Djdamian: Please don't buy EOD.
Get a car with a maximum of 1.8L engine size. The smaller the engine the better for the business(they consume less fuel).
Ensure all other components are working excellently (gear, AC, and of course engine) . Get a technician to check properly before buying( I recommend Autoconsult, he is a nairalander)
All the best Hmm. I beg to differ. He inspected 2 vehicles for my colleague and I. And based on his report, we bought the cars. My colleague has been fixing issues he failed to notice since August till date. In fact, in his opinion, he feels the guy was bribed by the seller to say the car was okay. The car he went to inspect for me, not up to one week of buying, we had to overhaul the engine. Sludge and all, e no see. So what kind of inspection was done? So me I no wan hear anything about so called consultants inspecting cars if they’re just going to do rubbish. |
Car Talk › Re: Relate Your Bad Experience Of Buying A Bad Car Without Proper Inspection. by Valtteri: 11:25pm On Nov 08, 2025 |
See all these people that claim they do inspection. Never again. Got one here on Nairaland. Both the car he infested for me and for my colleague, wahala. In fact, my colleague is of the opinion that the seller bribed him.
Since August till date, e just dey change parts. Even parts the so called consultant failed to notice.
Luckily for him, I can’t remember his username on Nairaland. If I do, I will update my comment. |

Autos › Re: (1st User) Registered 2015 Infiniti QX70.. Bought New With 38k Miles Only!!! by Valtteri: 10:17pm On Nov 08, 2025 |
Hmmm. This car is still for sale? Since July? This vehicle at Agungi?
First of all, tell the owner of the car to be honest about the details of this vehicle. The mileage isn’t 38km. It has been rolled back.
If at this price, the car is still up for sale since July, then there’s more to it than meets the eye.
I had sent someone to do an inspection then, and I wasn’t too impressed with the report so I didn't bother buying. Safe to say I dodged a bullet. So please tell the owner to disclose all issues to you so that whoever buys it through you won’t be laying curses on you if kasala burst.

When I can get accessories WAY CHEAPER on Temu. Most of the accessories in my car (ergonomic neck and lumbar support, carpets, AC vent clips, steering wheel cover, diffusers) I got from Temu. You vendors overhype these prices, then come here and act like you’re doing us a favour.
You’ll be alright |

Also, what’s the best transmission fluid to use? |

radautoworks: I checked the cameras and four different people tried to explain to you. I apologize if they were not clear. Four people bawo? Please don’t be funny! Only 2 people attended to me throughout. The girl at the desk and the light skinned guy that did the testing. Perhaps your camera needs to be changed. He mentioned that the timing belt and the camshaft sprocket whatever needed to be changed, since those were the error codes that came up, and I asked how much those parts would cost, hence the invoice. Also, he said apart from those parts, once they open the engine, they might see other things that could need some work too. I’m wondering where the additional two people who explained to me came from. Anyways, it’s all good. Cheers. |

Thats ur problem.. disregard all that rubbish dem dey tell u

engine timing issues caused by failing sensors very prone on m271/m272 engine Thank you do much. I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. |

Percival9: 1. P1337 • Usually related to crankshaft or camshaft correlation issues, or misfire detection. On some Benz models, it can also indicate ignition system problems.
2. P0597 • Fan Control Circuit “A” High • Means the engine cooling fan is getting too much voltage or there’s a short in the fan control circuit. Could cause overheating if ignored.
3. P0016 • Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation • The crank and cam sensors aren’t syncing properly. Could be timing chain/belt issues, faulty sensors, or connector problems.
4. P0017 • Crankshaft Position – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 2) • Same as P0016 but on the second bank of the engine (V6/V8). Usually appears with P0016.
5. P0056 • O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2, Sensor 2) High • Indicates a problem with the oxygen sensor heater or wiring. Can cause poor fuel economy and emissions issues. Thank you so much for this detailed explanation |
Car Talk › Re: Feedback On Rad Autoworks by Valtteri: 7:28pm On Aug 27, 2025 |
radautoworks: I will reiterate, those are NOT the parts to be fixed. Those are the possible parts to be fixed since you wouldn't let us properly diagnose. You probably only need one or two. It may work better for you to take it to Ladipo and let them tear it down there and let you know which ones you need🤷🏾♀️ All these you’re saying now, they DID NOT mention. Perhaps it’s best to allow people that are knowledgeable in this line of business be at the front desk. Which was why I didn’t even bother sending a message again |
Car Talk › Re: Feedback On Rad Autoworks by Valtteri: 7:22pm On Aug 27, 2025 |
radautoworks: So I'm going to step in here and comment. First off, the staff broke the cardinal rule of giving a quote without an engine teardown because you didn't want one and were in a rush. It is impossible to give you an accurate quote without finding out exactly what's wrong internally. So they gave you a guess-timate which was overly broad which you demanded since it is easier to give you a lower quote when you are ready, than a higher one. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT no matter how much pressure they were under.
That being said, it is standard practice to charge for a teardown in a case like this. The cost of the tear down is deducted from the cost of repair. The only time you pay for the tear down is if you choose not to repair the car. Without being allowed to fully diagnose your car, that's all I can really tell you. Had I been present, I would not have given a quote at all as I had nothing to accurately base a quote on. I was livid when I saw the quote, but because you blocked us, I had no way to reach you.
Hopefully that makes things clearer. The quote is completely useless and they got an earful from me. They told you I was in a rush?? They are mad. I was prepared to wait there. I was there from 11am till 4 already. I even told her I live not too far. In a rush as how? On a weekend?? I was prepared to wait. Even the cost of the labour, she didn’t explain. She was expecting me to drop the car, pay for all that, then they will let me know the cost of what needs to be fixed. And I’m like, I won’t pay more than 400k and the issue hasn’t been addressed. So I left. I’m NOT going to spend N6m on a “possibility”. |

Car Talk › Re: Feedback On Rad Autoworks by Valtteri: 8:33am On Aug 24, 2025 |
mayor2013: I don't think you have enough information about the ride you drive. Your engine should be an M276 I presume. You are too quick to ask about how much an engine cost neglecting those vital information you need to have so you don't go the money pit. However, its your choice shebi na engine cheap pass. No wahala na for this kind M276 you go know say no be everytime dem dey rush go buy engine. Good luck on your quest Okay, thank you. And I don’t think you have enough information about the ride I drive. W164 now uses M276 engine?? Lol, okay. Let’s even assume the cost of a 2011 ML350 engine is N8m, doesn’t it make sense to you that a part costs N6m. I can as well just buy a new engine. It’s like saying transmission is N2m, but to fix a part of the gear is N1.5m. Does that make any sense? |
Car Talk › Re: Feedback On Rad Autoworks by Valtteri: 9:20pm On Aug 23, 2025 |
Well, I was at Radautoworks this morning, and I can’t say I’m impressed. They first billed me N43k to scan my car and bring up the same codes I already showed them when I got there. Okay, after explaining the codes, they sent me bill just to “open up the engine and reinstall it” to “inspect”. That’s over N350k without solving the issue oh. I told them I will not just pay any amount without even knowing what the cost of repairs is first. After wasting hours of my time there, they sent me the bill to have the camshaft and timing chain replaced. Over N6m. Not for engine oh. Camshaft and timing chain. For a 2011 ML350. How much is engine? How much is the car? Una never ready.

Car Talk › Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Valtteri: 5:31pm On Aug 23, 2025 |
Louiscars: Hmmm, while some of this codes are electrical related, I want to believe the p0016 and p0017 are balancer issues that has caused a misalignment, very popular on the m272 engines which I believe is In your car. As regards other codes you need a diagnosis on that. You can contact this lady at she’ll help out with both electrical and mechanical Diag cause you’ll need it. Tell her from Louis ( of course if you need the service ), thank you I noticed some misfiring with the car, and the rpm is really low when idle. Apart from this, the vehicle moves smoothly especially when on speed. It’s only from being stationary, or when moving on low speeds that there’s a delay in acceleration. I don’t know if this make sense. So I took it to radautoworks this morning. The diagnosis was intake camshaft sprocket, exhaust camshaft sprocket and timing chain. But the pricing they gave me is even more than the cost of an engine. I don’t see how I would spend N6m for these parts. |
