National interest supersedes individual rights anywhere in the world. The controversy there is what n who determines national interest? In the US you cannot detain a citizen indefinitely without trial, citing national interest. It has never happened in the past 50years. |

Afamed: Yes Saudi interest, stupid that was why the US didn't take Osama to court despite every human being has right to fair hearing in court. The interest of 300m Americans superseded the interest of just 1person ,hence the reason US didn't bother to capture Osama alive and begin to take him to court You are wrong and totally ignorant, Osama was killed outside US soil, the issue of US human right does not apply there. Same with those that are being detained in Guantano bay in Cuba. |

Keep quiet, the govt is fighting a proxy war, we Christians know this. Why can't you Muslims live in peace with your fellow brothers, do you know how many sects that are in Christianity. All these persecution of the Shi'ites is waste time and a waste of our oil money. |

Have you seen the video of how they blocked the convoy of the Chief-of-Army staff from moving on a government road?
Have you asked the people of Zaria what they have gone through with their presence in that location?
If you can answer all these questions, then review your comments. It is on record that no Shiite member have been convicted of murder by the Nigeria court before the Zaria brutal massacre. |

Politics › Re: Olakunrin’s Killing : Attempt To Lure Yoruba Into War With Northerners -group by vanunu: 10:41pm On Jul 19, 2019 |
Oshigun: Indeed. The very myopic Igbos will shout "betrayal" and "Southern unity" yet what did GEJ , a Southerner, do for us in comparison to Buhari a Fulani?
Yorubas have always been powerfully represented in the PMB government unlike what obtained under GEJ. Capital projects , the likes of which have not been seen before, are being completed by the FG in the SW. Buhari is particularly fond of and close to his Yoruba "son and daughters" he would not move punitively against Adeosun,
Shittu and Amosun when they erred. PMB also massively supported Fayemi to be Governor of Ekiti and chairman of Nigeria Governor's forum. Buhari also insisted Gbajabiamila must be Speaker HOR and the fourth most powerful Nigerian rather than his fellow Northerner. So much for his "Fulanisation" agenda then. Fashola, never seen before in Nigeria post 1999, has three portfolio under his ministerial control. Dangote , a Northerner, is constructing a refinery in Lagos that will be the biggest in the world and bring massive and direct prosperity to the SW.
https://www.hydrocarbons-technology.com/projects/dangote-refinery-lagos/
I can go on all day. With all this happening, some cretins think Yorubas are foolish and self-destructive like them not to recognise an alliance that is productive and positive overall? We are not self-destructive like Igbos and the likes of Odumakin and FFK will never be the divisive and effective hate Preacher Kanu became in the SE because we are different people. We merely recognise them as PDP rabble-rousers looking for personal political relevance and financial gain. Yorubas will always reason properly to identify and focus on what matters. The main reason we are alway able to do this, aside innate intelligence, is that we do not hate ourselves and don't hate others.
It is therefore laughable Igbos, because of their anti-Nigerian agenda, think they can goad us to hate the Fulanis when the evidence on ground, for pragmatically intelligent people, show the Fulani to be far better and more committed allies of the Yorubas than the hateful Igbos who pushed GEJ to marginalise the Yorubas when he was President. We remember how Stella Oduah went on a retrenchment drive against Yorubas when she was Minister. As many wise men have concluded, insecurity has always existed in Nigeria. Yet committed and genuine Nigerians will never stop trying to find solutions. They will not turn against each other and start talking ridiculously about "Fulanisation" and such nonsense in a time when all hands should be on deck to move us forward. U have no diginity. |

Ades1234: I commend the group, the Yoruba know how to play there games, and d IBO and PDP plan is to disorganize the title between the west and d north, let me say something nothing will divide this country and when it come to decision the northerner have a vital play cause they are d majorities, there(PDP) is to cause menace like what they did almost 5yrs ago to cause frictions among so that people will point fingers at d government, b4na the killing along Benin - Ore road has been for many urs ago, and many has lost there life, so turning it to polities, y na every killing, kidnapping and the rest is Fulani's, we Yoruba can never be move, this government has done good to us than d previous ones, so is a game of d throne Useless coward, with no diginity. |

rowrowland: Are they herdsmen or bandits?! The criminals raiding zamfara are bandits- its the same style of action. Fulani herdsmen changed their sticks to rifles because of these same bandits rrustling cows and killing them. The lake chad wahala has produced ten thousands hardened criminals who respect no authority nor have any human feelings- and they keep spreading. Papa Newton Jibunor warned, screamed, shouted but atiku/obj feud back then won't make govt take action. successive governments neglected or underrated the situation. Anyway, if our security agencies can no longer handle the situation-#africom prayer answered. The bandits in zamfara are fulanis. The are fighting the hausas. |

kponkedenge: Like I've said in previous threads, these Fulani's are not Nigerians. The only reason our government has failed to take drastic action against them is because of the religion and tribal sentiments they share amongst each other. So the Nigerian government is indirectly telling its citizens that they'd rather side with illegal immigrants rather than their own citizens. There's no other country in the world where you find illegal immigrants killing with so much impunity and they are still being rewarded by the government, even the US and other European countries where illegal immigrants take the lowest of jobs, yet they are still deported....but here, our government want to reward them with lands for killing us. The Nigerian government is not serious, they just allow forigners to come into the country unchecked, no other country in the world does that. Anybody from Mali, Niger or Chad can claim Nigerian citizen. Which kind of stupid country is this. |

Yawwwnnnn. The trouble with people like you is that you cannot see the world beyond your own narrow experience. There are people in this country who have made twenty times what your father made, simply by setting up a website.
Oh, and there's no place called ''Congo Kinshasha''. In the sixties it was common to use Kinshasha and Brazzaville to differentiate the two Congo's, so go and drink garri, poor man. |

Guy without money you are fuuukin dead. My late dad was a trader, he went to Congo Kinshasha in the sixties and made a lot of money shuttling between Congo , Gabon and the Camerouns, he came back to Nigeria in the eighties and built ten four storey buildings in Onitsha, today we the children are really enjoying, we don't have financial problems like you, so, stop insulting traders and stop hating Igbo's because the are better than you, they have businesses in every corner of the earth, while you are suffering. Rossikk: Ironsi was BEGGED by the entire country for almost a whole year, to bring the coup plotters to justice in order to prevent retributive violence against Igbos. He REFUSED to do so. Meaning the country should just accept that some Igbo officers can just wake up and go and kill the leaders of the other regions, plus the Prime Minister, and walk scot-free.
I honestly don't know what was going through the heads of Igbos of that period. They must have thought they were superior to other Nigerians.
It's no surprise that that period ended in a civil war. Asking the country to apologise to Igbos now is really insulting. But the chairman of the panel at that time was general Gowon, why blame Ironsi. |
