Hello mamas in the house, m a FTM and i want the experienced mums to help answer this question. I am 35weeks+4 and i had a Dr's appointment yesterday in which the Dr examined me and said i am 2cm dilated already. Does it mean that i may give birth soon or what? I used to think that when u r dilating,u r already starting to fall into labour. Pls shed light on this for me. Thanks

yes o.. ur baby is getting ready to meet u. tho ur cervix can stay at 2cm until u get to 40wks.. One of our first time mamas here smokeydrinky(I think) gave birth @ 35 wks to a healthy princess. som ppl dnt experience labour pains like one of our mamas here (lovinam) was 8cm n stil smiling.. jus ask ur doc to explain clearly wot he saw. may God mk it easy for u.

@all please I ve been stooling since yesterday night. I don go toilet 6times from 9pm last nite till 6am this morning. I called my doctor and he asked me to use talazole 4 to start and 2 to continue, flagyl 2-2, and ORS. Hope it's safe. I'm 39weeks gone.

can't c d rash o.. may be heat rash. keep him in a well ventilated room, wear cotton clothing, don't 'overcover', u can use risin ravin powder or agnesia taking care to avoid him inhaling d powder. try to c a paediatrician to get it evaluated too.
for d poo, if he's not showin discomfort, he's fine since its breasstmilk n water u r givin him. though I think he'll be fine wtout water. I did exclusive for 6mnths. all d best.

@Sayoberry, usually, for twin pregnancy, d most 'important' twin is d first. If d first presents, head down(cephalic) and d 2nd is breech, vag delivery is possible.So keep praying, God is able to grant ur wish.*hugs*

amen. reading dis post again just made me break down in tears. d brreast pain is as a result of milk engorgement.
1. wear a very tight bra all day n night
2. use cold compress (ice packs wrapped in cloth) on them to ease d pain. don't use hot or warm water because it wil mk d milk start flowin
3. a friend said she used iced cabbage leaves put inside her bra 24/7 wen she had breasst engorgement from weanin n it stopped- don't know ow tru ds is tho.
4. deres a drug used bt usually has side effects so Its best to use d other methods. u can tk paracetamol nt exceeding 8 tabs in 24hrs. 2 tabs per time.

on my labia majora not inside my vg. Jst missed my period.

its most likely hormones. preg comes wt lots of funny stuff. had d experience in early preg n evn did tests wch wer negative of microorganisms bt no show..later went by itself. a friend stopped wearin pants n her own stopped. nothing to worry about except d itch bcoms unbearable & if its frm inside. u can still c ur obgyn tho.. things u can do to feel better: rub clotrimazole vaginaal cream on d labia to soothe it, wear only cotton underwear, dont douche, take lots of water, ease up on sugary foods.

Hmmm, the other two vaccines (OPV and penta) costed 3k, making 22.5k. Maybe we use the same hospital, lol.

U r lucky he's opening his mouth to adult food oo, try to time his meal 3 hourly then u increase gradually as he grows. My 11months old baby is so bent on breastmilk.. sucks all nite and wil nt accept any solid food as long as he want to suck.. they wil grow out of it, it's a gradual process.. joy and pain of motherhood, pray God reward us bountifully

Good Morning wonderful and blessed women, please i am scared to my pants here, i woke up with abdominal pain in d middle of the night, drank lots of water, it later went down but i also noticed i have been feeling baby kicks but didnt fell it like before yesterday and up till this mrg, usually when i get to work and sit the kicks are kinda much but nothing since, should i be scared and rush to the hospital?

don't b scared. anytime u feel something unusual, call ur doctor. u can go to d hosp & c ur obgyn to calm ur mind. its well

Wow,my baby has stoped taking cereal.its always war when i try feeding him with cereal.so i glady settled for solid and he likes it much.he eats everything now,anything eatable*lool*,unlike before.if his not taking much at this stage,just be cool;its their time now[intial gra gra stage] it will pass.

I wil stop d cereal because av bought almost all types in d market yet he refuses to take- both wt spoon & feeding bottle (tried different textures too ) but if its rice, spaghetti/macaroni, moimoi or anything else we eat, u ll c him opening mouth & chewing happily wt his 2 teeth.. being a mom no b beans ooo!

My mother inlaw came and she did her thing, and few hours later, my wife came out excited with a poo filled short and started calling anyone who cared to pick her call that her child has finally poo poked.
smh. I was set to take the child to hospital last Friday, cos it was beginning to disturb us.

I took my baby for vaccination today and was told Rotavirus and pneumoccocal is N19,500. Please is it that expensive everywhere? I couldn't give her because I didn't have that much?

paid 16,500 when my son took his. pneumoccocal is 10k in my hospital. i hear its 8k in govt hosp. pls try o.. very impt vaccines. my neighbours almost 2 yr old kid is yet to walk cos of pneumonia (so d mom said)

It was a painful sad experience, but I know God knows best. I have the faith that very soon in sha Allah, I'll be amongst the pregnant mamas on this thread again. It shall be well.

welcome on board d tiredness n nausea is part of d package. u can start ANC now. start taking folic acid - very impt (1tab) just eat as u normally would NOT for 2 & incorporate mor healthy stuff- protein, veggies.
