rvp2018: Cuba has nailed their healthcare. They have world class healthcare built on community health workers that ensure disease prevention. They can now export - even poor Kenya got Cuban doctors and we pay them.
Ghana has a long way to go. Quick check on WHO shows Ghana need to do way more to train community health workers. Instead of becoming a slave labour exporter for yet another century - please re-look at your country immediate needs - and focus your gov training there.
If there is excess labour nurses - why not train people in agricluture. I have seen videos of Ghana primitive agriculture and they can do with lots and lots of agricultural extension officers. Ghana is far doing well than kenya when it comes to nurses to patient ratio . So this debate isn't for you. Our health sector is by far top notch. I read the last time your president is about rolling e- health. I laughed at it , because Ghana already outgrown that category a decade ago. Our health insurance system is fully digitized and now has a larger coverage. At least some few years ago, we are doing about 80 percent coverage , we should be at 100 percent now or thereabouts. We can afford to send more of our personnel abroad , we are now producing them more than necessary. And about agriculture, Ghana and kenya agriculture practice is still purely agrarian. And little upgrading have been done . |

The issue now is 10 years from now the Colleges that will meet all the standards for Uni will be upgraded into fully fledged Universities they may meet ten years requirements standard of having university autonomous , the verdict to grant them university status rested with the parliament. Wisconsin university college is yet to get its licence all this year . |

But I don't know for the Diploma courses in the Distance Education courses I am not talking about pre - service education program . I am referring to license exam . And again the six month Post secondary education certificate program and likewise the diploma which take about 1 and two years . UEW for example runs them . |

kkins25: Exactly, I think because countries like ours blessed with natural resources have gotten too used to the government providing subsidies for everything. Cheap education, cheap fuel, cheap transportation, and so on. We forget that government is not picking money from the air. All that free education and nothing to return to the country?? Haba!! let them go to America and school and see the difference.
we wamt to enjoy what the west are enjoying but don't want to pay the price. cuba sending doctor to venuzuela in exchange of oil is just one of the example . More than 3 billion dollar worth of oil was exchange for cubarian doctor .. |

QuietMynd: Thanks 4 the reply. Those nurses have families and relatives back home, they will surely send money back home which will be another source of forex for the nation. Ghana govt should not copy kenya govt paying govt some cash doesn't mean the employee will not be pay their wages . If govt sponsor an employee visa , traveling process , got you a job and negotiate a considerable wages on your behalf then such govt should be entitled to some kind of compensation.. And i am saying instead of taxing you like kafala system ( the one operated in gulf nation) , they should rather focus on the country of migration since they are the one who call for your service . Skills should be monetized , it shouldn't be free if it is coming from govt to govt unless it's a charitable exercise. |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by vaxx: 1:27am On Dec 15, 2022 |
Just30: That is not a tax... This comes closer to selling them (a form of slave trade) whereby the govt went into an agreement with another government to export human being for their labour and receives a payout (selling).
It will be different if the individuals got their own jobs abroad by themselves and govt says that because they are bonded, their employer is liable to certain deductions per month or wholesome payment from the employees salary I don't agree with you , there is a reason foreign student pay more than local student in Ghana for example, the justification is that the student once they complete there degree , they are transferring their skills into another country and most importantly , Ghanaian tax payers help in funding their education so they pay more to compensate the govt .unlike the locals that will actually utilized the degree in Ghana. It is there skills that is monetized, training nurses and teachers actually gulp some cash from the govt pulse not to even talk about the allowance govt pay them . They have to pay back . There is nothing bad if govt got rewarded for sending professional to another country ( it doesn't come free or cheap ) it should even be subjected to renewal if the foreign nation intends to keep the employee. |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by vaxx: 12:11am On Dec 15, 2022 |
Just30: I really don't favor govt making money off others labour.... Govt should have no business in someone getting a job out of the country what is wrong in taxing Ghanaian working abroad ? If that isn't possible, then taking away skillful profession like nursing and teaching should be monetize. Govt spent so much training an individual in becoming a nurse or teacher. |

vankelvin: Now Teacher trainees are doing Degree courses, diploma ended in 2019. The first batch of Degree students completed this year there is still option for teacher certified program, degree course takes about four years , certificate course required less . Most of the teacher training school are affiliated with public university . We need to turn some old training teacher college to university standard. Some school deserve it. |

Just30: Either they cut their intakes into those schools or they remove the bond, remove the allowances and let them get jobs in places where their services will be much more needed. it is only Ghana in west africa that pays student for studying to become nurses and teachers . No country does that . Removing the allowance is a right step. The allowance money can be channel into other thing more profitable in education and health sector. Ghana has one of the highest number of nurses ratio to patient in the world, much more than the required limit of world health organization. We can really make more dollars thru them , we send them to country that are lacking In exchange of dollars . They pay to govt , just like the Ghana nurses deal with barbados and UK.. for every student that goes away , we should be making like 1000 pounds . |

BOG now is the main middle man for Gold Export in the country so they have Dollar inflow of about $30m every week. But in the past two weeks, they surpassed their target and accumulated about $120m per week. if this trend continue, then more further gain from the cedis. rvp2018: Learn basic of lending before you go on tangential issues dragging kenya into Ghana self-inflicted financial woes. PRINCIPAL then interest. Not capital. Kenya gov is paying Chinese loans of course - the only issues chinese have ceased lending to Africa. Ghana has solvency problem. It's bankrupt...it now locked itself out of both domestic and external debt market. Kenya is breezing through The last infrastructure bond was oversubscribed by 153% - gov had to reject lots of money. And kenya economy is growing - 11% in 1st Q, 5.5% in 2nd Q. You are lacking english comprehension, The capital I used there was adjective , it describing the amount you are spending on the project you took china loan for and the interest you are to pay for it . This is simply english .not business term. Kenya govt has defaulted in paying chinese loan, hence the sanction ( you are paying additional 11 million dollar) for refusing to pay on time . That is defaulting. How stupid can you be. Bond , whatever you called it are all debt instrument , either it is oversubscribed or undersubscribed, it is definitely a debt you will pay back. You are using debt to pay debt, that is what your country is simply doing . If that is called management , then every idiot person like you in kenya can actually become a president. Kenya economy is not growing inline with its abject poverty. The gap is getting wider . That is a backwater country . |

rvp2018: Countries in default; Ghana, Ethiopia, Chad and Zambia. Kenya is not in any trouble; Yes Kenya locked itself out of external commercial debt market due to high interest and forex risks; And will focus on getting bilateral and multilateral loans...until the global recession has ended to seal any fiscal deficit; Kenya gov is borrowing domestically without any problems - local debt is being oversubscribed and gov is rejecting money.
Next week the US is going to jack interest rates again...making things pretty bad for many countries.
We wait for two things on Ghana...external debt restructuring and then when IMF program will start. The rest are projection from a country in financial pain hoping everyone is defaulted.
You made your bed - sleep on it As for defaulting , you already defaulted, The clear case of china sanction is an evidence, You are given to 2025 to pay your debt ( capital and interest) and if not , you already know what will happen your port is a collateral , though your klepocrazy govt denied it ( but we know where there is smoke , there is fire too) so your govt can keep the lies to themselves now , reality will soon unfold them. Your country is caused by nature, common water is lacking in some part of your country for about six years now . Even kn the rainy season, rain refused to fall there Another shocking news, the rivers that comes from Ethiopia highlands has dried up as well, at least, it will have help your country so much at least the people sharing border with Ethiopia. Kenya will soon borrowed to feed her citizens, it is already going to happen soon, common maize are been stolen from the farm.dont compare your cesspit with Ghana |

rvp20182: As you cry in Ghana...kenya is getting cheap multilateral and bilateral loans...as we wait out the global financial storm
Just last week...AFDB has put money down for dual road in Mombasa, UK has put down 300M in Nairobi Railway city - their minister was in Kenya - and Koreans have committed 1 billion dollars in Konza city where they are already building branch of their famous KASIT - institute of science and tech . The americans are pouring money...as kenya has been instrumental in peace building in Ethiopia and DRC - they gave kenya 250m gift for fighting drought - and more is flowing. Japanese are starting Dongo Kundu free port in Mombasa. Chinese can go drying for now with Eurobond. We are switching from East to West as china man is struggling.
Forex are flowing thanks to Ruto. The interest of the debt that you called cheap will later becomes too high for your poor country, making your debt becomes unmanageable . Just look at china new sanction on you , you are punished for your refusal to pay your debt on time, this is just the interest on the loan not the loan itself , ( You are paying additional millions) and you are already defaulting, how can you then pay the real loan. Kenya is already in slippery slope whereby you cannot afford the payments of your borrowed debt , so you have to take out other loans to cover them and so on. You are messed up. |
