Presh2021:Did you state that someone was going to sponsor you? |
True, they aren't doing that at all for now. There is high shortage of skilled workers in Australia. Let's hope that they are not thinking in the direction of border closure due to fear of Omicron quote author=Collins605 post=108164952]No need for panick, Australia is not ready to shut down borders to international students https://www.sbs.com.au/news/traveller-who-arrived-in-sydney-from-nigeria-confirmed-as-nsw-s-sixth-omicron-covid-19-case/6456e190-6fc5-49cc-9937-b8090c652234
|
Your GPA is fine. Australia schools doesn't really discrimination against GPA as much. I have not seen any here. I think the worse is that you may be advice to begin with a pgd/ foundation course towards qualifying for the main program. You can check out these few amongst many: university of tasmania, university of south Australia, University of Technology, Queensland, University of Western Sydney, University of Technology, Sydney, University of NSW, Australian Catholic University, Canbera, University of Wollongong, etc. Some of these schools are in Regional area. Australia will be happy to welcome you. |
For some of us who may not know this: Please read!!!! In order to study in Australia, you will need to obtain an Australian student visa. You must be able to prove to the Department of Home Affairs that you meet the following key Australian student visa requirements: Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement Financial requirements English proficiency requirements Health and character requirements Now let us discuss these in detail. Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Introduced in November 2011, The Genuine Temporary Entrant(GTE) says that the visa applicant must be able to demonstrate a genuine intention to stay in Australia temporarily for the purpose of study or to accompany a student as a dependent (i.e. spouse or child) or as a guardian. The decision-makers at the Department of Home Affairs will consider the following factors: Circumstances in your home country Potential circumstances for you in Australia Value of your chosen course to your future Your immigration history Financial Requirements Evidence of sufficient funds to cover tuition, travel, and living costs. From February 2018, the amount you need to prove you have for living costs (separate from tuition and travel) is set at AU$20,290 (~US$15,600) (before 2021) for a year. If you have dependents (such as a spouse and children), you will also need to show evidence of being able to cover living costs for them, including school fees. Alternatively, you can show evidence that your spouse or parents are willing to support you and that they earn at least an AU of $60,000 (~US$46,140) a year (this is not the current value). English Proficiency Requirements If you’re not from an English-speaking country (and haven’t completed at least five years’ study in an English-speaking country) you’ll need to prove you can speak English to the required level. The Department of Home Affairs website lists eligible tests with possibilities being the IELTS, TOEFL, IBT, Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic, and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE). The score you will need will depend on whether you are starting a full degree, doing a foundation course, or enrolling in a preliminary English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS). Health Requirements Some students may be asked to take a medical and/or a radiological check-up to show they’re in good health (this applies, for example, to those who intend to train as a doctor, dentist, or nurse). If told to do so, you must attend an appointment with a doctor who has been approved by the Australian immigration department. Character Requirements Australian student visa requirements stipulate you must be of good character to enter Australia. This includes a criminal record check, to make sure you don’t have a substantial criminal record. You may also need to acquire a penal clearance certificate (or police certificate) or get a police statement and may be asked to complete a Character Statutory Declaration Form. Source: Quora |
Hello folks, Just a quick one. My wife has some properties bought by her parents in her name and his elder brother. Two houses in Abuja and two others outside Abuja. I intend to use the proper document as a supporting document for home ties. My problem is the property documents has my wife's name and that of her brother. Will this be valid for me as a supporting document for home ties? Or I should not use it for Visa application since my name didn't appear in it? Please advice accordingly please. Always appreciate your kind response. |
Very correct. In addition, most Australian Universities will make it somewhat compulsory to get an agent to help them do all the document checks such as academic documents, etc. I have never consulted with an agent since applying to UTS, UNSW, and even now UTAS. It is the school most times that will make it mandatory that at a certain point in the process, one must transfer to an agent. You don't even need an agent to apply for your visa. There is nothing hard in it. They are only interested in the processing fee u pay to them. Some of these guys charge you as much as 250k. Visa fees inclusive. In the end, the school will still pay them for recruiting you to them. I have used two Agents before resident in Australia. I can tell you no kobo was asked from me. But our own here is to bill you just to verify your documents. Not that they will help you with proof of fund oh. Very greedy set of agents we have in Nigeria. |
You need to create Tim for yourself and do detail research. Everyone here are very busy too. While some of us can assist with information, it's your primary responsibility to do research on schools ok!. Nnatuu: |
Hello everyone, Please how do I know if I passed the GTE requirement? UTAS sent me a link to provide answers to the GTE requirements. I did since on the 18th. I was sent a mail stating that they received my uploaded documents and give me feedback in few days. Although, I was also asked to appoint an agent, I have done that. When I checked my portal it says agent appointment : "Assessing". Also, my offer is still showing conditional offer. Thank you all. |

@Mike365, Thank you so much. I am grateful for the well explained answers. Yes my sponsor has the required fund. I had so far uploaded his bank statement of 3months and a letter of sponsorship. We will be adding more documents as they come. Will I need to add his birth certificate since we have the same surname and he's my eldest brother? Mike365: |
I think you have said it all. Does the applicant knows what it will cost him to apply with his family? It favours mostly fully sponsored students either by a school or a renowned organisation to come with their family. Please apply alone. Dependant visa sometimes can be what you can't predict. Note also that covid had impacted negatively on everything about Australia study route. But be positive.
There could be myriad reasons why your agent advised you to exclude them from your application. One of the most common reasons would be ties to your home country. If you are applying with your family, you need to provide a strong evidence of home ties, or else, chances of a visa refusal is high. If you apply alone then your family could stand as home ties. I Hope i am making sense? I don't know what discussions you have had or documents you have provided to your agent, but that is something they might have taken into consideration prior to making a decision. If you believe you have strong home ties, then you could state them here and forum members might be able to advise further. |
Good evening everyone. Congratulations to you all who have been granted study visas. May the good God also do for all of us who are yet to receive visa grants. Please I will need your opinion on this. I applied to the University of Tasmania in July this year for the master of Information technology and systems, in less than 5days I was offered admission. However, I was a little busy with work and I didn't have time to respond to further documentation and plus the fact that the border was not seen to be opened previously. I decided to accept my offer a few days ago. Note that my senior brother who leaves in Australia has offered to sponsor the entire program for me, and he forwarded a guarantee/sponsor letter and his bank statement of the sum of 167k+AUD. While filling the GTE form attached, I indicated I was a sponsored student. Then I was prompted to select the category of my sponsor from the list. I selected "others" since it is an individual sponsorship and not from the government and or some organization. I uploaded the documents in accepting the offer. After a few minutes, I saw on my page that "Payment-Waived". Please see the attached document. I do not understand what they meant by "Payment-Waived". Please if you can kindly help to throw more light. Thank you. I have a few questions. 1. Will I be required to also submit a personal bank statement? 2. If yes, how much is expected for me to have in the account? 3. I am married with a son. Although I am applying alone for now. The aim is to apply for them once I receive my visa grant. My wife is working with one of the Fed Govt agencies. I have also submitted her employment letter and pension statement as well as mine for evidence of employment.

Congratulations to you. |
How true is this? What leads to the loss of your money? How are they fraudulent? Please your explicit explanation will help us know what to do next. Thank you kennylyn: |
Petrelli112:It can be more expensive without a scholarship. Recall you are not paying at once. you may be given a payment plan to enable you to complete your payment. In all, I don't think it's bad. |

I was offered master of Professional Engineering (Cybersecurity) by the University of Technology, Sydney sometimes in July 2019. Fortunately, my wife delivered in September the same year. Due to the need for me to support her during the early times, I deferred the admission to commence study in Feb 2021. Unfortunately, Covid 19 came and I was again compared to defer a second time. The 25% tuition discount I earlier got was nolonger applicable since I had defer the admission for that academic year. I have a brother in Sydney and he is a citizen. He is my sponsor and had given me a statement of account sometimes in 2019 with a balance of 120kAUD. Recently, UTS mailed me to commence my study online. But I declined stating that my current job responsibilities wouldn't permit me to give the need time and concentration. My reason was accepted. I made some research on the chances of get nomination after studies. I read that to get nomination easily, its best to school in the regional area. Frankly speaking, my intent is to stay back after my studies. During my research I also found out that Sydney has jobs for Students but its an expensive city. Now I have decided to start a fresh application to UNISA for data science (Master). My questions are: 1. Do you advice that I continue with UTS? 2. Do you advice that I simply go ahead with UNISA for fresh application? 3. UTS is an AL1 sch, but UNISA is AL2. What is the chances of get student visa? 4. I have been denied non immigrants visa sometimes in 2015 by US embassy. Will this impact my application? NB: the green paper they gave me for the reason for refusal is missing. All effort to get it has not been successful. But I have application document I made to attend a conference in the US that year. 5. My agent advice that I have atleast a minimum of 10m in my account even though the tuition would be paid by my sponsor. How can this impact my visa if I don't have such amount? 6. My intention is to go alone and maybe after one year when I have been able to gather myself my family of two can join me. Is this a good move? 7. I know Australia border might not be opening until early or mid next year. Your candid input and counsel will be highly appreciated. Thank you |

Good evening, This is Urgent please Do you have PRINTHEAD for Fargo DTC4500e ? If yes how much? How do I get it in Abuja? |
Eladua:You are a kind man. Please keep this up. |
Softkey:Get ready to undergo English class for about 3months @AUD $4000. Mark my word. I am speaking from experience.... |
MCPB:Who says you can not be issued transcript? What school is that please? Anyways, if you are working, you can request that the transcript to sent to your office where you work, thereafter you can collect it and scan to your school. I know the school will still want you to send them a copy. Simply request another copy from your school to be sent directly to Australia by giving your school in Nigeria the aussie uni address ok. It is not anyway a hard rock to break. Additionally, Universities in Australia doesn't care if you had a previous M.sc. they are interested in your foreign doll!!!! |
Ufodeking:It will be difficult to get Aussie Uni that will accept 5.5 band on your English test. I know the minimum is 6.5 with no band less than 6.0, while in PTE its 60 with no band less than 50. |
@Softkey, Thanks so much. I was really worried? Thanks |
tush1986:Congratulations to you. May God do for us as he did for you. Pls I have sent you a mail. Pls let's talk |
I was filling my acceptance form to uts, I got to a point where they asked about Visa refusal in the past. The instruction says I must contact the school before I proceed. I have been refused a visa by US embassy in October 2015, wanted to attend a conference sponsored by my office but it was refused. Now I wrote to the school as instructed. They sent me this. Please our experienced bosses here how do I go about the reply. Thanks |
Ruben225571:Any university in Australia has tuition scholarships for Int'l students. Simply research the one that you like and that you meet the requirements. |
Ruben225571:University of Technology, Sydney. If you have a CGPA of at least 3.0 you may qualify. |
Please a quick one. Will I be requested to submit SOA during Visa application for an AL1 university? I have a sponsor who resides in the state where my intended school is. I have gotten admission with a 25% tuition discount already but had to deferred till July as I couldn't gather the first deposit. Hopefully am sure to pay the deposit latest by March. Please someone share his or her experience with Visa application on AL1 school? Will be very helpful pls. |
