I think there are very few schools in Nigeria that the AQF matches their bachelor degrees to be equivalent to their own Bsc. It doesn't matter if you attended the most expensive private university in Nigeria.
Only the ffg schools can assess its degree to be equivalent to aussie first degree.
OAU, UI, UNILAG, FUTA...

Good evening family and friends.
It is quite some time now, I have been reading through the threads. I have these questions.
Firstly, let me explain what I have been up to since.
I got a 25% scholarship grant on tuition for M.sc in cybersecurity at the university of technology, Sydney, Australia sometimes in August. I have been given till 30th of Nov. 2019 to pay my deposit of A$14,520. I have a big brother in Sydney who will be willing go accomodate me for the whole study period. He is also willing to support me with some stipend.
I am also pursuing PR route awaiting opening of 491 Visa class. But unfortunately, my pte test I took today was not good for PR route. LRSW: 55:61:58:61, I understand this can only fly for studies which I might be using.
I also understand that if UtS were go be in a regional area i would have advantage for PR.
My question is what do I do? I am really very confused right now. Whether to proceed with the admission or sit for another pte to hit 85+ in all band for PR route. I have another fear, how will I be able to gather another N3.6m in 3months while studying to pay for my tuition fees? Has anyone here know someone who has taking this kind of risk?
IT occupations are very very competitive for PR route on offshore. I also have plans to take up a study in a regional area after MSC.
Please I need your candid advice and views on my situation.
I am married with a kid.
I am 35 while my wife is 28.
I work with a govt agency. Since uts is an AL1 institution, do I need to provide my bank acc? Or that of my brother who's in Sydney?

Tuition fees of WSU seems cheaper than UTS. UTS will still refer you to an agent don t worry. You have only done first leg by submitting an online application @$AUD100. The next letter you will get is for you to appoint one of their agents in Nigeria to help you complete the remaining process.
Yes UTS is AL1 school, it's a small school and also new compare to WSU. You know what you stand to gain if you chose AL1? hence the choice is yours!!!
UTS average tuition fee can be as high as AUD$45k
and as low as AUD $35k

Danie08:
Hello house I need your advise here .
I just received a study offer at Western Sydney university (MSc project management).
My application to university of technology Sydney (MSc project management) is still in process .
My question here is will UTS be a better option cos it's an AL1 school while WSU is AL2.
Am asking this because my application to WUS was done by an agent while UTS accepts direct applications.
So the agent is already advising I accept the offer .

Firstly, Your CGPA is very ok for Masters programme.
What qualifies you?
1. Close relationship of your previous studies to the proposed course (Masters)
2. Have you been working in your course of study?
3. Do you have the fund?
4. are you going for Masters Coursework or Research? If research it requires 1st Class or 2:1 with a previous good research project.
5. Universities in AL1 May or may not requires IELTS or any other eng test. However, if you wish to apply for any of the available conversion visa 189/190/491; you will still need the English test at a very high band say 7/8 equivalent in PTE or ielts. So, why not just do the English test now? I advise people to take PTE.
6. Your personal statement /Letter of Motivation must be well written or tailored to your chosen course of study with well outlined expected skills you would acquire at the end of the programme. Your personal statement must indicate that you are returning home after your studies even if that wouldn't be the case.
7. If your choice is for Master (Coursework) then, your 2:2 is good to go. But note most AL1 schools in Aussie are very expensive. You must be prepared to work and manage your studies altogether...
8. .....

Freshmove:
Hello great gurus in the house.

Please I want to confirm.

Graduated with a cgpa of 3.48(a 2.2)equivalent to 5.0 here and I was told I can’t apply to AL1 schools e.g Macquarie University and University of south Assuie due to me not having a 2.1 here in Nigeria.

I am avoiding writing ielts

Please how true is it house, thank you.

Some provinces only need you to be in the pool with sufficient scores for you to get an invitation. Few weeks back, on this thread some people got invitations for PNP. Try to invest alot of time in reading as you will have many more questions and some questions MAY not be answered here because they have been over flogged.

Thanks so much.
Yes, I have earlier check through PNP. The problem is they all required ties to those provinces. I have a brothers in Canada but not in those provinces.
Is there any hope without a tie to certain province?

Okay, I'll be a bit blunt though. Your age and Marital Status would drastically reduce ur CRS despite having years of experience and having multiple degrees. Your Spouse on the other hand is in the "catchment" age but has a small experience quotient and limited number of degrees. My advice is, play with the CRS calculator. You can simulate scores for both your self and wife in multiple ways as you deem fit. Since you are in the tech industry, u may get nominated for PNP too. Infact that would really guarantee you an ITA. You'll still need to do alot of personal research to guide u. However, if you calmly read through this thread, you will understand in no time.
Hello house, I applied for an Australian student visa last month and I got a message from immi today. They noticed I didn’t indicate a US visit visa refusal I had about two years ago, but I indicated that of UK which was quite recent. They are requesting for an explanation. Pls house, will it be better for me to totally withdraw this application to prevent another refusal? Or can I still get a grant after the explanation? Honestly it was an oversight on my part. Pls, urgent answers or suggestions are needed. Tanx.

Hello,
You can check for some schools on AL1. They run what is called "Graduate Diploma programs that will allow you have access to M.eng in your preferred Area." after one year. The course is designed to run for 12months.

Please help me make a good decision. I currently work in dubai and I am about applying to a school in Australia. I had a 3rd class degree from Electronic Engineering Unn and i graduated around 2014. I have a Ielts score of 7.5 overall and my age is 31. Normally i would have applied for an msc ptogramme in Elrctronic Engineering buh due to my 3rd class degree , i am not sure i will be admitted by any university into thier Msc programme so chose to apply to a TAFE diploma programme instead with a pathway to degree. Many of the Tafe Institutions i checked online all have numerous agencies here in dubai buh am yet to visit any yet. The expences and tafe tuition fees which i checked online is within my budget of 4million which i have saved so far and i have a bank statement from an uncle who resides in Nigeria and a brother that lives in America too
So i will like to know about my chances of getting the diploma admission considering my age and also if there is any university that will admit me into thier masters programme even if its through pgd with 3rd class 2.3/5.0 cgpa. Please help guys

Thanks so much Sir West. By God's Grace, I shall do my best to make sure he doesn't regret his kindness towards me.
I will support him in any way I can - that's my desire.
Life is not bells of roses anywhere, it's struggling here and there for those of us who has to fend for themselves and tried to create a better future for our unborn children. I don't want my children to suffer what I have suffered as child, adult, student, after school and searching for jobs.
Life in this world can be tiring and difficult. Some people just have it all around them they do not have to suffer nothing.
I don't want to be disturbed. I am focused an never deterred.

WestAfrican:
It's definitely not easy like he stated. In lot of cases one thing has to suffer, either studies or earning money. You may also be able to marry both together if you're a better planner.

Am yet to hear a situation were immigration had to deport someone for over working their hours. Hence, I have seen where some people were stopped from entering the country after going on holidays overseas due to not enrolling for that semester and going over the required work hours.

I am very sure you will be fine in Sydney. Having a place to put your head makes it even better. Do not leave the burden of paying the house rental and other utilities on your brother thereby taking advantage of him. Support him, work with him, respect him, seek advice from him but not him alone.

Godspeed.
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Vincentosa: 10:03pm On Aug 16, 2019
Said it's not easy but that people are surviving it. He said and I quote: "There is never a better time to do great things, nor is there anytime taking risk would be easier but it's solely on the person." He added that I know what I want them I should go for it. As for him, he's willing to render me all housing assistance for the rest of my study period till am strong enough to stand on my own he said.....

The immigration law stipulate you work 20hrs/Fortnight during school section and unlimited hours during your holiday. Am unsure on what visa brought your brother to Australia and how he managed to survive. Having said that, alot of students over work to cover tuition and living expenses which the immigration and school are well aware of.
It becomes a problem when you fail to enrol in a Semester/Trimester without a proper leave of absence from your Uni or you defer numerous times, immigration may want you to give them a compassionate or compelling reason(s) why your visa shouldn't be cancelled.

Ask your brother how foreign students are thriving in Sydney

You too see say my village people tried, but the God of Oyedepo pass them... Lol

I will strongly advice you to go with deakin university offer. You will relate your seamless experience in securing your student Visa here at the end of the day. DHA is very concern about the relationship of your chosen courses in respect of your previous study.
