I am an APC supporter but on this story of queues for commodities he did not a lie. The only problem is that he was criticizing something that was good and most Nigerians supported.
The Story:
NPN the rulling party before Buhari regime had looted treasury, oil prices were also down to $35 a barrel due to the international manipulations and foreign exchange was scarce. Buhari and Idiagbon were not going take foreign loans and devalue the currency. They were so sure that the problem of foreign exchange was a temporary one and could always be rode through that they rationed foreign exchange and all imported consumer goods had to be rationed. They also started partnering with local manufacturers Nestle, Cadburys, st.c to expand local manufacturing capacity.

So Jonathan is right, we queued but unlike him we liked it because we knew our naira was just N2 to the $1 and that all the ''essential commodities" were soon to be made in Nigeria. Anyway, IBB came later and destroyed everything and the entire country.

It does not make any economic sense not to devalue ur currency when ur currency has no value.

Ask any elderly person, they will tell u that milk and sugar were a scarce commodity during buhari's time in 1984, it was nly the govt owned national supply company that was rationing rice, sugar and other essential commodities, if you are caught selling sugar in your store, u will be arrested and jail by the military without trial.

Store like utc, kingsway, leventis etc, closed down because there was nothing to sell. Goods like perfume and wine were termed luxury by buhari and banned, anybody that was found with these goods, was jailed.

There was price control, whereby only the military will fix prices of goods for traders. If u are caught selling above the stated price, all the goods in ur shop will be auctioned.

I laugh the fans of this empty old guard, the most surely regret their action.

The mist important thing they want from gov t is effective action to stop the insecurity and Uncle Jona has either bungled it or deliberately set things up to reap political gains which have now backfired. Above all people want Change and that is not even dependent on performance, PDP has held the baton for too long.

On Buhari' s illiteracy only a half exposed young easterner below the age of 40 will call Buhari an illiterate. He was our head of state when I was in university. Student unionists used to accost him during visits and he takes them aside and debates them for hours. Yorubas know Buhari very well and are amused at all the illiteracy noise.

Our government were not smart enough. What brought the popularity of imported rice was the fact that it came perboiled, sorted and de stoned. Before the introduction of the imported rice, you had to sellect our localy grown rice for days ahead if you were planning a party or large gathering.
It took tame and effort to clean them plus no mater how well you clean them, some stones and bits still enter the cooking pot. Imported rice made it easier to cooke rice. From a one man meal to a huge party imported rice can be cooked fast, 80 times faster.
If our businessmen/ Government were smart, they would have opened a factory that sellects(not polish) the rice and package them. Imagine the money that person would have made and how our local farmers would have prospered and be encouraged to grow more? Instead they decided to import and killed off tge local market. Now our localy grown(Ofada) rice is even more expensive than the imported one.
The local unpolished ones are healthier than those imported ones.

There are now more than 5 modern rice mills in the country that are producing polished and stone free rice. Infact the biggest stone free rice mill in africa is in nasarawa state, it was comissioned last yr, there are other modern mills in ebonyi and enugu state.

Gej administration has updated agriculture in nigeria more than any other govt in our recent history, though most nigerian are not interested in agriculture, but the few that are into modern rice farming are smiling to the bank and u cannot see them talk bad about this govt. The minister of agric . Adesina, is a young man who knows what he is doing.

Not just the NDA and the war college, the NDA award degree and war college has its own certifications. If you fail at the war college I believe there are qualifications you would not get.
I think results of O'level are also a requirement to be admitted into the NDA, we all know buhari went to the NDA so let him provide his o'level and others that he has. It his personal documents. We don't need affidavit for all these.

The right thing to do is to tender your credentials now that INEC's head is correct enough to check for facts. Imagine Rochas Okorocha has just a diploma, meaning he probably didn't do NYSC, yet he is a governor. Let's reason deeper and open our eyes to facts one after the other, even namadi sambo, he should be checked!!....
