Sometimes FBN do not send alert when crediting your account for TB at maturity. Other times some people rollover investment mistakenly without knowing. What you should do is first of all, check your account balance to be sure it's not been credited; if so then contact the bank to know why..

There will be always buyers to buy at most it will take you a couple of days.

I just coined the word "lending market". What I meant is that banks/individual sell of their TBs and invested the money in lending. They prefer to loan out their money since it has higher returns.

I think what it meant is that a lot of people are selling off their TBs to invest in lending market. This will not lead to interest rate increase for TBs

The profit is calculated on simple interest. Let say the auction for a year is at 13% interest that mean you will make 1.3 million naira on 10 million naira investment for a year and the money will be paid up front. But you will receive a little less than 1.3 million because of bank charges and commission which is usually very minimal.

Am very annoyed right now. I submitted my form for TB secondary market with first bank since friday and it was not treated. Yesterday early in the morning ,I was told that it has been treated yet account was not deducted, this afternoon, I noticed it has been deducted and the interest which I got was 197,294.81 for 191days (N3.4m). From my calculation, it's not up to 11%even. Can someone help me recalculate pls.

191 days is a little bit above six months which is about 1/2 of a year so your interest would be prorated for 191 days which will be approximately half of what you will be entitled to if you had done 364 days. From my calculations you were given approx 11.03%. But your true interest should be a little more than that but banks will collect some charges which include:
Commission = 0.125%
Custody fee = 0.10% per transaction ( per investment)
Transaction fee = N100.00 per transaction (per investment)
VAT = 5% on commission, custody fee and transaction fees.
These charges may vary a little from bank to bank. So in the real sense your interest maybe up to 11.2% but you can only be sure when you collect your TB certificate.
