People have been hammering on this exclusive right shit for long but i just kept quiet, yes DSTV has the exclusive right to sub saharan Africa but Nigeria not inclusive bro that is the major reason why terestial stations like CTL and others were able to link up with bein sports for rebroadcast of the live premier league. So in the real sense TSTV also got the right to rebroadcast same league from an exclusive right owner like bein sports, however DSTV too was supposed to sell such rights to other channels too but due to their greediness they refused, same thing they did to Hitv when they lost their broadcast rights they were to sub let their rights to hitv for rebroadcast but they bluntly refused but hitv in their own magnanimity gave them right to broadcast 20% of matches. So all this noise about exclusivity is un called for the truth here is that DSTV has been found out they have been doing it for long unchallenged but right now Nigerians are wise no where in the world would a paytv operator have controll over everything but due to corruption it happened in Nigeria. If u remember clearly even the senators are becoming tired of the said DSTV when they raised a motion that they should look into their pricing. So in conclusion DSTV had better adjust or leave cause the party is over.

1.) Not researching on the market:

There are two concepts to this:

One, they didn't research the business model. Sir, you can't be selling 50 naira pure water and be expecting to become a multi millionaire in a year. Neither can you be selling 10 naira biscuit and expect to make a million in the next two months. Do the math

1,000,000 ÷ 10 = 100,000

You have to sell 10 naira biscuit to hundred thousand customers. It doesn't work that way,sir.

Selling pure water to get to a million doesn't work the same way as selling commodities of 200k to get to a million.

The second concept is lack of market research: In order to have your business boom, you have to stand out amongst the crowd. If your name doesn't enter people's mind when it comes to expertise in a specific niche or field, brother sister, you have a very long way to go.

You must be the best and be known to offer quality if you want people to chase you with their money.

You have to identify the ups and downs in the market. Imagine you live on a State that's known for fish markets and of all things that comes to your mind to sell is fish?

You shouldn't set your business in an area that already has a product in abundance making it very difficult to break in. You don't need a layman to tell you that everyone in the State will be selling fish equally. This is a mistake that will result in failure from the start. You have to find an opening or unmet need within a market and then fill it rather than try and push your product or service in. It's a lot easier to satisfy a need rather than create one and convince people that they should spend money on it.

Before I forget, make sure you get what the market NEEDS not what you want or what you think they NEED. There's a difference

2.) Not drafting out a business plan

You should have a plan for your business. The plan should clearly state the goals you want to achieve, how you will achieve those goals and the solutions to possible problems you will encounter along the way.

A life with no goal is a life with no flow.

If you have a solid business plan, you'll always know how your money enters and how it goes out. In other words, you'll be able to track the flow of your income. Whether you're wasting your multi millions or you're putting them to good use.

To cut the long story short, you need to have a visible and solid plan of your growth strategy. That's the only way you can improve and continue growing.

3.) Marketing strategy is not creative enough:

Back in the days were the existence of billboards, posters and newspaper ads. They were the only way to market goods.

Bringing the business online is the easy part.
