you cannot assess as a Data Analyst with ACS with an Economics degree. You need a computer science degree. You would have been able to but you will need at least 6-8 years experience for ACS to deduct to substitute for non relevant degree

English test.
What occupation are you assessing with acs? How many years of work experience do you have as at today? What is your points score 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 or 100?

189 nomination was cool towards the end of last year and sometimes at the first quarter of this year. No one knows what it will become later this year. Because at those times I mentioned, 65 above got nomination on 189. But I must tell you IT occupations are super competitive and very hard to get nomination these days especially for Skill Level 1 IT occupations.
Some people like my self had to go through Trade recognition Australia to assess as ICT Technician nec 313199 even after waiting for 2yrs at 80pts as System analyst (skill level one occupation) between 2021/2023.
But the moment I opt for trade occupation, in just 7days I got nomination from NSW for 190 @ 85 points.

I am not trying to discourage you about 189, but to have plan B should the 189 becomes tough again. You can as well create EOI for all visa subclass one for each for each state.

There are a lot of Indians who has got beautiful IT work experience, studied here, got 90+ points but unfortunately, they are not getting invite on 189 or even 190. Some state are stringent with 190 while others do not. NSW and ACT are liberal with 190, but not SA, WA, and NT as well as QLD.

So, please work around creating EOI for 491 as well. This visa class is not bad. Some people who go about talking down on it simply do not have one.

Note: I am onshore and still studying at a uni.

All the best.

Hello House,

I would like to submit my CDR + Experience assessment for a chemical engineering role to Engineers Australia.

The problem is that the job designation in my employment letter and payslips does not match with the Chemical Engineering Profession.
designation in my offer letter and payslips is Procurement Engineer (Production/Process) while my job experience for 5 years is Process Engineer (Which is also a chemical engineer). I was given the role of chemical engineer in the procurement Dept without changing the designation in my payslips and offer letter for about 5 years now. Please how can I claim the 5 years of experience, please how do i clarified to EA regarding my chemical engineering experience? Are there any documents I can use to replace the Offer letter & Payslips?

Please someone with experience should help and respond to my questions
Did you check with some of the states to be sure Chem Engr is on the list?

The two visas are handled by two different units. One in South Africa and the other in Australia.

As you have shown that you want to remain for the long term, it will be hard convincing those in South Africa that you are on GTE. Notwithstanding, it can still be done.

One of the things people do is to include yourself in the application which will cancel your original visa and issue a bridging visa till it is determined. If done that way, the application is treated locally and decision will hsve right of appeal. However, it cannot be done in your case because you already have an ongoing 491. If you do it, your 491 becomes invalid, from knowledge, you cannot make two applications as the principal applicant at the same time (things might have changed).

I will encourage you to let them understand for the purpose of the subsequent entrant, you need to see your family after long time. Put in the connection your wife still has with Nigeria e.g her job, landed property etc.

Goodluck
Thank you once again @bellong,
Yea, we are trying to see if we are able to convince the south African people irrespective of the 491 visa pending for grant.
My current visa will expire by Aug 30th 2024. It just the way they currently treats 491 visa application. Especially one that is not in health occupation. It's very disheartening to see that after they collect almost $10k AUD for the visa application only for them to start prioritizing some and leaving majority of others to decay in their system.
They really need to look into justice and fairness considering that even after prioritizing one occupation over another, the shortages in the non prioritized occupation will continue to be there...
I learnt that the recent allocation strategy was to ensure that they don't get to accept too many new applications while there are still thousands of pending ones whose docs had probably expires.

It's a dicey one because the GTE for 500 SE visa will negative the 491 application. You should have applied for the subsequent entrant before 491. Two options: first is apply for the SE visa (there is a 50 % chance you might get it). Indicate you have missed them and you would like them to join.
2nd option: wait till it's granted. Follow up with calls. If you can contact your MP or Senator, visit them or email them to explain your situation.
Okay, thank you so much

Good evening house,

Please I want to confirm, that police character report is not compulsory for visa application.

Please can anyone confirm this, if you have applied without it before .
I remembered I applied with it, but it was not required for student visa. That was 2022 April. Check with the person assisting you to process the visa. But I will advise if you have the means to do it, pls try to get it.

Hello @Bellong,
I need some opinions from you and anyone who may have been on this situation before.
I am currently in my 3rd semester for my master degree program here in NSW, I have a family of 3 back in Naija. I haven't been able to apply for subsequent entrant visa for them because of pof.
However, in Feb this year I got nominated for 491 and have since submitted the visa including my family (wife and 2children). But you know how they treat 491 visa application especially if they are not medical occupation. It can take forever with them. Terrible bad to know that they accepted huge visa fees but will never attend to your visa application.
Now, I have secured the funds to commence the subsequent entrant visa for my family. I have started it already but I have some fears regarding how to explain the aspect of our 491 visa application in her GTE statement considering the fact that this subsequent entrant visa subclass 500 is a temporary visa. Now we have indicated that we want to migrate to Australia since we have earlier submitted 491.

What do I do from here please? Anyone have been in this situation before? Please help.

TRA is a minimum of 12 weeks before you start to worry.
In fact it can take even more than that. Budget 5months patience on your assessment application. It will likely come out around the first week of the 6th month.

Hello All,

I am new here & am making enquires on behalf of my Husband
Please, what are his chances in this Australia skilled workers.

Hubby is 41yrs of age
Graduated from FUTO 2016
Studied Mechanical engineering
Has over 15yrs of experience in Mec. Eng.
On the skilled list I saw Mechanical engineer ANZSCO code 233512

Wife has a Bsc Marketing
With 5yrs experience in Sales & Marketing

Questions?
Do you see this flying Sirs?
Under Australia qualifying framework, (AQF) what tier is FUTO ranked?
Also, can he apply for a level one occupational assessment?
Will He get a positive assessment?
Also, please what's CDR?

I don't know how to go about the assessment cos I just stumbled on this page & and am still reading and gathering information.

Your advice & response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
Please note that only employment after Graduation is considered skilled employment when you lodge your assessment application. So if your spouse graduated in 2016, and he has been working thereafter, only this segment of his employment will be considered important.
Do not include any employment before his graduation from uni in your assessment application and that of your EOI.

Hello guys,
I recently received invitation for 491 visa from NSW (onshore). However, I also lodged eoi for 190 just few days ago as I complete compulsory 6months stay and continues stay in nsw. Now I want to know if it matters to use the same email address I used in the eoi for 491. I really want 190 due to family size. If I were single or we don't have kids yet I would probably just take the 491. But I only accepted it and just waiting the next 60days to see when my 190 invite will drop. I have the faith it will drop. Do I create another eoi with a different email address instead? Or it doesn't matter if I use the same email ID for different EOI account? Pls your advice is needed from anyone who has had similar experience...

That's not true. You can do Master's in Australia with a third class. Please do not go for the pre-masters/foundation course.
Your agent told you a big FAT lies. I know someone with just 2.50 cgpa in his first degree, who got admission into two universities in Australia.
1. University of Technology, Sydney
2. University of Tasmania, Hobart.

In fact he was even given a tuition discount scholarship of about 25%. Please do not listen to the agent. If you are yet to apply to any institution, kindly email me.
All these agents that are hustling their commission will not let somebody make progress. Please run from that agent ok..

I had to send them mail for reminder to one Nurse Stephen. So, no worries. Once they complete your review it will be upload or updated.

Please do you know if the denial letter usually come with date? Or is just a routine letter designed for the purpose? I am asking so that I can find a way to get from someone if possible? Or can just tell them I misplaced it on transit. It's been a while anyways.

Hi FAM,

Please my health assessment on my immi account is showing this.

"A panel clinic is currently processing this person's health examination(s) in eMedical. This screen will be updated once this person's case has been submitted to the department for processing. This may not occur until all results are finalised after the person has left the clinic. Ongoing delays should be followed up with the clinic in relation to the progress of your health examination results. Do not contact the department about this matter".

Please any hint on what am suppose to do, because I did my health 3 days ago and what is the turnaround time for IOM.

Please someone should reply
IOM is still working on your health report. Once they submit all necessary information about your health examination it will changed to "no action required". This will take 3 to 4 days max, depending on when the health examination was conducted! Just be patient.

I hope you submitted :
1. Your COVID 19 vac evidence
2. B-OPV (polio vac) yellow card evidence?

No, they don't. However, the process takes max 2 days from their end.

Your visa status should move from submitted to received, then initial assessment etc.
Hope this helps
I think mine has been on initial assessment since I paid for the visa application.

I have read the previous threads, to be honest everything is just confusing. If there is some kind step to guide me or something. No matter how you claim to know somethings, you were still guided by someone. What is wrong with asking for help? Do you want me to claim that I know it all when I don't know jack shit about this immigration process? I have done my own research, but it is still a little bit confusing. All I need is for someone to answer my questions, so I won't make avoidable mistakes.
Ok, fine. What do you want to do? Note that this thread is for student migration guide for Australia only. If that is clear, kindly provide answers to the following:
1. Have you found university/College in Australia that offers your desired course of study?

2. Have you gone through some of the threads that applies to you?

3. What have you put together for this pursuit?

Now,
Start by searching for a university or college you wish to go, understand their requirements etc.

From my experience its safer to declare everything with Australia immigration. I was pregnant when I applied and i stated it in my GTE. The only thing is I couldn't do my chests xray till I had my baby just few weeks before grant came so please declare all
You can... I stand to be corrected though.
Your candid advice is the best way to go. Declare, declare, declare, and declare everything. Else, if they get to find out themselves, you will most likely to get NJL! By then they would have started doubting you. So, please declare everything you need to declare.

There are alot of fully funded Scholarships particularly for research subjects. But for you to have gotten an acceptance letter, its expected by now you know what the program will provide you in terms of sponsorships etc.
What school is it? Send me a mail. I can assist.

Good afternoon every1, please i have some questions concerning Australia school.
I am on application for Master of Research in one Australia university and i applied for research particularly because of Research training program/ Higher degree research Scholarship. I got a supervisor, infact she gave me a letter of support already.
But letter they ask me to go apply through agent? Well i haven't answer yet because the agent themselves were telling me they dont know about any full Scholarship in Australia.
Is that true? I ask the university they were just redirecting back to the scholarship page which i can only find those $3000 $6000 and 50%. And i dont want to pay over 200k to agent at the end of the day i won't be able to proceed if there is no funding.

So my is.... all this Australia graduate program how did they used to do it. Is it true there is no full funded scholarship.
If i pay the agent is there a possibility of getting scholarship offer at all.
If i want to consider the partial funding (50%). Please how did Nigerians used to go about it please.

Yet people keep telling me i shouldn't give up the opportunity ooo because getting a supervisor is not easy. I know but funding too is important please share more light.

I am not a rich person in any way, i am going to finish my nysc this month that's why i am prioritizing the little amont saved with me be4 i blew it up.

Sorry about your refusals. But have you taken time to review the causes of the refusals from these countries you mentioned? It will be another high risk putting in application for study visa without having to rectify the risk those visa officers has seen in your previous applications. I would strongly advice you look into that. Otherwise the Australia Immi will see you as been desperate to leave your country. That is just my personal views. I am not an immigration lawyer.

That is how those terrible agents are. How on earth can he tell you to enrol for a bridging English course?
Please DO NOT TRY IT. kindly prepare well for your PTE and forget the bridging course. Pte will cost you a token of N74k while the bridging course will cost you between N2,050,000 to N2,200,000. Even if you had to take the pte 5times, it won't cost u 2m.
Be wise oh.

All these agent people sef. Thank God for Nairaland.

Is there anyone who has received a visa grant with a bridging English course? My agent told me that since my PTE is not up to the required score for the school, I can apply for the bridging course for 10 weeks before moving to my chosen master's. Right,
It's ok if you don't agree. My views were based on the response I got from the agent who processed the admission at UC, the agent resides in Australia.

EngrCGD:
Baba I disagree with you on this, the truth is that these schools know that we are using the school as a medium to cross over and that’s why they charge such huge amount for international students and this is applicable to all schools in other countries all over the world , once you are an international student and you are not a citizen or PR holder, the school will make money from you as well generate revenue for their government.

Nothing like high risk because you left the school or change to much cheaper school there or even change course, even the schools know that this is the normal format nah, how you wan pay 97.000 AUD for a 2 year program or even 47,000 AUD for a year Tuition ? Nobody go pay that except folks from a rich home.

Tertiary institutions is not suppose to be too expensive as international student but if the country must favor you in future, then you must bring something to the table as you dey enter.

Do you know how cheap the citizens or those with PR pays for a Tuition for same course we international students pay heavily for ?

So nothing like flagging us cos we dey do the needful. If there is any such thing as flagging from school then nobody will enter Australia again.

If you know how cheap you can pay for a year tuition while in Australia already, you go marvel. But try use such schools to apply from here, your chances of getting a grant is slim or even rejection.

If the school decided to flag you or reject you, they judged your case as an individual not as a country.

Yes Nigeria is a high risk country based on other factors but not cos we dey change course or school, other immigrants/ students from other countries does same.
