger controller. if your sukam inverter comes with full lcd display like mine, i believe the battery % will be more accurate. but 1500watts solar panels and 60amps mppt is enough to charge your batteries full every day and still u will still av a little more to run during the day. depends on how much load u put on your inverter too.
Science/TechnologyRe: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by Valto(m): 2:48pm On May 18, 2016
nothing is better than having 24hrs electricity. i manage my power consumption so well that my batteries have never exceeded 50%, it av never gone below 24v. it seems i have to buy a 5000watts stablizer cos the light in my area is always low to charge the batteries fast and well. this heavy duty inverter am using have already damaged a 2000watts stablizer connected to it cry cry

very low prices, but those are PWM controllers, not mppt.

rajo4real:
You can connect both parallel and series BUT must conform to your mppt spec.

Your Epever tracer has Vmax input of 100v.

Series connection: Voc (open circuit voltage)will be doubled: controller works in mppt mode
Parallel connection: Isc (short circuit current)will be doubled: controller works in pmw mode

If you are in southern region with low sunshine hours, i would advice series connection.

*Pls can you upload nameplate of your panels?

others, pls contribute

Awesome Valto, I see u're fully set to go off the grid. Nice choice of equipments too, the inverter, batteries and charge controllers are top notch; like I would always say " if you can afford it then go for the ones that can take u all the way " once again good job.
not planning to go off grid with just 400watts panel and 2 batteries. but i decided to go for a very good inverter once and for all so there wouldn't be any need to change it after few years. all i need is to add more panels and batteries later.

Congrats bro, no be small upgrade ooo.

kindly give a review of ur EPsolar tracer A mppt and comparism with pmw.

I guess 70A for 2 200AH batteries is a bit high, would advice you adjust d charging rate if possible or use solar for charging pending u add more batteries.

Cheers
yeah, the inverter actually have a 75amps adjustable smart charger. but i left it at just 25amps for now. i just set up everything yesterday, reviews will come later. the inverter can be wall mounted and is very intelligent. very programable.

glo network is very fast in my area. i have topped up my data twice with this glo booster plan., thats a whopping 2gb for just 1k. for those castigating glo, that glo network isnt stable in your area, doesn't mean its like that everywhere. in my area, glo and Etisalat is the best, then mtn and last is airtel.

There is this rumor everywhere in the state that governor dickson has been arrested by anti graft commission in the UK for money laundering since Friday last week. The deputy governor has been acting since then. Is history repeating itself?
hmmm shocked shocked shocked
PoliticsBayelsa Govt Non Payment Of Salaries.no Green Light To End Soon -deputy Governor by Valto(op): 5:44pm On Apr 28, 2016
If what Bayelsa state deputy governor Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (rtd) said at the state monthly transparency briefing is anything to go by, then there is no green light at sight to end the payment of loans and bonds obtained by the state government.
Fielding questions from journalists, the deputy governor hinted that the state government has continued to pay debts in form of bank loans and bonds since they came on board in 2012.
These repayments of loans and bonds span from previous administrations till date as government is regarded as a continue process no matter what, he observed.
He also said that frequent deductions from the state monthly allocations reoccur following previous overpayments made to Bayelsa state from oil wells re-allocated to neighboring states, adding that these repayments doubtlessly has made the state allocations to decline to zero point recently, he said.
According to the deputy governor, Bayelsa state government has paid billions of naira to bring down the state debt profile but daunting challenges remain unabated.
As a result, he revealed that the state government used bank loans to argument the payment of salary till January 2016 after the restoration government savings were exhausted.
For instance, the state allocation for February 2016 was N6billon but after deduction from sources, it slides down to N1.6 billion and, this amount is inadequate to pay workers in spite of the presidency’s directive that bailout funds for the month of April, 2016 should not be deducted nationwide to enable states to stabilize.
He said the state government received N1.6million for month of March 2016 but when loans and bonds were deducted from the N1.6billion by banks, only N100million was left.
To this end, he said, he met with the state chapter of NLC and shared ideas on how the remaining N100million would be used to pay salary.
The deputy governor advised civil servants and other stakeholders in the state to exercise patience as government is doing everything possible to pay salary.
Going by what the deputy governor explained, it has become obvious that payment of workers salary in the state still look gloomy.
Meanwhile, when the state government is finding it difficult to pay salary of workers, Governor Dickson’s ex-SA on MDGs Mr. Embeleakpo Apere is been interrogated by the EFCC for diversion of N800million meant for the MDGs. His wife is also under interrogation by the same anti-graft agency for N200million money laundering.

And How Many 200AH batteries would he need ?
he asked how many more panels to run his fridge during sunlight. if he adds 3 more 140watt panel, that should give him a total of 840watts, which can produce enough to power a medium fridge so far there is enough sunlight.
