Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 12:18pm On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: Being pregnant doesn't stop you from achieving a goal, which is why I wanted to explain because I might have misunderstood you True...but sometimes to achieve certain t goals in a work place, certain very tedious work may need to be done which a heavily pregnant woman might not be able to do,that's the point i was trying to make but I think you knew that already. |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 11:56am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: Why should she when it endangers not only her health but that of her baby. The life of a fellow human always comes first. Just like anyone would take a leave when the job/stress endangers his/her life, she has every right to. Besides what do you mean by achieving a goal as her male counterpart? So why all the fuzz about my example as if it did not fit the point I was trying to make?and I don't even understand ur question about goal...is every work or effort not directed at achieving a goal ? |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 11:34am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: This is not about winning an argument or making myself look intelligent. There was a reason you chose the example of a pregnant woman..
Why not rich and poor men? Disabled and able men?
Why the pregnant woman who you even claimed can't be in the same stress as her me counterpart? Why didn't you compare a man in wheelchair with a woman who is able?
And then say he can't afford the same stress as a woman who is able.
You had a motion and reacted to that Hmmm...you are so concerned about the particular example I used that you ignored the point I was trying to make which to me you seem to agree with,I could have used those other examples but I did not,I used this one,I think i get why you have a problem with that example though and its really funny....now my question is,should a heavily pregnant woman be put through the same stress to achieve a goal as her male counterpart? |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 11:11am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: The example of the pregnant woman is ridiculous because in a country like Germany, there's sth. like "Vätermonate" where not only the woman is on leave but also the man. He's given the chance to spend some time with his family (baby). That IS equality and what happens in a "feminist" society/country Here I was thinking you would understand the whole concept of equal rights and used that example just to illustrate a point, but you had to just make yourselve look intelligent, talking about what happens in germany as if that changes the point i was trying to make about equal rights also meaning recognition of certain people with peculiar weaknesses who cant thrive under the same conditions as others and making provisions for them, clearly, you are more interested in winning an argument and making your self look intelligent....enjoy abeg,I no get that kind time. |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 10:51am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: Of course you did. Just like you stated here
Besides, I'm curios, what does equal rights mean to you? Everything I write is based on my observation....,sorry if I did not make that clear in what I wrote. As to your question ,equal rights to me means equal opportunities and not discriminating against anyone for any reason, given each individuals peculiarities, not merely treating everyone the same(equality) because this would be working under the assumption that every one starts from the same place and needs the same help....but also giving everyone what they need to be successful and thrive (equity)...e.g a heavily pregnant woman would not be subjected to the same stress with her male counterpart in the name of equal right and no special treatment,a light example but I hope you get what I mean..a lot of people get this broader view of equal rights wrong. |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 10:10am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: You didn't answer my question. I'm waiting for the statistics and would rather not talk about your aunt. I'm done with people claiming this and that, talking about FACTS, with absolutely nothing to prove it.
I also do not wish to explain to you that misandrists hiding under the cloak of feminism, still doesn't make them feminists, which is exactly why I find it very hard and difficult to take you serious. As logical as it might sound, you still don't get it.
And I'm not the type to explain logical things like
Because an O looks like zero, doesn't make it a number. Because misandrists hide under the cloak of feminism, doesn't make them feminists, because a black person is an American citizen, doesn't mean he or she is white Whether or not you take me serious is not my concern,I don't need you to,everyone has a right to their opinion and as with most sane people, their opinion is based on their observation,I did not accuse all feminists or ladies of getting it wrong which would warrant you asking me for facts....I merely stated that most ladies I have come across "who claim" to be feminist seem to get the whole thing wrong..."meaning it is subjective" and that is my fact, why you have also decided not to get my narrative is your problem. At least I have established the a fact, I know what feminism is....we have made progress. |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 9:11am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: How many of them have you met? Or better how many females have you met? 10% of the females world population? Which statistics/research etc support your claims.
If you haven't noticed, I prefer arguing with facts rather than listening to men boys blabbing around.
You didn't even know the definition of feminism to begin with And as expected you tried to insult me with the whole men/boys thing, exactly my point....and to answer your questions,I do know and support the original purpose behind feminism, which was to stop the denigration of the female human, the voilence directed at the female by a male dominated and oriented society who saw women as lesser than men and serve the purpose of pleasure and making babies,to give women a voice, equal rights and oppitunities to aspire, to contribute to the survival of society.... I also know a lot of self acclaimed feminist who have in a very real sense become the female version of what feminism stood against, maybe they did not know they were misandrists hiding under the cloak of feminism,I was even discussing with one a few days ago...my aunt. Every acclaimed feminist with a flawed character is bound to miss the whole point of feminism. |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 8:38am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: What'a sad is not knowing the difference between feminists and misandrists and thinking a feminist gives a f about your relationship lmaoo What are you even saying??,you should direct ur statement at ur female counterparts cos it is they who don't seem to know the difference,I guess most of our modern day feminists are really misandrists then. |
Romance › Re: Feminists Have Come Again! by VERDA: 4:13am On Dec 31, 2017 |
lovelygurl: I've seen a lot of misogynists who are mentally sick, some actually kill people. Your point is...? Because I am sure it has nothing to do with their beliefs on gender equality Modern day feminism especially in our young girls has shifted from from gender equality to hate of the male gender, and crazy ideas about how a lady should be an act in her relationship with her male counterpart, this has wrecked so much harvock in homes and Young's marriages,it is really sad. |

Romance › Re: Nigerian Men, you Are Confused by VERDA: 7:19am On Dec 28, 2017 |
Safiaaa: You're not being honest. Most of you would rather suffer than to have a woman financially compete with you. Very old and outdated where? It's very much happening in Nigeria now, just open your eyes. Your ego comes before anything, especially anything related to women. I get ur narrative and all,but ur beginning to make it seem like in life or relationships, women are supposed to be in a financial race(competition, cos u have used that word a couple of times) with their male counterparts, its suppose to be two people working to further their chosen careers while finding nuture, solace and growth in each other for the tedious journey ahead. |
Romance › Re: Nigerian Men, you Are Confused by VERDA: 7:07am On Dec 28, 2017 |
Purebeerry: That is not true my sister, they love being dominant and most of them love dependent lady, they derive joy from being the one to give, imagine a guy told a lady he is dating that he will be paying her school fees and caring for her school needs, its his responsibility even though the lady doesn't want him to,
now when this guy does that, he is indirectly massaging his ego and he feels he is dominant and in control.
A guy once told me he is not into working class ladies, that they are too full of themselves; they are arrogant, not submissive etc. Lmfao. The OP has a very good point about the insecurity in a lot of men and all,you have a good point too,but I can relate to what the guy said about the arrogance of a lot of working class ladies(not generalizing),I and my aunt were talking about this same issue yesterday, there are a lot of assholes who call themselves men but generally speaking men feel responsible for their woman and act accordingly,a lot of women on the other part turn monsters and start disrespecting their man once they start earning much more, and I am talking about women that were once very humble and homely, its almost like wealth and power is a weakness for a lot of women, especially wen it comes to their relationships,I have seen three or so marriages of my friends parents crumble as a result of this,in my aunt's friends case she started fighting and disrespecting her husband just cos he was not payed salary for a few months, and she had to cater for the home with her small salary, this is a hard working man that paid for her schooling and even built their own house in their early marriage lol...honestly sometimes, the way a lot of women act once they are in a position of wealth and power is scary, most times their relationships suffer wen their is down. |
Romance › Re: Date A Girl In Your Financial Lane by VERDA: 9:08am On Dec 23, 2017 |
9jaDoc: It is not mumu. Men want casual sex (but not with declared olosho). That's what they are paying to hopefully get. If "no sex" is declared from onset , women will happily pay their way... And believe me most men won't give a woman a dime Lol...declared olosho ke, you make it seem like women hate sex and its a favor they are doing for the men at a great inconvenience hence the payment, sex is supposed to be free,an expression of urself, for pleasure,a gift of "both" ur bodies as an expression of care, prove of attraction,an expression of love, when paid for it looses its sacredness, i get ur point sha, sometimes men want sharp pleasure, women want commitment,as a compromise money exchanges hands, under cover prostitution lol,but then again I blame our economy and faulty ideas about sex.....I don dey speak plenty English,I hope you catch my drift tho. |
Romance › Re: Date A Girl In Your Financial Lane by VERDA: 11:14pm On Dec 22, 2017 |
9jaDoc: You know, then why did u write this:
"If that is the case, then most of these slay Queens online, Hawking their bodies for sex and money, will go broke, which in turn make many ladies poor.. The rich guys that patronized them will have to go for their class, leaving the average slay Queens in poverty.. 90% of wealth ladies have all over the world were acquired as a result of their relationship with one rich man and the other.."
Clearly, you didn't know. You didn't know she said: "men should date women whose lifestyles they can finance" Hmmmm, i get the OP...but is financing a woman's lifestyle suppose to be a mans job?,Any woman that wants to live a certain way should get a job but then again, our men have been mumuing for women since the days of john the Baptist. |

revolt: so how did china become so powerful? You don't know they shut their gates to the outside world.... Nyways waste of gym Yes in the past they shut their doors to the outside world, but that involved finished products and all, they still relied heavily on imports of raw materials and all,and once they achieved their aim they had to open up to the world if not their growth would have stopped, following a downward spiral, that's how these things work.No country has every single raw materials or products it needs to thrive. |

revolt: oga read history before WWII after WWI us isolated itself, and that's how they were able to help conquer Germany and Japan while supplying the rest of their allies vast resources. If you're one of those that thinks US can't stand by itself you must b a joker .but what will happen to the rest of those nations they invest massively in? Like nigeria We are talking about the world at present and you are talking about WW11 and WW1,have you heard the word globalization??,and I am glad you admitted in your write up that they supplied their "ALLIES"....I stand by what I said, the US can not stand alone...can it consume all it produces, don't you know its massive export are one of its greatest strengths?,you must think a country just cuts economic ties just like that, why have they not cut ties with China with all their noise making,China holds the highest % of US debt...so oga history is good in so far as its lessons are used to solve current problems. You should follow current trends better. |

Which is the risk of losing US support in our economy via buying our oil. Is that what you'd trade for a useless vote of sentiments. You just confirmed my point, and we wonder why there is so much wickedness in the world, since it does not affect me its not my problem...will the US equally halt trade with almost half of the world??,do you think the US can survive on its own??,even its major allies voted against them so what are you saying??. |

The fuel marketers have decided to hoard the fuel and the law enforcement agency do nothing than to go to them and take their own chair from them thereby leaving the masses to suffer. At a deeper level and for the sake of humanity, decisions should be about doing what we think and feel is right irrespective of the repercussions,we bring this same sentiment of not being independent minded to our daily lives and watch people misbehave and inflict injury on others but we keep quiet because of what we are benefiting from them, this is the worst form of non love, really sad....the US reserves the right to choose where they wish their embassy to be just as other countries have a right to their votes in the UN,is it not curious that more than half the world sees the US's decision as an impediment to peace??,the whole world can't be wrong and the US right. |

Diiet: Innoson is the one handling this issue poorly. He's the one playing the tribal card instead of providing details of how the repayment of the loan he took from the bank was made. His inability to do that is a pointer that he hasn't payback his debt?
GTB also leveled a deadly allegation against him, that he forged the signature of its staffs to secure some of his goods at the port.Believe me, no bank will be willing to be partner in business with him because of this. How did he play a tribal card??,did you hear him say anything about his tribe in all this??,its other people playing the tribal card, mind you the same case against him was struck out by a competent court for lack of merit and he refiled for total dismisal. We should always endeavour to get our facts right. |

Rainmania: If he actually forged documents to get tax waivers. Then he is nothing but a common Yahoo boy and he deserves what he got. The only thing on his side are his kinsmen who quickly ran online to offer only one side of the story. And it wasn't a suprise that the National Assembly is condemning his arrest. What do one expect from a National Assembly where almost all the members are being investigated by EFCC . They are all crooks and criminals the lot of them GTB are cooperate thieves and should be fined by the appropriate regulatory financial body for illegal deductions from a customer's account. It goes to show we are all conmen in this country. We just call it by different names when we are outed. What forged documents?,the same case a competent court struck out for lack of merit?,and he file another suit for total dismissal?,we all need to get our facts right most times before commenting,my only anger is people turning it into a tribal war.I tire for this country. |
