This ego and self glorification does not have a place in our country and it is sad, it can only be heard in the south where 2 revered kings will call out or undermine the other to the detriment of the descendants from both kingdoms. Fighting because of ephemeral positions should be condemned in its totality. I recall the same supremacy fights disintegrated the 2 kingdoms during the reigns of their predecessors and yet same is repeating itself again. The last transited kings would have righted their wrongs if they were given second chances to do so. This is not just a threat but a show of power which can be revoked by a single pronouncement the governors of the affected states. |
Clearly, there are lots of free laptop, table and chair beneficiaries on this thread. Not withstanding, it's a good thing if this is is true however, you won't blame many people who are doubting this claims considering who announced it. A character known for calling black, white! |
triplechoice:We are saying the same thing dear. For her to have switched off one phone simply meant that, her action was not intentional. Even at that, she should have exercised some restraint rather than exchanging words with flight attendants |
Clearly, her account is not too far from what has been widely reported, however, she did not mention the part that she fumed and hurl insults on the flight attendant and even the airline through out the airborne. On the other hand and to be fair to her based on what has been reported so far, she had two phones, one of which was already switched off, except for the one with a faulty control button, which can happen to anyone. The only point that surprised me was that she couldn't follow a simple command list even when being led to do so and yet she had two phones in her possession. Anyway, it is what it is, because we're in Nigeria. |
Thieves! They have initiated another instigation to make it look like, they care. All is to further plunge the country into more debt. If these people truly cares, they would have insisted the government probes the billions sunk into the moribund refinery barely few months ago but no, they want to instead initiate another scam |
And this so-called group detests accountability, but expect the state to progress? Indeed they are the real enemies of the state. What a double standard! The most glaring thing about all these selfish groups is that once they're funded by special interests, they publish open letters or press releases that clearly demonstrate how sympathetic and hypocritical they seem. Shame! Why must a saint governor be afraid of prob? Or was he not expecting there will be a day of accountability? I wish the people whose common wealths has been stolen by these brazen criminals can mark the faces of the organisers of the so-called group in order to declare them as enemies of the masses... |
But they were quick to refer to the scene where the victim was slapping the flight attendant, right? People are reviewing the whole incident and not apportioning blames to only one party. This issue must be thoroughly investigated to unravel the root cause of whatever aggression that has been recorded on the part of each party |
"He that comes to equity must come with clean hands." A clear conscience has nothing to fear. No political party is genuinely fighting to rescue Nigeria based on patriotism, but rather, a regrouping of politicians to capture power to serve their interests. Whoever steals from the masses must be held to account. The same will be applied to those who are stealing now! |
"He that comes to equity must come with clean hands" In as much as I can sense a political tone in whatever invites they may have received since the EFCC failed to have invited them prior to now however, that does not erased the fact that these people stole from our country hence be held accountable for their sins. They keep talking about rescuing the country whereas, they are regrouping to compete in the stealing we have been witnessing since time immemorial |

Yes, I completely agree with Rotimi Amaechi: the PMB government was 100% better than the PBAT, according to him, simply because you can never expect a man sitting at a dining table to go hungry. These traditional power-hungry people only realize the reality plaguing the country when they lose power and access to the central dining table. Oga, speak for yourself and not for ordinary Nigerians, who have always been neglected by every government, as is the case now! |
That's how far they can go just for power. In other clime, the government buys computers and other related infrastructure to keep young people reasonably productive, but here, everything revolves around their interests, to the detriment of the so-called eRats they recruited to promote their corrupt and dirty political structures. Imagine, the figure he mentioned only concerned one state; think of the negative contributions from other states too. Misusing state resources, because they can access our common wealth, he claimed to be able to defeat corruption in a month. An individual whose rise to power was profoundly propelled by the endemic corruption plaguing our country. Tueh |
Don't buy a car for someone when you haven't bought or plan to buy for yourself. Stories always repeat themselves in the same way, regardless of the gender of the beneficiary. The reason is simple: you can't stay blind and buy someone else's eye and hope they don't walk away. It's almost impossible, except for a few people whose conscience is perfectly sensitive. I rarely see an educated person who educates their spouse and ends up leaving. It's always those who refuse to educate themselves who usually fall into this trap. |
There is nothing a man can do without being criticized. I believe that criticism of overseas education should focus strictly on the children of political office holders whose leadership contributions highlight the poor quality of our education. We must hold them accountable to ensure they use their position to correct injustices in our education sector. Sending their children to study abroad will result in total neglect, as we have seen so far. It is well known that the man in question does not hold any political office currently; he is therefore free to send his children to study in space or elsewhere. |
These are the kind of people who present themselves as leaders or elders of Nigeria. They are very divisive, intolerant, consistently irresponsible, bigoted, and emotionally blinded individuals. In other climes, leaders or people in power intentionally issue statements to further unify their country, unlike here where an irresponsible individual wakes up every morning to stir up division for his personal gain. I wish the DSS would be neutral to warn against this voice devoid of wisdom and propriety, so that the nation can live in peace. If not for inferiority complex, why must he always bring in Christianity in all his senseless topics? |
Ha! Where was the "New Sheriff in town" during the visit? And the chairman of "haters" committee? I guess he must have chased out a bush rat to hide inside its hole since he's sworn to hate someone who finds him to be inconsequential in every ramifications. And what about the misinformation commissioner? I hope he will not struggle this time to say otherwise about the well covered event which PO attended while in the state? |
I wasn't familiar with Bashir El-Rufai before I stumbled upon one of his interviews, and I've since admired his brilliant contributions. However, I want to use this medium to encourage the young man to continue building his political capital according to the protocol established by his Dad. I suppose he should avoid the politics of names calling and unnecessary political jabs. I appreciate his youthful and articulate mind. Blessings to him. |
Unfortunately, the society the elites have created for us allows younger generations to denigrate every traditional stool, simply because it has become compromised beyond belief. Gone are the days when an individual or group denigrated a traditional stool and suffered immediate consequences. There was decorum and civility, unlike today, when stools are simply occupied by the politicians' most cherished personalities, for their own personal gain and not for their merit. This is the price of leadership failure we must live with. Sad! |
I am seriously concerned about the following points: 1. Deradicalization of Hamas: This step is supposed to be a priority and ensure the complete deradicalization of Hamas before the option of a two-state solution. 2. Non-interference of Hamas in future governance: Point number 1 is the only option to defeat terrorist ideology, as we are currently witnessing in Afghanistan. 3. Bad timing: Is the UN, despite being fully supportive of a two-state solution, rewarding Hamas for October 7 attacks on innocent civilians? May the souls of the civilians killed on both sides RIP. If they were to succeed in implementing a two-state solution now, there is no way these so-called Hamas martyrs would not be recognized as heroes, which could encourage other groups to embark on a similar approach. It is on record that, Israel did not start the war! |

.All these actions by the dominant power bloc only serve its own interests. Launching numerous satellites into orbit will not end the hostility, but would rather compromise the situation by integrating advanced technologies into the conflict. Russia is indirectly recruiting Iran into its rival war against the United States. The same is true for the United States, which is using Israel to promote its aggression. What the world truly needs is to distance itself from ideological wars that have no positive impact on Earth. The world will be a better place if we can embrace one another, accept their diversity, and, above all, accept the circumstantial nature of religion. |
Nigeria has a future. I pray that our brothers and sisters around the world will soon return to the land of their fathers. We cannot continue to lose our dear citizens to senseless xenophobic attacks. I hope the government will continue to improve living standards and build sustainable infrastructure to motivate our compatriots to return to the land of their fathers. I remember that during my teenage years, many Ghanaians flocked to our country due to the poor governance at the time. Most of the menial jobs and petty thefts were committed by Ghanaians. Look at their country today! I know we would reach a point where our country would be viable not only for Nigerians, but for the entire world. |
If such deep hatred exists between two states of so-called Biafra, imagine what will happen when they finally become a sovereign nation. I keep repeating that the noise around marginalization is nothing but a plot orchestrated by an elite who feel totally exempt from the system and whose only way to remain relevant is to stir up war to promote their selfish interests. It is clear that there is no united Igbo front, similar to what is happening in the north; they only pretended to be one north during elections and what follows is fight and hatred against each other, the Hausa against the Fulani, etc |
This is wickedness of the highest order. It's not as if these regions don't levy taxes on their citizens; most of the taxes collected are diverted into private accounts, leaving the state with the declared crumbs. The most painful thing is that, having diverted their IGR, the other prudent states are now financing their greed and kleptocratic behavior. It's perfectly understandable why they sponsored various groups to kick against the new tax bill. |
And this socalled after thought press release did not lay any emphasis on the acclaimed three lives lost as stated by the "New sherrif in town" It has only exposed the blatant lie made in that shameful outburst. What a vague press release! I am sure they have been ashamed reading the minds of the good spirited Nigerians poured out to rebuke their oga. One thing is certain, the Nigeria of today is not the same country that, they can use stolen resources to supress the mainstream media from publishing information that will expose their weakness to the world. Big shame, still |
My deepest condolences to the immediate family, friends, and Ghanaians everywhere for the loss of their patriot, victim of an attack perpetrated by unpatriotic elements determined to tarnish the image of our country. One death too many, and I am optimistic: the government will bring the situation under control and put an end to this senseless and cruel destruction of human lives, which these daredevils cannot create. Their days are surely numbered! |
This story shouldn't even make the front page, except to improve traffic. And I ask the spokesperson, who has been pushing this self-serving narrative since time immemorial, if he can also make the same affirmative statement about himself. He doesn't live inside PMB to continue to hold this discourse as if he were his boss. I had expected him as a person, to swear that he was not involved in any shady arrangements during the period when his "god," held sway the leadership of our great country |
It's the same rhetoric that got us where we are. Someone whose children are all made up—appointed to sit on prestigious boards, who receives a pension as a general in the Nigerian army or a former president, who doesn't pay his rent, who doesn't pay his children's school fees, who can easily be paid for board membership or to be a special guest at an event, who is in the agro business and owns a well-established farm, etc. I still don't understand why this lie is meant to make him appear eligible for what office exactly? |
This young man keeps reminding me of the likes of Akinwunmi Adesina, Olusegun Aganga, Madam Ngozi, anf few others. My prayer is that, after all these reforms in the ministry of interior, PBAT should reshuffle him to other ministry that requires his magic touch. I celebrate you, Sir! |
I always wonder when I see comments like "Iran won the war," etc. Israel could have decimated Tehran if it had decided to fire missiles aimlessly, as Iran did. They remained focused and targeted the leadership of each military unit to ensure they neutralized key individuals who could jeopardize their aspirations. Instead of letting Iran reflect on the colossal losses inflicted on its military in 12 days, they console themselves with false claims and attempt to dupe gullible and religious-biased supporters in a pointless image-washing campaign. Having a nuclear ambition is not the issue but blatantly stating the objective (to erase Israel from the surface of the earth) must be condemned. |
These two bills (electricity and tax) will transform Nigeria in the short term: 1. The state can now compete to increase its internally generated revenue (IGR). 2. Electricity infrastructure will create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. 3. This is where states with advantageous infrastructure will be more attractive to businesses, it is now left for the governors to identify and fix their lapses. 4. We can now identify governors who truly care about their states. 5. Those who destroy goods and services in the name of their faith will no longer benefit from the revenue generated from same goods they destroyed. Nigeria is getting serious day by day! |
