Those that were successful from the test conducted last year were called by an ELF reruiter intimating them of the new arrangement, that the Post of CPO is highly technical and it will require that they run a 6 month training before thay will be absorbed as EPNL staff, and there interest was also seek maybe they are still interested then an e-mail was sent to them to invite them for an interview with the occupational Psychologist which test logical ability and did some personality ,those that were successful from the OP interviews were replied and to be contacted for further interview.

So that is the position for now.

They have not employed anyone for the post of CPO, the prospective CPO are now called TRAINEE CPO because they will be going for their 6 months training by January and after the training that is when they will be called CPO, THOSE EMPLOYED IN august are OPERATORS. ELF is 100% fair in their recruitment. Though i heard they are inviting people based on performance during the test.

On saturday my wife and myself were preparing for a drama presentation in church and part of the drama items is a wedding cake. we placed order for one real cake but when it came it was too small to ba a wedding cake, so i took money for my personal purse to make a dummy cake of 3,000 naira. when my wife came back i explained to her , she just started shouting that why must i do that, that she has paid for another cake , that why should i do a cake for 3,000 that is not rational that maybe im lieing that i did it for 1,ooo.

There is nothing undignifying of a woman to do the proposal, neither does it spell desperation to me. If love compels you to do so, then go for it.

There is nothing wrong in a girl proposing to a guy, but to so many people, it's not ideal.
In the real sense, if girls won't propose if truly in love with a guy, that might just restrict their choice.
So i feel it should be encouraged since love involves both the guy and the lady.

The Nigerian economy is d main reason why many Nigerians cant drive.Its even better now with the advent of tokunbo cars=more opportunities to drive.I am one of the few lucky ones.I had to wait to buy my own car b4 i could drive.

Am sure the guy is courageous enough and like most nigerians knows he could drive well within 3days of learning.

Just get him a car and he will suprise u .I bet he will take u to diner and home safely regardless of the chaotic lagos traffick within 3 days of handling the steering.

On Pope Benedict XVI’s Comment


His Holiness, pope Benedict XVI, recently in Regensburg, quoted from a debate believed to have occured in 1391 between the medieval Byzantine emperor Manuel II Palaiologos and a Persian Muslim scholar in which the Emperor stated "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." Although the Vatican has made several desperate media ‘damage control’ efforts and explained that pope’s offensive jibe was only intended "to cultivate an attitude of respect and dialogue toward the other religions and cultures, and obviously also towards Islam.", it is not a strange contradiction that the exact opposite has been achieved. In the light of what the Qur’an teaches and Muhammad’s recorded statements and actions, it is hard to see how the pope, who is reputedly scholarly, and his spin doctors, expected that his statement could ever bring about the "cultivation of an attitude of respect and dialogue." It also reduces to ridicule all the previous serious efforts by the last pope who called for and attained giant strides in creating inter-faith dialogue for the benefits of people around the world?

Contrary to the pope’s statement and the source from which he so freely quoted, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) lived and preached: “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 256]

This article on pope’s derisive sermon is therefore important for at least two reasons. Firstly Manuel’s comment must be placed within the historical context of the time in which he lived as well as the circumstances that brought about the comment. Manuel II Palaiologos belonged to the 16th dynasy of Byzantine rulers. The first Byzantine emperor was Constantine the Great who– on becoming a Christian – made Christianity the official state religion or legalized religion (religio licita) via the Edict of Milan in 313. He also convened and headed the Council of Nicaea – where every non Christian was anathemathized forever. Manuel II Palaiologos’ dynasty’s reign was ended by Muslim Ottoman Mehmed II in 1453 – the first such occurrence in history and Byzantine Empire undertook to pay tribute to the Muslim sultan. For that the Ottoman empire was eventually destroyed. Although both the pope and his spin doctors have maintained that the remark was made to prompt dialogue among religions, yet, the author of the book “A Debate with a Muslim”, Adel-Theodore Khoury, from which the pope directly extracted his quotation said that these expressions were "an obstacle against dialogue." This book deals with an antagonistic debate held in Ankara in the winter of 1391 between the Byzantine Emperor and an Islamic cleric who is claimed to be Haci Bayram-I Veli, on the topic of which religion between Christianity and Islam is more rational. One therefore wonders why pope extracted his quotation from a book that deals with a hostile debate between a Christian and a Muslim to prompt what he calls ‘attitude of respect and dialogue towards Islam’ and also why specifically from chapter seven of the book which contains explicit parts that are against Islam. Further, he used the expressions out of context and deliberately left out the final part of the chapter in the book which contains the Muslim scholar’s response to the offensive remark. The response given by the Muslim scholar to Manuel’s charge was that Muslims believed in Jesus and Moses; however, the religions brought by these prophets were distorted later on, showing that the actual irrationality was in Manuel's belief rather than in pristine Christianity.

Secondly, since this unfortunate episode refers to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the Islamic concept of Jihad, the pope needs to explain or justify the inconsistencies and violence found in Biblical books like the Old Testament's Deuteronomy, a book that is holy to both Jews and Christians. Also, at least one of the Fathers of the Catholic Church which the pope heads– Aurelius Augustinus (St. Augustine) – relied on scriptural precepts to advance the principle of bellum iustum (justification for war). This was made easy for him because the Bible is replete with stories of war and conquest.

For instance, the Holy Father should tell us if he believes in: Deut. 7:16, "You shall destroy all the peoples , showing them no pity." Deut. 20:12, ", All the people present there shall serve you as forced labour." Deut. 20:14-15 and 17, ", You shall put all its males to the sword. You may, however, take as your booty the women, the children, the livestock, and everything in the town -- all its spoil -- and enjoy the use of the spoil of your enemy which the Lord your God gives you , You shall not let a soul remain alive."

The pope should further enlighten students and faithful about the following ideas: In Leviticus 1:9, about "burning a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, if it could still create a pleasing odor for the Lord," or in Exodus 21:7 which describes selling one’s daughters into slavery. Lev. 25:44 states that the faithful may possess slaves purchased from neighboring nations. Ex. 35:2 states that anyone who works on the Sabbath (Jewish Shabbat) should be put to death. Should these biblical quotations be literally accepted as sanctions for the practices? Or should today’s Muslims rely on quotations from 14th century Muslim scholars and monarchs only to define Christianity and its teachings? Why did the pope, who is considered infallible in Catholic theology, select this particular inaccurate quotation to describe the Prophet of Islam? Perhaps the practical and humbling lesson here is that we should not justify religious arguments through isolated quotations, whether scriptural or not.

The pope needs not apologize to Muslims for showing us what he feels and for bringing to the forefront the same ideology of hate and hostility decades after it was first formulated by the emperor. Rather he should be thanked for falling short of calling for another Crusade against the Muslims like some of his predecessors did and pitied for falling captive of his own judgment and doctrines. The befitting response to the pope’s divisive remarks should be increased dialogue and outreach efforts aimed at nurturing better relations among the three monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. This crisis has clearly shown that the pope is indeed fallible and it offers every good people of the three monotheistic religions in the world the worthy challenge to teach respect and tolerance, and learn how to dialogue in a 21st-century world in order to alienate the extremists amongst us.

I think we should attck the root-cause of this INTERNATIONAL HOLABALU to genuinely solve it.The main problem is "lack of interpersonal relations and communication breakdown" Tell me ,havent u had/hav a friend/neighbour/colleague/peer that hav different view about everything from urs? Now dont u find a way of living peacefully with this person becuase mainly u know u cant completely avoid them? Thats all we should all do.
If Christians have taken their time to study Islam/Muslims they would hav known that muslims dont take reckless utterances/behaviors about Islam and especially about Rosullu lahi(Mohammed) lightly because they consider it a great blasphemy and threat to their faith.They did not react because nothing happened.They reacted to an action.Its the law of nature as Newton qouted it---ACTIONS AND REACTIONS ARE EQUAL AND OPPOSITE, (in an ideal situation), for those u didnt do science, And unfortunately there is no ideal case and that is why their reaction might be greater than the pope's action.Similarly is the case of lebanon and Isreal, kidnapping a soldier is not equivalent to bombardment of a whole natio.

Question------During regular salat,we have the standing ,rukuh,sujuud,sajdah positions.Can anyone explain why some muslims do sit temporarily after the fist standing immediately after the 2nd sujuud before finally going up for the 2nd standing.Are they not commiting Ba'adi?I have purposely watched Imam sudais while praying in kaaábah,He doesnt do that .
