The Tinubu family in Lagos has urged Nigerians to discard the rumour surrounding the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s background, health and age.

The family maintained that Aiwaju is a bonafide son of Tinubu’s family, while reassuring that the presidential candidate’s health, like any other person older than 60 years old, is being managed well.

Speaking with The Guardian, Chairman planning Committee, Dr. Ade Ekemode urged Nigerians to give Asiwaju a chance to set things right in the country, noting that Nigeria is currently at a crossroads.

Ekemode, who is also the Olori ebi Sanusi wing of the Tinubu family, urged Nigerians to consider Asiwaju for the position of presidency by voting massively for him during the 2023 election.

He said: “We know what Lagos State was before Asiwaju became the governor. He helped to develop Lagos by generating revenue for the state even when the Federal Government deprived it of its allocation.

“He wasn’t bothered, he looked inward and generated revenue and developed the state. He has achieved a lot in the history of politics in Nigeria. I have read this same sentiment on many igbo comment that Yoruba elites don't support Tinubu, it is a huge lie because it will only take someone with intelligence to realise Tinubu is the best out of the lot, a tried and tested leader with proven results, and as a master's degree holder and an employer of labour running my own business I will count myself as an elite and all analysis of the three candidate point directly to Tinubu as the best for the job of nigeria presidency for now and not someone who could not handle a state successfully. Road projects is not the only proof of government performance, and I'm surprised at the way these people reason. Does it mean when the entire road in a state has been constructed the governor has nothing else to do or other things are not relevant? Without being involved in government at the time of Tinubu tenure I can list many life changing projects he did in Lagos State. Free medical treatment in hospitals, building of millennium classroom blocks, payment of waec fees, construction of BRT lanes and introduction of BRT buses for mass transport, Lagos State waste management board, creation of state police, LASMA. Overhauling of Lagos State University and establishment of the Teaching hospital, etc.etc, all the governors, politicians and many citizens of Nigeria are very much aware of Tinubus capability so it's not a debatable issue.
