Politics / Aisha Buhari’s ADC Released, Sent Out Of The Villa by Viktom(m): 1:39am On Jun 16, 2020
Aide De Camp to Mrs Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady, Usman Shugaba, has been released by the police authorities after being arrested and detained since last week alongside other security personnel attached to Mrs Buhari.

According to sources close to Aso Villa, Shugaba was released earlier on Monday and immediately reassigned to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

A former ADC to Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, Shugaba is believed to know so many secrets of top aides in the Presidency including those of members of the ‘cabal’, a bunch of individuals with close links to the President and unparalleled influence.

For this reason, Shugaba is seen as a threat especially by this group of persons, who now consider Mrs Buhari to be their major stumbling block in continuing to ‘manipulate’ the President in their favour.

Recall that the latest crisis in Aso Villa leading to the arrest and detention of Shugaba and other security personnel attached to the First Lady started last Monday when Buhari’s Personal Assistant and Private Secretary, Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf, refused to embark on a 14-day isolation upon returning from a private trip to Lagos.

After refusing to self-isolate for the said period and forcing his way into Aso Villa, Shugaba and his colleagues rough-handled Yusuf, who later escaped to the residence of Mamman Daura, Buhari’s nephew and member of the ‘cabal’, on Thursday evening.

Subsequently, Yusuf with the active connivance of Buhari’s Chief Security Officer, Idris Kassim, ordered the Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, to arrest Shugaba, Escort Commander and other policemen attached to the first family.

It was claimed that gunshots were fired in the process of trying to get Yusuf out of the Villa, thereby breaching security code around the President, who called for a probe into the incident.

As a result of that incident, a full blown war has since emerged between Mrs Buhari, Yusuf and other members of the ‘cabal’ desperate to whittle down her influence in Aso Villa.

SaharaReporters reported  that the crisis is far from over as Mrs Buhari is said to be hatching a plot to take a heavy pound of flesh in retaliation for the embarrassment received.

Throwback:
Obaseki! oba seri mo ogiri.

A nonentity is gifted the governorship that the likes of Imasuagbon, Imasuen, and Ize Iyamu have been trying tooth and nail to achieve, yet he attempted to destroy his benefactor as his gratitude.

The same benefactor whose senatorial zone votes ensured his victory.

Obaseki is finished.

Let him go back and win his ward that he lost to Ize Iyamu in 2016. He can manage to become a Ward Councillor by his own merit.

Has anyone noticed that the tribe of ingrates are always supporting back-stabbers, yet they always lament the most about betrayal.

This is the same tribe that every governor they have had, have always betrayed the benefactor that got them into office.

A tribe of backstabbers such that no clansman politician manages to get to the top before he is pulled down by his own people.

Politics / My Advice For Governor Obaseki by Viktom(m): 5:04pm On Jun 15, 2020
MY ADVICE FOR GOVERNOR OBASEKI

I am simply Victor,
Your Excellency, I may not be good with the courtesy that accompanies a letter to a sitting governor, please forgive me if i err on this part. Though not an indigene of Edo state but I have spent the last twelve years of my life in this state. And by virtue of this I qualify to have my voice in matters of interest in this state, as it affects not just the indigenes of the state but also non-indigenes of which I am one. Your re-election bid is a matter of interest to me because your detractors have not accused you of non-performance but disloyalty which followers of Nigerian politics understands it meaning. This is the reason for my advice to you as a follower of Nigerian politics and a lover of Edo state and its people.
Decamp to PDP; though it has been rumored in some quarters that you have defected to the PDP already but it is of utmost importance that you make it official as soon as possible so that your followers will know where to pitch their tents. With respect to other political parties but only the PDP can offer you the platform on which you can get re-election. Just like you know Sir, how Ize-Iyamu gave you a push in 2016 and that’s not due to his candidature but the structure of the PDP and if the PDP could offer him such structures as an opposition party then it can offer you a structure to win as soon as it becomes the ruling party by the virtue of your defection.
Recruit strategists into your team; Sir, forget about noise makers they can only offer you their votes, instead recruit strategists and let them lead from the front and if noise makers are required then they can lead from the back. I guess you have not forgotten so soon the intrigues of the presidential election in 2015 which the sitting president lost to the current president, which owed in part to noise makers leading his campaign instead of strategists.
Meet Okowa; I didn’t say this because he is my state governor but he is a man that has never lost any election he contested. In as much as I don’t like him so much but I respect his achievements and political astuteness. It has been said that you have visited Mr. Nyesom Wike of Rivers and his Akwa Ibom counterpart in Mr. Udom Emmanuel. These two governors are important in PDP but you need the calmness and assurance that comes with Okowa’s presence.
Wield your powers; with all due respect to Oshiomhole, he has wielded his powers as the national chairman of the APC and now it is you turn to use yours as a sitting governor. Take a leave from Udom Emmanuel and show your haters the Akwa Ibom style.
Don’t sacrifice Shaibu for anything; Philip Shaibu is an astute and a formidable deputy and most importantly Mr. Governor, he is loyal and also has a huge followership and so should not be the fall guy, if His Excellency desires re-election.
If my service will ever be required Mr. Governor, I can deliver block vote from Okuaihe to Igbogiri and even up to Ugan. And I will do that for free.
Trust me Mr. Governor your people are behind you.
God bless Edo State
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and
God bless you too Mr. Governor.

Edo indigene writes to Governor Obaseki to declare her support with reasons

A letter to my Governor.

Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki,

The Executive Governor Of Edo State.

Dear sir,

The onfolding events of the last few days has necessitated my coming out of my self induced political apathy.

Any one who knows me can attest to my known stand of deliberately staying away from the shenanigans that pervades the political ecosystem in Nigeria, but not anymore!

As a proud citizen of Edo State, I bear witness to the phenomenal development witnessed in the state since you assumed office.

I recall on one occasion my friends who came in from out of town, and were booked to stay at Protea Hotel mistakenly went to the newly built secretariat along High Court Road.

They mistook it for Protea hotel, unbelievable!

A government building looking like a five star hotel!

That tells the level of finesse you bring into governance.

Your reign has brought peace and sanity to our city.

We have witnessed a sharp drop in crime and criminality.

As an entrepreneur who has all her businesses headquartered in Benin City,I say thank you sir for creating a very conducive environment for my businesses to thrive.

Sir, i have also witnessed first hand your investment in intellectual capacity development with novel ideas like the EDO job platform which creates a fair playing ground for all job seeking indigenes of our great state.

You have continuously put your money where your mouth is by paying salaries as and when due.

No pensioners protest because you made sure they got their stipends timely.

My Governor, I recall when you appointed my friend, Dr Joan Oviawe to head SUBEB and revolutionize the public education sector. You won my love immediately.

Our roads are tarred!

No more Agberos!

Infact, because of you we are no longer called ANCIENT CITY!

We appreciate you for all you are as a leader.

It then becomes worrisome that some persons will decide to play God with our collective destiny.

Never!

Fools thrive where good men refuse to thread!

It’s on this note that I render my unalloyed support and time to your second term bid.

I stand with you and for you sir!

No more will ‘AGBEROISM’ thrive in EDO STATE !

No more!

Edo is not Lagos!

No to GOD-FATHERISM!

I hereby also use this medium to invite all well meaning Edolites who have hitherto stayed away from mainstream politics to step forward.

Our “wake and see Governor “ needs us now!

We have have seen what happens when a technocrat is in power!

We can’t afford to be spectators in our own lives!

So please let’s dust our voters card ,acquire membership card of any party our Governor defects to and i enjoin you all to do same please.

Come out on Election Day to cast our vote and defend our vote!

Sir,anywhere you go I go!

GODWIN OBASEKI all the way!

4+4=Torgba!

May God bless Edo State

May God keep our revered King(Oba gha too pee )

May God bless the federal republic of Nigeria

EDO 2020: Plans to cushion Obaseki’s re-election by APC govs failed

inside details of what Oshiomhole discussed with 7 APC govs

Wait and see what ‘ll happen in my next 4 yrs, Obaseki tells Edo people

Court declines injunction on APC primary, fixes date for hearing

IF Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State joined seven of his colleagues to meet the National Working Committee, NWC of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday, it would have gone a long way to end the feud between him and APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Seven APC governors had met with Comrade Oshiomhole in his Abuja residence to reconcile him with Governor Obaseki.

Oshiomhole and Obaseki have been at loggerheads over the governorship election in Edo State.

The governors, in attendance at the meeting were led by the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.

Other governors present were Simon Lalong (Plateau), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Mohammed Inuwa (Gombe), Umar Ganduje (Kano), Rotimi Akeredeolu (Ondo), and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara).

It was further gathered that Oshiomhole, in an attempt to set the records straight, reeled out the genesis of the crisis between him and Obaseki, adding that the governor had botched many reconciliation moves made by him.

The source said: “When the governors came for the reconciliation meeting, Oshiomhole showed evidences of text messages he had sent to Governor Obaseki and his deputy on several occasions to settle the differences between them. Rather than come for the meeting, the governor failed to show up at every point in time and this makes it difficult for the comrade to do anything. It is on record that the governor has refused to patronize party elders and leaders, who will mobilize other members during the election.

“Oshiomhole made it clear to the governors that it is not about Obaseki but about the party in Edo winning the elections. Oshiomhole even expressed surprise that Obaseki was not at a meeting his fellow governors called to reconcile them.

“Obaseki and the governors visited Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and the President but when it was time to meet with him, he refused to join the governors. That shows that the governor is not out for peace.

“After his remarks, the governors were shocked as they were not aware of all these details. In fact, the Kwara governor expressed shock at the meeting, saying that he was not aware of the moves made by Oshiomhole. You can see that the governor is not interested in any reconciliation move.”

The PGF chairman, Atiku Bagudu, said that the meeting became necessary to resolve many outstanding issues that almost consumed the party.

How soft-landing move failed

Although Bagudu denied broaching the issue of the mode of primary election in Edo State, multiple party sources who were privy to the outcome of the meeting said the governors had wanted the party to sanction the indirect primary method for the state as being canvassed by Mr Obaseki.

Having listened to the governors, Oshiomhole had insisted that the mode of primary would be the direct method, hinging his action on the 2018 decision of a meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC of the party.

Oshiomhole was said to have insisted that fielding the incumbent would incur losses for the party, saying the governor is not on good terms with political players in the state.

“There are 14 lawmakers who have not been sworn in until now by the governor. Oshiomhole told the governors who visited the party that those 14 lawmakers who were elected by their own people could go against Obaseki should he be given the ticket”, said a party source.

Another source said the party is not ready to lose the state and that the national chairman would in the coming days meet President Muhammadu Buhari on the Edo issue.

“Sure, he will be meeting with the president soon but of course you know that Mr President is a man who sticks to the law. He would want the party’s constitution to be respected.

“The NEC already took a position on the mode of primary elections and the president was part of that NEC meeting. If there must be indirect primary in any state, there are certain conditions that must be met and none has been met in the case of Edo”, he added.

NEC Position

Section 13 (V) of the APC Constitution (2014 as amended) stipulates that the NWC, “shall in particular, propose to the National Executive Committee NEC, Party electoral regulations, to govern the conduct of elections to all Party offices at every level and to govern the Procedure for selecting Party candidates for elective offices, subject to the of this Constitution.”

And so it was that the NWC on August 30, 2018 proposed the direct method of primary to the NEC. The said meeting consequently stipulated how primary elections should be conducted. While it can be argued that the NEC resolutions were for the 2019 General Elections, it might be instructive to add that no further meetings of NEC have been held to invalidate its 2018 decision regarding the mode of primaries.

Court declines injunction on APC primary, fixed date for hearing

The F‎ederal High Court sitting in Benin City, yesterday, declined to issue a restraining order stopping the APC from adopting direct primary but rather reserved legal arguments on the motion seeking to prevent the National Working Committee of the party and the party’s National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, from using direct primaries to elect Edo State governorship candidate of the party till next week Monday.

Joined in the suit, is the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Factional State deputy Chairman of the party, Pastor Kenneth Asemokhai and a governorship aspirant of the party, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, who approached the Court, are seeking to r‎estrain the APC from adopting the direct mode of primaries.

They cited COVID-19 and 2018 APC NEC resolution as the ground for their action.

An argument however ensued when defendants Lawyers led by H. O Ogbodu (SAN), appeared in the matter and demanded to be served the motion papers.

The presiding Judge, Justice M.D Umar, declined to grant the ex parte motion but instead gave the defendants three days to file their papers to show cause why the injunction should not be granted and adjourned the case till next week Monday.

Wait and see what ‘ll happen in my next 4-yrs, Obaseki tells Edo people

However, an optimistic Governor Obaseki has assured the people of Edo that there will be massive transformation in his second term of four years.

This is as a group of Edo indigenes in Abuja under the umbrella of Obaseki Mandate Forum, OMF, said it has made plans to mobilize indigenes of the state at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and other states of the federation to transfer their Permanent Voters Card, PVCs to ensure that the governor is re-elected.

Speaking when he received the OMF at the Edo Liaison Office, Abuja, Tuesday, Governor Obaseki said he was overwhelmed by the show of solidarity exhibited by the people towards his candidature.

He said that he was determined to cause a significant turn-around and change their fortunes in the area of agriculture and technical know-how of the people.

Speaking earlier, the Abuja-based group, Obaseki Mandate Forum asked the Governor not to allow the unfolding developments in the state to distract him, as it was poised to return him for a second term of four years.

The group called on all Edo indigenes in Lagos, Delta, Ondo, Kogi, Abuja, Kaduna and other parts of the country to besiege the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and begin the process of transferring their PVCs to the state to facilitate the re-election of the governor as the candidate of their choice in the forthcoming governorship election.

Spokesman of the group, His eminence Leslie Ebhotemhen, said the extended families in Owan, Afuze, Agenebode, Uromi, Ubiaja, Akoko Edo, Evbuotubu, Erediauwa, Usen, Elele, Siluko, Udo and other parts of Edo State, with membership across all the local governments with branches in contiguous states, were ready to drive the process to ensure his return and that of his deputy, Philip Shaibu to Government House, Benin.

According to him, “Make your findings at INEC, we have stimulated processes of Edos applying for transfer of their PVCs to Edo State for the purpose of the September 19 election, God sparing our lives, when we will return you to power.”

Addressing journalists, the Spokesman, accompanied by Chairman of the group, Chief Nathaniel Momoh, said the people whom the administration has touched their lives have already begun one of the most aggressive, massive mobilizations across the State to rally support for the continuation of Obaseki/Shaibu ticket.

Ize-Iyamu remains APC consensus Gov candidate – Inegbeniki

Meanwhile, former Senatorial candidate and leader of the APC in Edo Central Senatorial district, Chief Francis Inegbeniki, has insisted that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu remains the chosen and consensus governorship candidate of the party ahead of the September 19 governorship election in Edo State.

Inegbeniki, in a statement yesterday in Benin, said the people of Edo State would experience the next level agenda of APC and good governance if Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is elected.

He explained that other APC aspirants who had earlier endorsed Ize-Iyamu but have picked nomination forms did so for strategic reasons.

”With the candidacy of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as APC Governorship candidate, certainly the APC victory at the September 19 Governorship election is sure, because Edo is APC and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is a grassroots and popular politician in the state,” he said.

Ize-Iyamu welcomes new aspirants to APC ticket race

Meantime, Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu has welcomed the entrance of other aspirants into the race to clinch the APC ticket

Apart from Ize-Iyamu and Governor Godwin Obaseki, no fewer than four other persons have reportedly bought the nomination form to contest the June 22 primary.

A Chieftain of the party in Igueben Local Government Area, Barr Ken Ihensekhien said despite the number of persons buying the form, Ize-Iyamu remained the unanimous choice of party members for the ticket.

In a statement released by the Director of Communication and Media, Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organisation, John Mayaki the aspirant described the emergence of more aspirants as a welcome development that would strengthen the party’s internal democracy.

He said: “I welcome the entrance of my fellow party men into the contest for the governorship ticket of our great party, the All Progressives Congress. As I have said before, I remain resolute on the fact that we are all driven by a shared desire of developing Edo State, improving the standards of living of our people, and offering a better alternative to an incumbent that has failed our party and state.

“I believe that their participation will strengthen the internal democracy of our party and help us demonstrate once again that ambitions can be pursued without rancor.”

Obaseki/Oshiomhole’s feud vindicates me, says ex-CoS

As the crisis between Governor Obaseki and Oshiomhole continues, Obaseki’s former Chief of Staff, Taiwo Akerele, who resigned his position few weeks ago due to alleged administrative lapses has said that his position that dialogue and fence mending were the way out of the crisis has been proven.

He continued: “My position has always been that we are one big family, Oshiomhole is our father not just being a former governor of the state but also the current national chairman of our party and that Governor Obaseki remains the leader of the party in the state. I said Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is our man anytime any day and he is best of friends with Godwin Obaseki and what was happening was a normal political disagreement which is settleable. Every other issue is subsumed under this sub issue.

“I had maintained that in any case, no matter the degree of war, dialogue and peaceful settlement remain the ultimate but rather than taking this step, I was vilified by some persons who believed that the only way to show loyalty is how much they attack somebody who is opposed to their principal and in any case you will now discover that what they do or say is for pecuniary interest and not necessarily to help the cause of their principal.”

Primate Elijah Ayodele Prophecies On Protest In America Comes To Pass

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele’s prophecy on America has just come to pass.

The prophet had earlier predicted that he sees protests by the blacks against racism and killings in America. This was contained in the 2019 edition of his annual book of prophecy titled ‘Warning to the nations’.

In page 243 of the book, he wrote ‘’ Let us pray against racism in USA. Lets be careful of human rights abuses’

Also in page 245 of the book, he wrote ‘Black Americans will protest in the united states of America’.

As the man of God had said it, a week ago, the social media scene and USA was under serious tension over the death of a black America, George Floyd who was allegedly killed by the police. In a video shared online, a police officer was seen kneeling down on his neck despite the fact that he was saying faintly that he can’t breathe.

This development sparked controversies and there has been protest in the united states of America by the blacks over the killing. Some white too have joined to speak up against racisim, In confirmation of Primate Ayodele’s prophecy.

This also makes Primate Elijah Ayodele to be the first man of God to have spoken about this before it happened.

It is worthy of being noted that ever since Covid-19 started, Primate Elijah Ayodele has proven to be a true man of God with the prophecies he has given during this period, which some have come to pass already. Some of them includes hunger in the land, increase in crime rate, loss of important personalties to death, to mention a few.

He has also spoken publicly against the closure of worship centres, making it known that it is inciting the wrath of God. Weeks after he made this pronouncement, some governors, presidents have also said the same thing and have vowed to open religious centres.

Last year, he made it known that there will be problem between Hong Kong and China, he has reinstated this and maintained that Hong Kong will separate from China.

The prophet has also addressed the prophecy he made last year that America will break and California will leave. He explained that he was misquoted saying it will happen last year. He said it will definitely happen in the nearest future, also adding that Scotland will break from United Kingdom.

He had predicted the fracas between WHO and America, china and America three years ago.

In Syria, he stated that there can’t be peace there till Russia pulls out from Syria but with the support of Putin, it won’t be easy.

For China, He revealed that China can never be world leader, although America will stop being the world leader, a new country will emerge as world leader and that there will be another disaster that will cause the world a lot

‘China cannot lead the world, a new country will take over as the leader of the world’

‘There is going to be another disaster in the world, it will cause the world a lot’

The man of God also reacted to the killing of a young lady in Edo after she was raped, he stated that this is due to the security issue in the country which is in confirmation of his prophecy that peace will elude Nigeria if President Buhari fails to change his service chiefs

Sokoto Cleric Who Allegedly Called Governor el Rufai 'Small Bird’ Arrested And Taken To Kaduna

An Islamic Cleric, Malam Bello Yabo has been arrested by the police for allegedly making disparaging remarks including referring to the executive Governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir El-rufai as a' small bird' according to Daily Trust.

Malam Yabo was reportedly arrested in Sokoto on Friday by some plain-clothed policemen who came to his residence while saying the Asr prayer. He was immediately after the prayer after the plain-clothed policemen called him aside and showed him a paper which turned out to be warrant of arrest issued by a Magistrate court in Kaduna.

Yabo in a video clip believed to be recorded in one of his Ramadan preaching had condemned Governor El-rufai and scholars of Kaduna state for the continuous ban on religious gathering in the state.

In the video, he disparaged the Kaduna state council of Ulamah for allowing what he described as a ‘small bird’, referring to El-rufai to be dictating to them.

Reports however shows that this is not the first time the cleric will be arrested at the instance of a sitting Governor, as he was arrested and detained during Governor Attahiru Bafatawa’s tenure in Sokoto state over similar conduct.

It is now believed that the cleric will be taken to court after the Sallah break.
Politics / President Buhari Sacks NECO Registrar And Four Others by Viktom(m): 11:46pm On May 20, 2020
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has approved the termination of the appointment of Prof Charles Uwakwe as the Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council.

The President also dismissed four members of the management for various offences bordering on financial impropriety.

Uwakwe had been suspended since May 2018 by the Federal Government over alleged financial mismanagement and abuse of office.

The PUNCH reports that Mr Abubakar Gana was appointed as the acting Registrar.

Uwakwe and some top officials allegedly awarded contracts in the council to the tune of N25billion without following the due process.

NECO in a release on Wednesday confirmed that the suspended registrar had been relieved of his appointment by the President, while four members of the management had also been dismissed.

The President’s directive was conveyed in a letter, dated May 11, and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono, on behalf of the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, which said Uwakwe was accused of violating the Public Procurement Act (2007) and pursuant to PSR 030402 and Part 1 schedule 4 (i) of NECO Establishment Act.

Echono said, “After due consideration of the investigative panel on the allegation of unsatisfactory conduct levelled against you and some management staff of the council, Mr. President in exercise of his powers, has approved your removal as the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of National Examinations Council with effect from the date of your suspension from duty.”

The former Registrar was also directed to hand over all the government property in his custody to the acting Registrar.

In another letter, FME/S/1419/C.3/T/98, on May 11, by the Permanent Secretary, the President approved the dismissal from service of four Management workers.

The letter partly reads, “After due consideration of the Financial Report of the Review Committee, Mr. President has approved the recommendations as follows; Bamidele Olure, dismissal from the service with effect from the date of his suspension from office having been found guilty of financial impropriety and not qualified to Head the Finance and Accounts Department.

“Dr. Shina Adetona was dismissed from service with effect from the date he was suspended from office for acts tantamount to fraudulent practices, sabotage and suppression of official records.”

Rant Hq founder, Suzan Coker finally apologises to Igbos

Susan Ade Coker, the founder of Rant Hq, a Facebook group, has finally apologized to her Igbo members after a disagreement ensued from a statement she made in a post which suggested disparagement to the tribe.

Recall Daily Times reported that she recently called some Igbo members senseless while she asked them to leave the group.

However, Coker in a post on Wednesday, stated that she is taking full responsibility for the disturbance the group has experienced in the past few days as she apologizes for the havoc caused.

Furthermore, she noted that she had no intentions of being tribalistic as the platform belongs to all tribe and race known to mankind.

She also stressed that the platform will no longer condone any form of racial discrimination as, “no tribe, race or color is superior to another.

Read Coker’s full statement below:

Good morning everyone.
First and foremost I would like to apologize to the members of RantHQ for the disturbance the group has experienced in the past few days. As your convener, I take full responsibility for it as it my duty to preserve the space for you. It is my duty to make sure our space and looked after and catered for but I failed in that respect. Regardless of how or from who it started or came about or caused,, the fact remains that I did not protect our space from negative energy. For that I am sorry.
I have had one of the most challenging days in my adult life as I had to make decisions about where we go from here. I have had to within 24hours make provisions for alternative arrangements for our migration if those who are unhappy in one way or the other succeed in their campaign. That has been what I’ve spent time on. Thankfully we are not under that pressure anymore. However we have that now so we would be good if anything.
Allow me to say a very big thank you to everyone for your patience. Thank you for your support. I was overwhelmed by the show of love and support. I did not realize that I could ever experience as much love and support from the group. Thank you. I do not take it for granted. God bless you.
Moving forward, we are going to be doing things differently. Starting from myself. RantHQ will not be as it was known for. We would still be fabulous, boisterous and fantastic but we are going to tone down a lot on the “WOBENESS”. It’s not going to be boring. Far from it! We are all adults. We are all grownups. Not that we don’t behave as one but we are merely adjusting. Which is a fundamental requirement in our continuous existence on this great platform FACEBOOK. This change begins with me.
As things progress, please work with us as we moderate the platform. We have closed posting  into the group and we would only be approving posts that had been submitted for approval before last night.
As I mentioned above, we are toning down on the WOBENESS. This may cause a few discomfort for some but kindly adhere to the set down rules and regulations of Facebook community standards.
Disciplinary actions would be tougher. Anyone kicked out from the group are unlikely going to get a chance to be readmitted. Let us be mindful of our conduct, actions, comments and the likes. Respect people’s opinions. No one is above the other. WAKA PASS is strongly advised. We delete a whole thread if we find fighting or bashings going on and offenders kicked out.
One of the things we have sort and concluded in this past few days is data benefits for members of RantHQ in appreciation of their loyal commitment to the platform. Shortly we would roll out avenues for members to get data  and other discounted services at majorly discounted rates.
Last but not the least. This is a multi-culture, multi-faith platform. This is a platform for all tribe and race known to mankind. No tribe, race or color is superior to another. This shall be  our conduct. Each one for everyone.
Thank you and God bless.

Governor Nyesom Wike Blows Hot, Says Order From Now Till Tomorrow, I Will Not Accept Almajiris In Rivers State.

e said “I still maintain my stand, no Almajiris will be accepted in Rivers state. Rivers state and other parts of Eastern and Southern Nigeria are not a dumping refuge for the north.

Did you even see how they package those Almajiris? Some of them were hidden under cows and covered with blankets and someone in Abuja will be there ordering us to accommodate such people. More especially in this COVID-19 pandemic? That is totally unacceptable.

How many Easterners or Southerners have we packaged and sent to the north? Of course that is not in our blood. Let them born how many they can train period. Besides we don’t have the resources to take care of them, perhaps who knows their plan”.

Nigeria does not have Coronavirus. It's just a way of stealing money" - Pastor David Ibiyeomi

The Senior Pastor of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyomie, says he doesn’t believe there is Coronavirusin Nigeria.

He said that Nigerians are suffering from malaria and people say itscoronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The cleric made this comment during aChurch service.

He said,

“People make so much noise aboutCoronavirus, malaria kills more people in Nigeria than coronavirus and doesn’t think Nigeria has the said virus, why closing borders?”

Pastor Ibiyomie said:

“Coronavirus is a virus that is corona. People are making noise aboutcoronavirus. To me, it is rubbish. Did we make noise about malaria?

“Malaria kills more people in Nigeria than coronavirus. Everyday people die from malaria. In the villages, they die. So what are we talking aboutcoronavirus, closing borders up and down?

“Nigeria does not even have it. I don’t think Nigeria has it. Because you have heard Dokpesi say he had it but it was malaria tablet that they gave him. So if it is coronavirus, why will they give him malaria tablets?”
Politics / How An Igbo Family Rescued An Almaljiri And Changed His Life by Viktom(m): 4:59pm On May 17, 2020
Man recalls life as an almajiri in Kano, escaping and being rescued by Igbo family that sent him to school

A man shared a detailed true story of his life as an Almajiri in Kano, how he escaped and became determined to make it in life before getting rescued by an Igbo man.

The man shared his story to enlighten those who fight over tribe or religion, saying it is largely out of ignorance of our existence and how Allah can use us as angels to help one another.

The story was coiled from THE ALMAJIRI by Japheth Prosper.(a true story) and shared by @dr_kay_umar on his twitter page.

He shared;

Life as an almajiri in Kano was very tough. I could still remember how we went about in tens begging for alms and food. It’s really not a life anyone should live. I lived it years ago and could still tell exactly how it hurts; the memory of it and the hellish experiences we had to bear. Almajiri life isn’t a life. It’s like being dead-alive. I lived that life.

I was ten when I decided to remove the cloak of destitution and face life squarely. It still remains the turning point in my life and the wisest decision I’d ever taken.

I could still remember vividly what led me to take such a decision one afternoon. It was at Sabon Titi Kano. We were nine in number. We had trekked all the way from Bida Road. Ali, my best friend was saying something about how very unfair it was that girls were not allowed to wander about begging as boys did. He said something about girls being lucky and fortunate because they were not subjected to the demeaning life that we lived.

“But you don’t have to think that way,” I said. “You know that if you lived a good life here on earth, you surely would enjoy in heaven when you die.”

Ali had always thought differently. He was thirteen years old. Several times he would tell me that we should elope.

He said he didn’t like the way the Mallami treated us. According to him, we were treated as slaves and it was very unfair. Ali was the first ever almajiri I had seen who did not like his being a poor beggar. He always compared himself with the children of the rich.

Do you think Mallam Ladan will ever allow his own children to move about aimlessly in the streets begging as we do?” he often asked me. “He will never do a thing like that. His children eat good food and go to the white man’s school but we don’t. And every day, we take money that we make from begging to him. That is not fair.”No one hated Mallam Ladan as much as Ali did at that time.

Mallam Ladan had always said that Ali was rebellious and that he behaved like an infidel.

One day, and according to him, all infidels would never gain paradise where there were lots of merriments. I remembered one day Ali had asked a question during our usual group recitation of the holy book and Mallam Ladan, red with indignation ordered that Ali should be whipped.

According to him, Ali had asked a blasphemous question. Since then, Ali expressed his displeasure and irritation about the Mallam secretly to me. So, the day I finally made up my mind to quit almajarinci was at Sabon Titi.

We gathered around a very busy canteen owned by a woman from Lafia whom everybody referred to as Mama Nassarawa. She had a very large open space with huge patronage. Most often when any of her many customers ate to their fill and there was leftover, we would swing into action.

It was usually like warfare. Our survival-of-the-fittest lives were hugely dependent on the miserable remnant from the food Mama Nassarawa’s customers left in their plates.

Keenly, we watched from a close distance as the customers ate. Our eagle eyes moved from customer to customer and hand to hand. Contrary to what people think, the almajiri usually had more than enough to eat but we ate like swine; unhealthy and without control.

There was a very beefy fellow eating a fat meal. He had so many pieces of meat in his soup which attracted some of us; I especially had had the rare opportunity of eating meat and fish many a time. This would happen when some people barely touched their food before passing it to us. I had often wondered then why some people would eat only little food and be satisfied. Ali had also wondered too. He had told me once that he had never had a full stomach.

He would emphasize further that until his hand got tired of conveying the food from the plate to his mouth, he would always continue to eat.

The beefy fellow at Mama Nassarawa made me have a rethink that day. He was eating pounded yam. Ali and I fixed our eyes on him. Suddenly, I noticed something rather strange. This fat customer was drooling like a toddler.

Saliva dropped from his mouth into his soup as if there was a burst tap in his throat. We were supposed to take a dive for the leftover of that food! Mere looking at him made me sick.

“Ali, can you see what is happening?” I muffled. “Can you see the way that man’s saliva fall freely into his soup?” Ali smiled. “Abubakar, I am really shocked at what you are saying.” Do you mean to tell me that you haven’t seen something like this before?

I can swear by my life that most of these people there are sick. And because we eat what they leave behind, we are very likely to share in their misfortune since most illnesses are contagious. Abu, we are walking corpses.”

His response gave me goose pimples. That was the day Ali and I made up our minds to go out there and change our stories and destinies. In life, Allah gives us all equal opportunities. He gives us same air to breath and same time; twenty four hours daily to live in.

No one has more time than others. What we do with the time and how we choose to breath is dependent on the choices we make. Some make good choices and others don’t.

“Ali,” I muttered coldly, “may Allay forbid that I eat the leftover food from that man.” For the first time since we became friends, Ali hugged me. “Abu, you have said a noble thing. If you mean what you have said then we must elope. We must leave now. There’s nothing as sweet as freedom.”We both separated from the other boys that day and threw our beggarly bowls away.

That night, we found a Dangote trailer which was about leaving for Lagos. It had just the driver and his conductors. Ali and I sneaked into it when no one was watching and in no time, our journey out of Kano began. It was not until we got to Suleja that the driver and his conductor found us in their vehicle. They had stopped along the Abuja-Kaduna Road to refuel and eat. It was past ten. The conductor pointed his torch and saw us sleeping in a corner.

“Subanalahi!” he exclaimed rather surprisingly. “Ahmadu come and see these miserable elements sleeping in our vehicle.” The driver climbed up and found Ali and me in the truck. I was shocked when he asked if we had eaten.

Ali and I replied in unison that we had not eaten. He ordered us to climb down the truck. We followed them to a food vendor’s place where he bought us good food. It was the very first time that we would be having such good meals without begging for it.

After we had told him our story, he advised that we find a mosque in Suleja to spend the night. “If you go to Lagos, you will suffer. The people there will not help you. They will tell you to go to your parents.

You are still in the north. People here will understand why you are out of school at this age. This is why you should be here and not in Lagos. I will advise that you get shoe shining kits and begin to render services to people.

Whatever you make could feed you and you will have a little to save for school.”He gave us two hundred naira each and reiterated that we must use it wisely. The money at that time was big. How Ahmadu understood us and promptly decided to come to our aid still baffles me to this day. When their vehicle left, we spent the night at Kaduna Road on a plank beside a parked lorry.

At dawn, we went to a nearby stream and bathed. It really felt so good that day because it seemed we were no longer under anyone who would dictate for us. That day, we found some cobblers and they told us how to go about getting all the kits and how to do the job. In three days, we were already dexterous shoe shiners. Days later, we were brilliant cobblers. On our twelfth day on the job, an Igbo trader whom we went to his house to polish his shoes – nineteen pieces in all – took pity on Ali and me and ask a few questions.

“You people are too young to do this job you are doing,” he said. “Don’t you have plans to go to school?” Ali and I told him that we had already bought all our note books. “It’s our uniforms that are left for us to buy,” I told him.

He was leaning on his car and from the way he kept nodding; it was obvious that he was impressed with what we’d told him. He insisted we show him the books we had bought. Ali quickly ran to the shop where we had already paid for the books but were yet to be supplied to fetch them

In no time, he was back with them. That day after we had finished polishing his shoes, Mr. Okafor gave us money to buy our uniforms. He said he would have taken us and given us a place to stay but that we were too young and he could be accused of abduction.

“Come here when your uniforms are ready,” he told us. That was how Allah used Mr. Okafor to change our story in 1992. He took us to a public primary school and registered us.

Some people are angels and when you are lucky to meet them, they don’t care what your tribe or religion is before they choose to help you. Mr. Okafor was such a person. Ali and I began to sleep in one of his warehouses at night with some of his workers – mostly Hausas who help to offload his goods. His wife treated us like her own children. She would give us food and some of her children’s old clothes. Tragedy struck in the year2004 when Ali and I were at ABU Zaria.

Mr. Okafor had an accident on his way to his village and died. I thought this would affect us but Obinna, his eldest son took over his fabric business and still carried on as if nothing had happened.

The relationship we had with the family blossomed. When we returned from school, we would work in one of their warehouses until the holiday was over. There was never a time we called Obinna and told him we needed money and he didn’t respond.

After my service in 2010, I joined the custom service while Ali through one of his friends whom he met in school became a politician. He is a lawmaker in his state house of assembly. He is doing great. We are both doing great and still good friends.

And we are still very close to the Okafors. Ours is a relationship that would last until the day Allah calls us. Our story has taught me that the saying ‘man is the architect of his own fortune,’ is very true.

And also, when there’s a will, there surely will be a way. Don’t let anyone deceive you, there is light of every dark tunnel for everyone. We only remain in the darkness of the tunnel because we are just too scared to approach the light. if we make a move, we surely would be out of the tunnel. I got married in 2015 and Obinna and his mother attended the wedding. They were also in Ali’s wedding too a year before.

When we fight over tribe or religion, we do so because we are largely ignorant of our existence and how Allah can use us as angels to help one another. Humanity should always count because we are all one and the same.

It is needless for us to keep pointing guns and raising daggers at one another. THE ALMAJIRI by Japheth Prosper.(a true story)

Disclaimer: This is not my story. It is a story written by a writer called Japheth Prosper. I found it very inspiring and decided to share it here. I hope you all find it useful too.

Politics / A Better Nigeria Is Not Achievable If Nigerians Don't Change by Viktom(m): 3:13pm On May 17, 2020
Every Nigerian is Responsible for the Rots in our Country

The situation in Nigeria is so despicable but we are all guilty for the rots, as surprising as it may sound, it is the truth, even though not obvious to many Nigerians.
Change comes with a price which is never more than adaptation, only the people that adapts to a change enjoys the benefits that comes with it while those that refuse to adapt suffers from it consequence.
When Falz sang “this is Nigeria and everybody is a criminal”. We experienced many outcries especially from religious bodies; even MURIC threatened to sue him. But people failed to see that he didn’t exclude himself and his father who is a legal luminary. This shows that we are all guilty for the rots in Nigeria and are all culpable for the corruption in Nigeria. If Nigeria must change for better, Nigerians must change first, for in bettering our lives we better our country, because change start within and never without.
It is “only a fool that does things the same way and expects different results”. If we must witness change then we must do things differently.
Take for instance the lecturer who insists on sex from a young girl and some cash from a young boy before they can pass his course complains about the rot in Nigeria. As if he is not a Nigerian and not part of our problems, because in the situation where he was the government he failed the country and in failing the country he failed himself and his family and so lacks the right to complain about societal rot because he is part of the society and duly contribute is fair share to the rot.
The man who pays his driver ₦20,000 while he gives his child ₦100,000 for up keep complains about the rot and hopelessness of Nigeria.
The trader, who removes 4 bowls of rice from the bag, re-bags and sells as a full bag is complaining about the wickedness in Nigeria as if he is any different.
The civil servant who comes to work once in a week or even once in a month, then shows up at the end of the month to pick his salary is complaining of politicians who do nothing as if he is better than any of them.
The student who party’s all week and block his courses then end up not able to defend himself complains that Nigeria is stealing his dream ignoring the fact he is part of his problem.
The doctors in public hospitals on government payroll abandons their patients to thrive in their private hospitals complains that politicians are corrupt as if they are any better.
The driver, who can’t join simple queue but darts in and out of traffic or event take another’s lane, complains of disorderliness in the country.
The man or woman who drinks water and throw the sachets on the road is complaining that the country is dirty as if he is not contributing to the dirt in the country.
Until we realize that Nigerians cannot be better than Nigerians then we are heading nowhere. Because the value of Nigeria is the average of our own individual values. We are either architects or parts of Nigeria’s problems and the earlier we stop fooling ourselves the better for us and our country.

Politics / Why The Government Cannot Give Palliatives To Every Nigerian by Viktom(m): 11:11am On Apr 27, 2020
Why the Government cannot give Palliatives to Every Nigerian

I will try to be as brief as possible; I know Nigerians are hungry and so would be easily bored by long epistles. Also note that I do not support the Buhari government, I just want to let us know why it will be difficult for the government to give palliatives to it citizens like every other country that is doing so, irrespective of who is at the helm of affairs, whether Buhari or even you.
The hope of the citizens in the government should not be disappointed in a time like this. Just like citizens of America and other countries that has given robust palliatives to its citizens, Nigerian are also looking up to their government for as little as possible but just like always our government never disappoint on failing it citizens. But the blame does not totally lay on the government but also on us the citizens. For instance when the citizens of those countries where paying tax, here in Nigeria and Africa at large we were paying tithes and evaded the payment of tax. Why their citizens where voting in credible leaders we were praying for good leaders as if INEC will count prayer points and why they were building industries we were building churches. So instead of asking our government for palliatives I think we should take our plates to our churches and ask for food.
I am not against the payment of tithe, but if you pay tithes, you should also pay your tax. Just like the Bible said, give to God what belongs to him and to Caeser what belongs to him; tithe is of God and tax belongs to your government. Now our churches are super rich and our government is super poor.
The only way we can escape hunger in this period is if individual and our churches step up and help the masse, instead of giving money to the government, they should give it to the masses. How can a church that has not given palliatives to its members make donations to the government? Charity should start from the church before it gets to the government. As citizens we must come together and tackle hunger among ourselves and leave the government to tackle the virus. If we don’t when all these are over we will all discover that hunger had killed more than the virus itself. I want to employ corporate organizations to please make their donations to Nigerians who are hungry and not to our government that is made up of petty thieves. Just like Dangote and Elumelu and every other persons that has made donations to the government one thing I can assure you is that your donations will be looted so instead of giving it to the government please give it to Nigerians.
No matter how little it is please give to the people around you, even if it is a cup of rice. In a time like this, nothing can be too big and nothing can be too little.
For those who have enough to spare look for people around you that don’t have and if the people around you all have you can please contact me to help you distribute, as I am heading an initiative that is committed to disbursing relief materials to people affected by the virus.

Politics / Aisha Blocks Cabals From Buhari As Adamu Inches Close To Becoming Chief Of Staff by Viktom(m): 2:10pm On Apr 23, 2020
KINGIBE’S CHANCES WANES AS ADAMU INCHES CLOSE TO BECOMING CHIEF OF STAFF; AISHA BLOCKS CABALS FROM BUHARI

Hopes of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, emerge the new chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, seems to have waned following concerns among the Villa cabal over his penchant for disloyalty to his principals.

But while the Kingibe’s fortunes has taken a nosedive, Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu and longtime Buhari loyalist is likely to occupy the influential vacant following the recent death of Abba Kyari who served as chief of staff since August 2015.

A source in the Villa told Pointblanknews.com that the scheming for who occupies the top position has resulted in an intense battle of wits between the First Lady, Aisha Buhari and the Cabal, led by Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura.

Besides Kingibe and Adamu, the search for Kyari’s replacement had also seen the likes of former military administrator of Lagos Gen Buba Marwa ,and Isa Funtua, feature in the list of possible candidates for the top seat.

Pointblanknews gathered that a former Minister of Interior, Gen Abdulrahman Dambazzau was also given a look-in for the job. Another retired General whose name could not be ascertained at the time of this report has also made the list.

However, a Villa source who spoke on the race for the office said a major sin counted against Kingibe was his propensity for betraying persons he worked with politically. The source however noted that Adamu who has been a close ally of Buhari for decades is likely to get the position.

Adamu who hails from Azare, Bauchi State, is renowned as the closest minister to Buhari. Before his appointment as minister, in 2015, he was the secretary of Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential transition committee.

“It might land on Adamu Adamu. Scheming still on. Kingibe was dropped because Buhari and those around him felt he is a betrayer. He betrayed Chief MKO Abiola and President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. Kingibe abandoned Abiola whom he ran with as Vice President, during the June 12 struggle and leaked information about Yar’Adua’s sickness to the media,” the source stated.

Meanwhile it was gathered that the First Lady, Aisha Buhari is bent on asserting her authority in the Villa as she moves to block the Daura-led cabal from dictating affairs in the Buhari Presidency.

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that while Buhari is concluding his choice of Adamu as CoS, Aisha is ensuring that she blocks the Daura and his Cabals who are bent on foisting Kingibe or one of them as the Chief of Staff.

Aisha and Daura, who is the most influential non-elected figure in the Buhari Presidency have been at dagger drawn over who calls the shots in the Villa.

While Daura is renowned for having the President’s hear, the First Lady, feeling slighted that she does not enjoy as much influence over affairs in her husband’s administration has been kicking against Daura continued stay in the Villa.

The matter had gotten to a head when Aisha was seen in a video which went viral on social media lamenting that she was being denied access to her apartment in the Villa. In the video, Aisha who was addressing one of Daura’s daughters, Fatima, accused her father of denying her assess to her apartment.

But Fatima who recorded the video, accused the President’s wife of attacking her inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Foreign Affairs / Lawyers, Claimants From 40 Countries, Sue China Over Coronavirus Pandemic by Viktom(m): 11:37am On Apr 22, 2020
Lawyers, Claimants From 40 Countries, Sue China For Trillions Of Dollars Over Coronavirus Pandemic

After several allegations of ”negligence in the spread of Coronavirus globally”, the Chinese Government is being sued for trillions of dollars.

In a lawsuit that involves a group of US lawyer and thousands of claimants from 40 countries, including Britain, the China’s Communist leaders are being accused of negligence for allowing the virus to break out and then covering it up. The filings were made in Florida last month.

The landmark legal action also involves human rights lawyers from Israel in legal documents are also accusing China of state sponsored bio-terrorism putting pressure on China’s President Xi Jinping to account fully for his country’s actions in the spread of the virus that has killed hundreds of thousands worldwide.

China faces accusations that it hid or reduced data, blocked several foreign teams of public health experts and silenced Chinese doctors who tried to warn about the epidemic when it broke out late last year.

The US legal claim was launched by Berman Law Group and it’s Chief strategist Jeremy Alters said: ‘China’s leaders must be held accountable for their actions. Our goal is to expose the truth.’ Three years ago, the firm won a $1.2 billion (£960 million) case against China over the manufacture of defective building materials.

Two Plaintiffs in the case Olivier Babylone and Lorraine Caggiano said;
‘I have been financially hurt, but many people have lost their lives so I was lucky, and the NHS was fantastic. We need to know who is responsible.’
‘I am not expecting money. It is a symbolic gesture that we are fighting back.

‘I want to know how the world has been turned on its head, with people dying and companies going down the drain. We must make sure it never happens again.’

Meanwhile, leading British human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson has called for the United Nations to set up an inquiry into the origins of Coronavirus after the World Health Organisation was accused by Trump in helping China cover up it’s death toll and the severity of the virus.

Mr Robertson, a former UN appeal judge, said;‘Our international well-being demands an independent and objective report into this disaster, not to allocate blame but to write its truthful history and learn lessons,’ he said. He added that Britain should use its influence as a permanent UN Security Council member to urge a formal inquiry, forcing the WHO and China to co-operate.

He said: ‘China would suffer international hostility and perhaps economic sanctions if it refused to explain all that had happened. It has a duty to tell the truth to a world that has suffered so much.’

The UK’s acting Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, recently said it could not be ‘business as usual’ after the crisis.

‘We will have to ask the hard questions about how it came about and how it couldn’t have been stopped earlier,’ he said.

Auxiliary, while interviewed by BBC Yoruba related the incident to another prominent member of the society, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, well-known as Sunday Igboho.

Auxiliary said one man named Remi Soka was the one who attacked the member of the park managers while on their duty to collect park fees from the Okada riders in that area. He claimed the area belong to him, and nobody has right to collect any token from there.
