When you talk of religion being a curse,be specific on which religion.
The Christianity which I belong to brought the first schools,d first hospitals etc to Africa and Nigeria and continue so up till today.

I am a Christian too by virtue of belief, they gave us the first schools, hospitals as u said. but they were tools for colonisation. they gave to us through the front door and looted us via the back door.

How Mohammed feels when people are hanged for abusing him beats my imagination.
I don't mean to criticise him but we all need to be sure he supports all this.

This is because I am just a human and from what his followers say, he is a prophet. I can easily forgive who abuses me.
How much more a prophet of God as acclaimed by his followers.

I believe these verdicts runs contrary to God's directive being a merciful God.

the thing is tiring, I swear. religion in Africa has done more harms than good.

if this is true, then the government should tell us how much it will cost to fence the whole state and how much is our budget for education.
our leaders are more brainless than I thought and this will go down in history as an achievement. how much will it cost to build another university. some body should tell the government to build another university in a safer place and convert the current one to a training ground for the military.

Politics / Tinubu Always Took Wristwatches From Atiku’s Hands – Ngige’s Ex-commissioner by Viktom(m): 11:30pm On Jul 25, 2020
Tinubu always took wristwatches from Atiku’s hands – Ngige’s ex-commissioner, Amilo

The last is yet to be heard on the brewing war of words over the on-going probe of the suspension of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) management, an agency under the ministry of Labour and Employment.

The probe is being carried out by Nigeria’s House of Representatives.

Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige had while appearing before the Reps committee declared that he was in the same class with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

DAILY POST reported that Ngige’s outburst was in response to a question from Reps member, James Fakele.

However, Mr. Chuks Akunna, a former Chief Press Secretary to Ngige, in a tweet, said the minister was not in any way in the same mould as Tinubu. He claimed Ngige begged Tinubu for a car in 2004.

But Ngige’s then commissioner for information, Chief Charles Amilo has now come out to debunk the stories, urging members of the public to disregard Akunna’s claims.

Speaking from his country home in Anambra State, Amilo brought a new twist to the report with another claim that Tinubu was taking wristwatches from former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar’s hands.

According to him, “while Dr Ngige did not move money in bullion vans, he was not poor before he became Governor in 2003.”

Amilo, popularly known as ‘Ude Obodo’, maintained that his former boss did not have to beg Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to ride or own a car when he had the wherewithal before he became Governor and owned fleet of exotic cars, including the sliding open roof Toyota Landcruiser used to ferry Dr Alex Ekwueme (of blessed memory) into the 1998 Jos Convention of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), not to talk about when he was Governor.

He claimed that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as Governor had the habit of taking wristwatches from Atiku’s hands, both at the VP’s home or at meetings in the villa as a sign of friendship and affection.

He added that Tinubu and Ibori sometimes did the same, but not that they could not afford it.

Amilo said: “I was among the aides who were with Ngige anytime he went to Abuja whether on official assignment or private function, and he never at any time begged his Lagos State counterpart for a car. It never happened. Whoever told you that story is lying.”

“On the issue of car, I can remember that French President gave Asiwaju three old 2000 model 280s bullet proof. On a visit to Ngige at Abuja, Asiwaju dropped one for Ngige at his Abuja Governor’s Lodge for use when in Abuja in 2005 and kept one in Abuja, one in Lagos. Dr Ngige used it for five months before he brought it back to Tinubu to give to Olusegun Mimiko who just resigned from the Federal Executive Council ,(FEC) to join them in the Anti-Obasanjo third term struggle and had to run against PDP as the Labour Party governorship candidate in Ondo State,” he said.

Amilo said as Governor, Ngige used Mercedes G Wagon, not out of choice but as a result of the turbulent security situation created in Anambra State by Obasanjo and his cohorts.

He recalled that prior to politics, Ngige owned a motor company in Victoria Island Lagos, known as ESS-DEE MOTORS, a flourishing Car company on highbrow St. Adetokumbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island (VI) in the 90’s before their movement to Abuja.

“So, please they should stop talking about car, especially about one who owned latest Mercedes Fulltime and Fulltime Toyota.

“Those peddling the story should go and rest as Dr Ngige is not a car freak neither is he competing with anybody for who is richer,” Amilo said.

He insisted that Ngige before joining politics was already very wealthy both from medical practice, his motor company and vast quiet real estate business.

According to Amilo, “Ngige was a Governor at the same time as Tinubu with his security vote and monthly returns from Onitsha and Nnewi traders.

“He is a medical doctor with a practice in Lagos before he went into politics. Dr Ngige lived and practised in Victoria Island. He is a member of Ikoyi Club.

“He had a flourishing car shop and real estate businesses, apart from silent ownership and investment in about three of the highbrow Hospital-groups in Ikoyi and Victoria Island.

“He was either a Governor, a Senator and Federal Minister between 1999 and today. He always held elective or appointed political office.

“I know and we all know rich men take each other’s properties particularly cars and wristwatches.

“It was said Babangida when he was President saw cars in the VI home of his late friend, Dr Clarkson de Majomi, the Public Relations Guru. Babangida asked and got Majomi’s Jaguar car! It didn’t mean Babaginda could not afford a Jaguar car at the time,” Amilo said.

The former spokesman of Anambra State government said it was sad for Tinubu’s group to portray Dr Ngige as one who was trekking all over Lagos (as Governor) and had to beg Tinubu for a car.

He maintained that while Dr Ngige may not move his cash in bullion vans, he acquired wealth from his professions, (medicine and politics) to live in the comfort of a member of Nigeria’s Upper Class.

Chief Amilo advised Akunna “to be very careful with his fabricated lies.”

“Despite Akunna’s saboteur role of leaking information to the Uba/Obasanjo Abuja traducers, Dr Ngige rejected all entreaties for his sack by State Executive Council (Exco) members and insisted on retaining him. Ngige, however, asked that he should be sidelined but with full remunerations to enable him cater for his family,” Amilo further claimed.

Politics / Jonathan And Buhari Treat Each Other As Brothers- Femi Adesina by Viktom(m): 3:41pm On Jul 24, 2020
Aso Rock Visit: How Buhari Allowed Jonathan Use Door Meant Exclusively For Sitting President – Adesina

President Muhammadu Buhari and ex-president Goodluck Jonathan treated each other like “brothers” when the latter recently visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Jonathan, in his capacity as the Ecowas Special Envoy to Mali, had briefed President Buhari on the political unrest in the West African country during his visit to the State House alongside the President of Ecowas Commission, Jean-Claude Kassi Brou.

Buhari’s senior media adviser, Femi Adesina, revealed in an opinion piece on Friday, that his principal allowed Jonathan to use an exit door “exclusively meant for a sitting president” when the former president was about leaving after his visit.

Adesina said the mutual respect Buhari and Jonathan showed each other should serve as lesson to their supporters who always attack themselves on social media.

He said, “The fissure among most Nigerians today is sustained by primordial loyalties, and by who they supported in the 2015 presidential election.”

Adesina said, “President Buhari and his guest came into the diplomatic room of the Presidential Villa together. Our President ushered Dr Jonathan to the visitor’s seat. A while back, Jonathan was the host in that very same room, ushering visitors to their seat. Now, he is in that same seat. If President Buhari visits the seat of power after May, 2023, he too would be ushered by somebody else. Such is life. Are you holding tight to anything today? Vanity of vanity. We are all birds of passage. Nothing lasts forever. Not power. Not position. Not any office. Not even life. A vital lesson I’ve learnt from President Buhari is his constant realization that he would not be in State House forever. He would often tell in private conversations: “While we are here, we shall do our very best.”

The presidential aide said the atmosphere between Buhari and Jonathan was, “Calm, friendly, characterized by absolutely no tension. No animosity. While uncountable Jonathanians and Buharists were spitting in one another’s eyes round the country, abusing one another’s father and mother at the same time, here were the two men, the perfect picture of geniality. I say again, no tension, absolutely none. They were both perfect pictures of civility.”

According to Adesina, Buhari was full of praises for Jonathan after the ex-president gave him a rundown of his findings about the Mali crisis.

He added, “Time to go, and the former President made a move for the visitor’s exit door. But President Buhari would have none of it. He led him through the exit exclusively meant for a sitting President. Very impressive. Meanwhile, out there, the Bitter-Enders are knocking their heads against the wall, sitting on the complaint counter and wailing endlessly. But here are the two main men, treating each other like brothers.”

I really do wonder what Aisha is on. how can you expect a rubber stamp senate to impeach their master. until we put aside tribalism and favouritism and allow meritocracy, I can assure you that nothing good will come out of this nation. corruption goes beyond politicians it is in every Nigerian. from market women to bus drivers, we all have the propensity for corruption. until we put aside tribalism and religion and elect credible leaders, we will keep electing leaders like Buhari.

besides the only thing buhari has not failed to do is to fail us. if you voted for this man in 2015 you can be forgiven but if you voted for him in 2019 you should face the Hague or better still a firing squad. Buhari failures don't shock me anymore, and if it still shocks you I recommend you get a shock absorber from Buhari's kitchen cabinet because obviously the shock don't get to them anymore.

Buhari jailed Isa Funtua in 1983 – Sowore replies Presidency, makes revelation

Sahara Reporters Founder, Omoyele Sowore has replied the Nigerian presidency over a meeting he had with Late businessman, Isa Funtua, while he was in DSS detention.

Sowore on Tuesday disclosed that Funtua alongside Thisday publisher, Nduka Obaigbena, Vanguard publisher, Sam Amuka and Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu met with him while he was in detention to ‘negotiate’ his release. The fiery ex-presidential candidate revealed that he ‘clashed’ with Funtua who told him that he can’t ‘defeat the government’.

Reacting to the Presidency’s statement issued by Shehu via Twitter, Sowore replied him stating;

“Glad you admitted you led a delegation to meet me in It is very true that I was nice to your team because you weren’t my problem, you were just an errand boy. In fact, I patted you on the back saying I had never met you before you were respectful but I knew you were there on a hatchet job. DSS detention because the delegates said you arranged it.”

“You mentioned that the DSS may have a tape, in fact, I was told that was the plan before you even arrived. Contrary to your lie, I refused to enter into any agreement with you because I insisted only the presence on my lawyer could make that possible. My insistence then got Isa Funtua riled and he said that my lawyer was only grandstanding and that he too had been imprisoned by Buhari in 1983 and that no one can defeat the government. Your wicked self kept quiet but Nduka noticing I was upset took me to the DO’s anteroom.”

“When I arrived downstairs I made a telephone call to my lawyer, Femi Falana in the presence of the DSS officials telling him that I do not want to negotiate my freedom and that when he meets your team he should restate my position, he did exactly that, your team got upset again.”

“Soon as I made that call to Falana I was stopped from ever making any further calls until my continued detention became an INT’L issue, I was then offered a bugged cell phone with which I granted an interview to @PremiumTimesng, while I was calling my family the phone was seized. I urge you to release the tape but don’t forget to release tapes of convos between COS Abba Kyari and DSS DG asking that my detention should last for the duration of the @MBuhari regime in 2023 because @SaharaReporters did a report that revealed that he collected N500m from MTN.”

Politics / Ganduje Dollar Video Played On Edo Biggest Roundabout Billboard by Viktom(m): 8:14am On Jul 09, 2020
A scandalous video published showing Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje pocketing vast wads of American dollars in what was said to be bribe payments from public works contractors, has been put on repeat on the biggest screen in the biggest roundabout in Edo State.

In the video released by the Editor-In-Chief of Daily Nigerian, Jaafar Jaafar, in 2018, the Governor was shown collecting bribes in dollars and stuffing the wads of money in his white “Agbada” also known as “babariga” cloth.

The video shows the Governor darting his eyes, perhaps towards the door every now and then to ensure nobody was coming in.

The video also shows the happy governor pack the money into a paper bag under his table.

The governor frustrated a probe by the state assembly of the scandal as he secured a court injunction to stop the probe.

Journalist Jafaar, appeared before the lawmakers and defended the authenticity of the video.

The video sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for the impeachment of the Governor.

Ganduje, who enjoys immunity from prosecution as a sitting governor, has not been probed for the scandal by any anti-graft agency.

The Kano governor won his re-election last year despite the bribery scandal.

The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) recently appointed Ganduje, to head its campaign council for the Edo State governorship election.

The APC’s candidate in the September 19 governorship election in Edo is Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a pastor who decamped from the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Ize-Iyamu’s main challenger is incumbent governor Godwin Obaseki who decamped from the APC to the PDP.

Court grants permission to PDP to air Oshiomole's 2016 campaign videos

We all know that to win an election in Nigeria is not usually very easy. Different political strategies, permutations and ideologies will be applied. It is no news that the political atmosphere in Edo state is getting tense everyday. Both Godwin Obaseki and Adams Oshiomole are showing their political strength. But every drama remains till the 19th of September, 2020.

Recall that in the 2016 governorship election, Adams Oshiomhole campaigned against Ize-iyamu of the then Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) election, but now that the table has turn in 2020, Ize-iyamu has decamped to APC and PDP are now ready to use the same video against him but Adams Oshiomhole is scared. The Oshiomole that campaigned against Ize Iyamu has now become his favourite.

Following the attempts of Oshiomole to stop PDP from airing the videos on television stations, A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the application by refusing to grant such prayer. This is an indication that the PDP can go ahead to air the campaign videos.

The Court in its ruling claimed that it’s an own goal scored by themselves for themselves. One could now affirm that with the present situation of things, the videos Of Oshiomhole campaign against Ize-iyamu are enough strategies for Godwin Obaseki to win in Edo state.

Foreign Affairs / Pastor Becomes President Of Malawi by Viktom(m): 4:29pm On Jun 28, 2020
The General superintendent of Assemblies of God Church is now the president of his country.

They said when the righteous is on the throne people will rejoice. Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chekwera is an example of the above statement. He is a God fearing man. He has just been elected the president of Malawi, winning the incumbent president through a free and fair election held yesterday in Malawi. His winning was due to records of good achievements in Assemblies of God Church. Below is the profile and brief history of Dr McCarthy.

Brief History of Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chekwera

Dr. Lazarus Chakwera was born in Lilongwe, now the capital city of Malawi, on 5 April 1955.He was born to a subsistence farmer in the outskirt of Lilongwe city. Two of his brothers born before him died in infancy. His father, believing that he would live, gave him the name Lazarus as the Bible character who was raised from the dead.

He is the only son with surviving sisters. Lazarus Chakwera is married to Monica and together they have four children and grand children.

His Avhievements

He has worked as an instructor at the Assemblies of God School of Theology from 1983 to 2000 where he became the Principal in 1996. He has been the co-director and a lecturer at All Nations Theological Seminary. Since 1989 he has been at the helm of Malawi assemblies of God presidency. On 14 April 2013 he took many by surprise when he declared his intentions to run at a Convention of the opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) as president while still maintaining the Assemblies of God Presidency. His landslide victory at the MCP convention went down in history of Malawi as the first of its kind of any political party in Malawi.

His political career

Professor Lazarus Chakwera's interest in politics became known to the public on 9 April 2013 when rumours of his interest to join the presidential race of the MCP were on the online media. The rumours were confirmed later to the public on 14 April 2013. Chakwera later submitted his nomination papers while still at the helm of the Malawi Assemblies of God. The MCP convention slated for 27 April 2013 was later postponed to 10 and 11 August where he was elected as the president of MCP and he will represent the party in the 2014 general election.

Chakwera announced his resignation as the Head of the Malawi Assemblies of God (AG) with effect on 14 May 2013.He said this would enable him to concentrate more on front-line politics. He remains God's minister known to serve God's people in a different context other than the church.

Today he has been declared a winner and the president of his country Malawi.

we say congratulation to a man of purpose and vision. we know you are going to lead your people with fear of God. Your leadership in Assemblies of God church Malawi is a proof. we shall say to God of Assemblies.

All we say is thank you lord.

APC crisis: Presidency reveals why Tinubu was not invited to NEC meeting with Buhari, Giadom

The Special Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmaad, has given reasons the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will not attend Thursday’s National Executive Committee meeting.

According to him, Tinubu is not a member of the party’s NEC.

“There are some people who need to know that the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party, hence, he doesn’t attend the NEC Meetings. This is very clear!” Ahmaad tweeted late on Wednesday night.

The NEC meeting will be convened by Victor Giadom, who is fighting to be acting National Chairman of the APC.

Giadom has been publicly backed by President Muhammadu Buhari, who himself will be present at the virtual meeting.

The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has however made it clear they plan to boycott the meeting, as it will amount to “embracing illegalities and turning a blind eye to the infractions on the constitution of the party”.

I have been checking up on the school children in my area to know if they got food from the government and they all answered no. we are just cursed with bunch of useless, clueless and inept leaders.
Politics / Giadom Writes INEC Say No Primary Slated For Edo by Viktom(m): 8:25am On Jun 22, 2020
writes INEC, says no party primaries planned for Edo on Monday June 22

In further excitation of his powers as Acting National Chairman (ANC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Victor Giadom has written a second letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) strongly informing the electoral umpire that there has been no governorship primary election scheduled to hold in Edo State on Monday, June 22, 2020.

The INEC is allowed by the law to recognize and act on communications from the national chairman of political parties. Earlier such communications by Adams Oshiomhole had been nullified and voided by the Court of Appeal Abuja, which upheld March ruling of FCT Hugh Court suspending him as a member and national chairman of the APC and specifically appointed Victor Giadom being the most senior in party hierarchy as acting national secretary as at the time to take action as national chairman.

Chief Giadom has since notified the INEC on this latest development following his resumption at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

In the second letter, dated Thursday, June 18, 2020, boldly titled “No APC gubernatorial primary committee has been inaugurated for Edo State and no primaries planned for Monday, June 22, 2020”, Chief Giadom said his leadership’s attention had been drawn to activities of some people including Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State to conduct party primaries in Edo State on Monday, June 22.

He said neither was such a plan or arrangement known to him or authorized by him as Acting National Chairman and such, that the INEC should not give its support or monitoring to them.

The letter addressed to the INEC Chairman said: “Reports reaching me is that some persons have perfected plans to conduct direct gubernatorial primaries for our great party in Edo State next week under the purported chairmanship of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma on Monday, June 22, 2020.

“Kindly note that as the Acting Chairman of our party, I did not authorize such a committee, neither have I inaugurated one. The earlier announced date for the primaries that is June 22, 2020, has been postponed.

“You are therefore advised not to give any support to any such committee or to monitor any such primaries. A new date for the primaries would be communicated to you soonest. We regret the inconvenience this might cause your commission.

“A copy of this letter is being sent to the relevant law enforcement agencies and the Chairman of Edo State APC, Mr. Anselm Ojezua for their information and necessary actions,” Giadom said
Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Is A Prophet And A Man Of Truth- Bishop Kukah by Viktom(m): 6:34pm On Jun 21, 2020
Nnamdi Kanu is a Prophet and a man of truth, it’s now I believe -Bishop Kukah .
The policies of this regime have badly affected and made more Nigerians poorer, jobless and hopeless. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu?,
Asked Bishop Kukah Boko Haram terrorists that have killed millions of people and destroyed property worth billions of Naira are been pardoned, rehabilitated, and will soon get a commission. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu?
I have watched the way and manner the palliative is distributed. no records, no proper accounting, oh so sad. he weeps. General Muhammadu Buhari doesn’t even talk to Nigerians. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu?
The Nations economy is on autopilot with no one clearly in charge. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu?
A country where fundamental Human Rights and free speech is not a crime. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu.
A Country where you are told not to defend yourself against your killers. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu.
A Nation where human lives no longer matter. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu?
A particular tribe and region get more favoured, get better job opportunities and act like they own the Country. Ain’t you Nnamdi Kanu? I weep for my country Nigeria. All of these ills that has bedevilled our Country is the exact reason why Nnamdi Kanu began the agitation for the emancipation of the Igbos. An attempt to make them escape the ineptitude, incompetence and the bigotry leadership Nigeria currently has. “Until the narrative change I will support anything coming from Nnamdi Kanu. I have said it before, let the Igbo man lead Nigeria for four years, am sure the different will be very clear”, he said.

If you have been following up with the politics happening in Edo State, you will observe new things come up basically every day. The latest is the issuance of a new NYSC certificate to Governor Obaseki.

Recall governor Obaseki was disqualified by the APC screening committee for discrepancies in his credentials. Days before he was disqualified, there was argument over the authenticity of his university certificate. The institution, University of Ibadan later came out to confirm that the governor is an alumnus of the school. Despite the university's clarification, Governor Obaseki was disqualified based on inconsistencies in his Higher School Leaving Certificate and NYSC.

On his NYSC certificate, the APC screening committee said though it wasn't faked, there was a typo which governor Obaseki refused to correct. It was said that the name 'Obaseki' was wrongly spelt as 'Obasek'.

In the latest development, the NYSC problem has been resolved with the commission issuing the governor a new certificate. This is a victory for the governor as he has been threatened to face legal battle and litigation if he wins the election with the discrepancies in the certificates.
