Getting married, for them, is charting a course and making a life for themselves. It's their choice. Most of our parents got married very early and today they have no regrets. As long as they are physically, emotionally and financially matured, I see no reason why young people can't have relationships at that age. After all, a lot of these relationships do lead to marriage.
However, the op isn't pyschologically equipped to handle a relationship now because of her experiences as a child which has left her scarred.
@op, you need to tell your parents about it because it is part of the healing process which you have to go through in order to move on.
