That's crazy. I don't have contractions yet I dilate. I went from 2cm to10cm without kpim from me. The had to put drip when I got to 8cm so I can have a heavy contraction enough to push. I was gisting away. I think you should go back. Also take a 40mins walk. Don't just lie down, I know its hard to but it will speed things up

U can start ANC now. U can read some pages back to get information. Most foods are okay. I think someone mentioned that uda is not safe, too much bitter kola & lime are also not safe. Start taking folic acid. Take enough fluids.

I feel he doesnt feed well. He feels satisfied on only one breast n doesnt take up to 4mins and he's done (though he sucks very fast n chokes n my breast feels soft afterwards). I also want him to gain more weight.

In my opinion, he's doing fine. As long as he seems satisfied after eating- no crying etc, u shd nt worry. How often does he suck? What's his weight? How old is he?

Thanks! I'm a huge supporter of no self-medication too...just felt infant gaviscon was like paracetamol that is widely accepted.

My first child never had it. She quietens when placed tummy down though...but she hardly burps, you can spend 20mins burping her and nothing will come out. Warm compress used to work, but doesnt seem to workanymore.

Well, I don't give paracetamol anyhow o.. u no all ds drugs av side effects wt prolonged use.
Nothing has to come out wen u burp her- just d belching sound is enough. U can also rub ur hand on her tummy clockwise and massage her tummy wt warm towel during bath time

I figured out my 2 week old baby as silent reflux. It started the same day I tool beveragr and milk (Friday)...and I read online that some babies are allergic to milk proteins. I have since stopped taking milk and milk products. She archs her back, pulls her knees up to her tummy and is in obvious discomfort...does not spit up though...and this happens after every feed. It gets worse when you lay her on her back to sleep. I intend getting infant gaviscon, but would like to know if anyone here has used it

Any other possible solutions/treatments are welcome also.

Also, sometimes it seems like gas pains...should I get infacol first?

pls see the paediatrician b4 administering drugs. u can lie her on her tummy or side wedged wt cloth, don't put her on her back. It's common with a lot of newborns, I guess it's their tummy getting used to d new food. just burp her well b4 u put her down, should be a thing of d past by 3 months. mine experienced it sortof & I didn't use anything for him neither did I stop drinking milk or eating eggs, nuts etc.

u can get the flask from the market and baby shops. it keeps water hot for like 2 days bt den u should be boiling fresh water daily. b4 u buy, open the cover and put to ur ear, it should av a hollow sound like the breakable type - dats how u know d original. buy it from someone u know sells good stuff. but because its unbreakable doesn't mean u should be letting it drop on d floor as dat weakens it. tnk God ur baby is fine now. I didn't give mine any medicine just ORS.

Since he is teething, pls monitor what goes into his mouth. Buy teething ring and keep it clean/ sterilized. the ones with silicon can go to the fridge.

People say stools while teething is as a result of 'not so clean' things the baby put in their mouth to relieve their itching gum

My daughter just sprung four teeth and she had the slimy okro poop for two or so days but she is fine now, just fussy and whiny,no temperature

My sister, he has teething rings o wch I wash, sterilize wt milton liquid den still use hot water to rinse. If I put it in d fridge, I keep in sterilised plate wt cover. I'm also careful wt his toys and wot he puts in his mouth. I wash his hands severally as he's fond of putting his hands in his mouth since he was abt 4 months so I don't think it's hygiene issue.
How nice for ur daughter eagerly awaiting my LO's own; maybe we'll go to bed one night den wake up d nxt morn and c teeth

its actually 1 satchet of ORS to 1litre of water. 1 big eva is 1.5litres, so u ll need to reduce d water to abt d upper label on d bottle.
