Recently, I was reflecting on the loss of life and considerable property damage suffered by the people of Oron who cross the river in unregulated speedboats. I remember a classmate, a final-year medical student, who died trying to cross the river to get to the university, Unical. Furthermore, the increase in kidnappings along the waterways is making the situation even worse, and I pray that the government will take our plight into account too

I repeat to anyone who will listen: the only region seriously preparing for independence is the Southwest, driven by Lagos.

For example, Lagos is building an airport and a sea port in Epe. These projects are well thought out: in the event of an imminent split, the revenues from federal infrastructure would be shared among the confederated units. The Southwest could then use its political influence to sabotage this infrastructure and steer businesses toward state-owned infrastructures.

Other regions are plundering their shared heritage and using it to enrich foreign countries, and destroying lives and properties to the detriment of future generations. I'm not saying that those in Lagos aren't also plundering, but it must be acknowledged that their projects are well-designed and anticipate future growth and profits, unlike those of their counterparts.

Another media trial, as usual… It's always easy to make sensational headlines, but bringing the case to its logical conclusion so that the criminals, and by extension those who sponsored them, face the consequences. My concern is, the FGN should tell the world who the sponsors of terrorism are.

I think this sudden realization of the need to meet with the US government is hiding something.

First, I would have expected the FGN to acknowledge the existence of an ongoing Islamist terrorist invasion for whatever the reasons.
If the US intends to eradicate them, given the FGN's failure to protect the lives and property of its citizens for over 15 years, why not give them a chance to be neutralized so that Nigerians can finally live in peace? Second, I expected the federal government to address President Trump's designation of our country as a "now disgraced country." Why are they avoiding it? This is in contrast to the usual aspersions we hear from government officials, even on such trivial matters.

Clearly, the federal government must reveal to the world what it truly knows about the simmering conflicts caused by Islamist extremism - conflicts that should have ceased if the political will had existed. It's obvious they're only thinking about their reelection, at the expense of the citizens they swore to protect.

To me, i think this trip is a waste of taxpayer money. JD Vanse can only listen; it won't change President Trump’s opinion on Nigeria. After all, he didn't just tweet; he must have gathered enough information.

This is a serious country. They prefers to block their loopholes, save as much as possible to solve its internal problems, and then invest in the form of loans to recolonize Africa, in particular.

We are all not in the oil and gas industry however, this is an important topic because it affects every household.
The last time I checked, Dangote is equally importing crude from USA and maybe other suppliers as well. Will the action of PENGASSAN also affect the crude from other suppliers?
My concern is the way and manner the industry has been managed leading to the situation we are now in. If we really value our national assests, why do we have to rely on an individual capitalist to get a sector fixed?
We cannot afford another round of disruption having been paying exorbitantly for PMS and alied products.
