Politics › Wike Partners Investors On Repairs Of Federal Road In Rivers by Valto(op): 10:50pm On Jul 11, 2015 |
Seeking to fast-track the economic growth of Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike has developed a synergy between the Federal Government, the state government and some major investors to repair a portion of the East-West Road linking the Onne Sea Port. The governor announced this at a meeting he held with the representatives of the participating companies and federal agencies at the Onne Sea Port, on Saturday. According to a statement issued by a media aide to the governor, Simeon Nwakaudu, the portion for immediate repair would be from Eleme Junction to the Onne Junction on the East-West Road. The companies that expressed commitment to the reconstruction work included Intels Logistics Services, Indorama Limited, West African Container Terminal and Port Harcourt Refinery Company. Others were the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Free Trade Zone, while the Federal Government was represented by the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta and the Federal Ministry of Works. Wike also disclosed that the total repair of the road would be kicked off on Wednesday, while the contractor, RCC, would be paid 50 per cent of the contract sum for the project, expected to be executed in two months. The governor said, upon the payment of the 50 per cent of the contract sum, the contractor was expected to drive the project to 80 per cent completion before the final payment would be made. He said the road to the Onne Sea Port was critical to the effective use of the port by investors across the country, hence the need to put it in proper condition. Governor Wike said due to the importance of the road, it could not be left to the dictates of official bureaucracy, necessitating the initiative to assemble all stakeholders to commit to the reconstruction of the portion that had degraded badly. www.tribuneonlineng.com/wike-partners-investors-repairs-federal-road-rivers |

misssclassy: Well, this is quite a delicate situation. First of all I 'd advice you sit her down and talk things with her. Tell her you stand in all of this and tell her how you feel about her decision. Expressively explain to her of the implication of her decision of your relationship
What she did was insensitive. Why would she chose to make such decision at a time as crucial as this. It doesn't speak well of her judgment and decision making.
If after talking to her she still doesn't change her stance, the best thing for the both of you is to end the relationship.
Having separate religions as a husband and wife would not help in improving your relationship. If for anything, it would help in pulling both of you apart. When you practise the same religion with your spouse, it creates understanding, trust and a stronger bond of friendship and companions :Dhip between the both of you.

Politics › The Planned Relocation Of Boko Haram Convicts To Anambra Prisons- Obiano Speaks by Valto(op): 10:24pm On Jun 28, 2015 |
PRESS STATEMENT THE PLANNED RELOCATION OF BOKO HARAM CONVICTS TO ANAMBRA PRISONS SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT The attention of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has been drawn to the mischievous speculations on the social media that the planned relocation of some Boko Haram convicts to some prisons in Anambra State was done with his tacit approval and endorsement. I wish to categorically dismiss these speculations, hearsay and beer parlour banters as fundamentally untrue and should be disregarded by Nigerians. Hard Facts The fact is that when governor Obiano got wind of the planned relocation of these high risk prisoners to Anambra State, he quickly swung into action and contacted the relevant authorities to seek clarifications on the matter after which he raised several objections to the plan. Among Governor Obiano’s many objections are - That Anambra has been one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria in the past one year under his watch and that the arrival of these radical elements in any part of the state would disrupt this peace and lead to a new regime of a different kind of fear in the state. That Ekwulobia Prisons is not a Maximum Security Prison. It is therefore not suitable as holding place for convicted terrorists. Global experiences show that terrorists and terror suspects are kept in strongly fortified and isolated places. A good example is the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp where the US keeps high-risk terror suspects and convicts which is a military facility, located away from the people. Ekwulobia Prisons does not fit into this category of detention facilities. That Ekwulobia Prisons has a capacity to hold 85 inmates. At the moment, there are 135 inmates in the prison. Therefore, there is no space for new prisoners. The acute shortage of space presents a high possibility for the radicalization of other inmates by the Boko Haram convicts. That unlike other locations where the terror-convicts are held in sparsely populated areas which makes their isolation from the people easy, Ekwulobia is a densely populated town. There is a very high risk of contact between these radical prisoners and the civilian population with an avoidable danger. That the relocation of these prisoners to Anambra may not have paid adequate attention to the sensibilities of the country, especially the fact that some ethnic populations have suffered the most from the activities of these convicts across the North. Governor Obiano’s efforts to establish this understanding and achieve a speedy and peaceful resolution of the matter went to the highest authorities. He was given assurances that the matter would be looked into with a view to resolving it with dispatch. With these assurances he worked assiduously to ensure that there was no breakdown of law and order during the peaceful demonstration staged by traders across the state on Saturday, June 27, 2015 against the relocation of the inmates. Since the demonstration, Governor Obiano has continued to engage the relevant authorities on behalf of Ndi Anambra to ensure an amicable resolution of the issue. He therefore urges Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo in general to remain calm and avoid anything that might lead to a breach of the peace as the matter is being resolved at the highest level. Politics › Mbaka Lied Over Frozen Accounts – EFCC by Valto(op): 10:14am On Mar 27, 2015 |
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has described as blatant lie the claim by the Enugu-based Catholic priest, Reverend father Ejike Mbaka, that his accounts had been frozen by the commission.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, stated this in an interview with Daily Independent in Abuja, yesterday.
His words: “There is no truth in the story and there is nothing like that. Our men have not frozen and do not intend freeze the account of cleric as he claimed.”
It would be recalled that there were media reports claiming that the EFCC have frozen all the accounts of the cleric.
The media reported that Mbaka at his Wednesday Adoration Mass for the sick and needy narrated to his congregation how he went to withdraw money to buy food items for the poor that relocated from Northern Nigeria because of the election but to his surprise his cheques were returned.
The report further noted that when he (Mbaka) enquired why he could not make any withdrawals, he was told EFCC directed his accounts to be frozen.
He stated that the commission is also inviting him to EFCC office in Port Harcourt for questioning.
However, the EFCC further reiterated that all the claims by the cleric were not true. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/03/mbaka-lied-frozen-accounts-efcc/ |

Politics › Ibadan-based Prophet Predicts Coming Of Nigeria’s ‘messiah by Valto(op): 9:45am On Feb 27, 2015 |
An Ibadan-based prophet, Apostle Perez Iyiola Oluyemi, has predicted the coming of “a messiah” whom he said will lead Nigeria out of the lingering social and economic woes.
Apostle Oluyemi, founder of Achievers Rock Commission International who is also the President, Africa Evangelical Council, Ibadan, made the prediction in his newly published ‘Prophetic Roadmap on Nigeria 2015 and Beyond’, copies of which were made available to journalists in the Oyo State capital.
The publication declared pointedly that “Jonathan would not be the messiah, but an unnamed ‘David’ would be”.
The publication reads in part: “While David stands for the on-coming (next) generation, and he is to be the permanent messiah of Israel, the man whose dynasty Israel would live to praise for thousands of years to come. David was also of the minority of the minority, Judah, though, spoken of much earlier in prophecy had never shown any record of much greatness except much earlier in Perez and Caleb. Unto Judah shall the scepter be until Shiloh comes. Though predictions had been made much earlier, Judah never rose to anything as much of greatness until David came. But the oncoming generation, the great oncoming mighty leader that will conquer all the external enemies of Israel and would usher the nation into greatness would be raised up into national fame and celebration through Saul/Jonathan i.e. Saul cum Jonathan administrations.”
It reads further: “Who is this David? I cried aloud! Once we can identify the David, we shall solve the riddle of Nigeria.”
Oluyemi stated that the spirit took him “back to a prophecy and an earlier revelation in 2010 of a man from the South East of Nigeria, specifically, of Igbo extraction who shall become the Nigeria’s messiah and lead the nation away from an oil dependent economy to a heavily industrialised nation of the world, when Nigeria will be made a great cynosure of the entire globe fulfilling her place and purpose in God’s great destiny for her as a nation, which the devil had fought for too long a time by civil war and the likes.”
Oluyemi said “it is the pact of Jonathan’s that will birth Davidic reign. The Davidic reign is the messiah reign. A messiah is coming! The Messiah that no Saul shall be able to stop though had long been persecuted by Saul in the light of the divine manifold wisdom, we walk as children of light whereby we shall not stumble. For what God permits and expects man to do, angels would not be sent to do it.
“Angels would only do what they are ordered to do. They wait on man for man to do what he (man) is expected to do. It is the right of man to vote not of the angels. Man should vote wisely by choice and not by force, out of the light of understanding and counsel, he is graced with.
“God in the context of this crossroad of the destiny of this biggest and greatest black nation on the earth has been gracious and liberal to raise a voice in the light of His Prophetic Apostolic mandate to guide us by choice and not by order.
“Even though, it is written that the steps of the righteous are ordered by the LORD but God is still magnanimous enough to lead us not as if we are robots by way of order but by our choices so that when He judges the world, God might be just to all. Choices are ours; judgment belongs to God.
“The Davidic government will be assisted and established by military helps. The Jonathan administration will have a pact with Davidic government but Saul’s spiritual dynasty will rise against David’s rising and the spiritual Saul will fall at Gibeah by military clash. That will give birth to the establishment of Davidic reign of dominion for Nigeria over all her external enemies.......................
