I reckon you gentlemen and ladies have noticed a growing trend where ladies/girls thoughtlessly but excitedly take photos in hotel rooms, lavatory and lobby, supposedly in a bid to give an impression of class and glamour but unwittingly giving off a sense/impression of indecency and promiscuity.

Don't they ever imagine that people would recognise a hotel room, lobby and environment from its background? I was simply going through the photos of a female friend on her phone, lo and behold, I saw photos of she and another female friend in a hotel room with varying postures. Then I bluntly told her, "this photo was taken in a hotel". Then in a weak attempt to defend herself, she said "so somebody's house cannot have this same look"? At that point, she knew that I knew the truth. She felt awkward.

So, when taking that photo in that nice little hotel next time, let even your subconscious be aware that we can recognise a hotel when we see one, or save yourself the embarrassment if you are not up for it and knock it off. There are innumerable spots and scenery to take awesome photos. Except of course you prefer the "hotel facade" and want to prove to us that you are a hustling kind.

South African court has criticised the
government for letting Sudan's President
Omar al-Bashir leave the country despite an
International Criminal Court arrest warrant.
The court asked the public prosecutor to investigate
if the government had broken the law.
Mr Bashir denies the ICC charge he committed war
crimes in Darfur.
A court had ordered him to stay in South Africa while
it ruled whether he could be arrested.
He had gone to South Africa for an African Union
summit and the government argued he enjoyed
diplomatic immunity.
He left the summit early, before the court could rule
on this issue.
The BBC's Nomsa Maseko in Pretoria says that
Judge Dunstan Mlambo suggested there was reason
to believe that the South African government had
committed a crime by ignoring the court order.
The judge's three questions:
1. How was it possible that President al-Bashir
would, with his whole entourage, travel to the
airbase without the respondents knowledge?
2. How was it possible that the Sudanese plane
would take off from the airbase without the
respondents knowing whether President Bashir
was on board?
3. How would that plane be able to land in Sudan
by late afternoon if it had not departed at about
noon that same day?
He gave the government 24 hours to explain why
and how Mr Bashir was allowed to leave the country.
The judge explained that the wider consequences
could be huge - saying the state cannot function if it
ignores court orders.
"If the state... does not abide by court orders, the
democratic edifice will crumble stone-by-stone until
it collapses," he said.

Bauchi—Bauchi State High Court yesterday
sentenced to death by hanging Ibrahim Idris, 40, for
killing a six-year-old girl after failing in his attempt to
rape her.
Idris was dragged to the court, presided over by
Justice Yelim Bogoro, by the state Director of Public
Prosecution, DPP, Dawud Yakubu, who charged him
with culpable homicide, an offence contrary to
section 221 of the state law.
Dawud told the court that on September 14, 2012, the
accused called the deceased, Asiya Mohammed, into
his room with the intention to rape her.
He said when she refused, he used a knife to sever
her head, put it in a polythene bag and threw it into a
water channel.
He said the body of the deceased was recovered and
taken to General Hospital, Darazo, for post-mortem
examination before it was later handed over to her
parents for burial.
He called five witnesses and presented the axe and
knife the accused used to cut the head of the
deceased as exhibits and the witnesses testified that
he made a confessional statement.
In her judgement, Justice Bogoro said the
confessional statement of the accused was direct,
adding that the prosecutor proved his case beyond all
reasonable doubt and sentenced the accused to death
by hanging.
Justice Bogoro said: “I, hereby, sentence you to
death by hanging, but you have the right to appeal
within 30 days.”

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has berated the Peoples Democratic Party for asking Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to probe his successor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN).

The APC, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, on Tuesday, said the people of Lagos would not take the PDP seriously if it continues to make baseless and unrealistic accusations.

The APC said it was not a surprise that the Lagos PDP has continued to demonstrate traits that show it as a “jesting group which has no meaningful thing to contribute to the growth and progress of Lagos.”

The statement read, “As laughable and childish as the PDP’s latest rant is, we dare say that we are not in the culture of dignifying confused thoughts of a cabal that has yet to play down their continued horrible fate in the hands of Lagosians.

“With the historic defeat of the PDP at the centre where they ran Nigeria to total bankruptcy and near collapse even with very bounteous oil earnings, it is not difficult to locate why Lagos PDP is hit by a gale of total confusion that finds expression in the inchoate and disoriented ranting it spews out these days as press statements.”

The ruling party said that its achievements in Lagos in the last 16 years were visible to even the blind.

It said it was hypocritical of the Lagos PDP to criticise Fashola for doing well but continued to praise the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan who emptied the nation’s treasury.

The APC said the Lagos PDP was only crying because it had lost its source of funding which was the Jonathan-led administration.

It said, “Let us recall the sordid events of the last electioneering period when out of desperation, the PDP practically relocated to Lagos, where former President Jonathan unleashed billions of illicit dollars and pound sterling to buy Lagosians.

“He procured hoodlums and touts of all shades and mobilised them to lay siege to Lagos. He commissioned a very dangerous hate politics aimed at greatly dividing Lagosians along tribal lines, commissioned a band of religious merchants to sell the rotten PDP message but these not only failed him and the PDP woefully in Lagos, it also failed to prevent the huge defeat he and the PDP suffered in the general election.”
