Ghana’s oil for gold barter trade initiative has taken off. The first consignments of oil under the initiative will arrive on the 10th to 12th of January, 2023 from the United Arab Emirates.
Ghana decided in November, 2022 to use gold to purchase oil products from the international market rather than the US Dollar in a major policy decision in order to help stabilize the local currency, the Cedi. |

rvp20182: African are igneous as they have to eke a living... nobody deliberately set out or imagine vans or motorbikes would be used as public transportation...as long as they are unmet needs... someone will create business out of anything...most invention like mpesa or mobile money started that way...now accepted worldwide. In some years they will be sending transport experts to see how African are using motorbikes to transport anything include coffins or even ambulance or firefighting equipment.Nature is mother of invention You are just lame in thinking , well, your statement is not absolutely true, as invention can be research investigation driven or a byproduct of trying to do something else. You are clever by half. Even in Nigeria that the business is very common, they are now seeing it as a society menace . Lagos state has put a ban on it, abuja is also crushing the system so are other places in Nigeria . Okada business isn't a thriving business , so many local otheorpedic hospital in Nigeria because of okada economy . |

BoG made dollar unavailable for some importers so that they can look inward into local productions according to him ....All this happened under two weeks. what is this one saying ? Even in Nigeria , there is a tall list of commodity you can get dollar support for . At least rice , chicken and cooking oil is one example you can never get a forex for? Ghana will also borrowed from that rigid system that protect naira for sometimes . We are not even putting a stop , you can import but go and look for your forex elsewhere . |

rvp2018: Again dont embrass yourself; South Africa dont even manufacture cars; Ghana you should start assembling motor bikes first. Then try to assemble cars. It will be some years before you manufacture car. Leave Kanatraka nonsense.
Nissan established assembly plant this year - they havent assembled anything yet.
Installed capacity is just installed capacity random nonsense. Do you make sense ....am I comparing Ghana automobile industry against that of south africa ? Am only letting him know whatever that is happening in south africa , we are also doing it here . That's is simple , it might not be as big as southy but definitely we are doing it. But as for kenya , Ghana is actually way ahead. At least by average used , Ghanaian used more cars than Kenya |

If you don't know the was no way you will know the value of your automative sector, you aren't an obtuse slowpoke that's need to be feed , just go and check online . Even though some of the cars company are operating less than their capacity for now. For example , nissan is currently manufacturing navara truck . Now do same with others company like sinotruck, Toyota etc. That is 31thousand capacity below

Kenya north of Limpopo River and south of Sahara I think has largest functional car production industry.
Maybe Nigeria can measure up but really doubt You should shut up , By car used , Ghanaian used more cars than you. Either is production or purchased . It is important to know Ghana used more cars than you. For the production , we are getting a head start . Giant cars company are opening assembly plant.. it is marter of time . The Nissan have a production capacity of making 31 thousand cars per year couple with the Toyota capacity of fifty plus. If I add other Chinese company who are also into the trade , we should be having close to 2 hundred plus per year if all of them become functional |
