Pls der ar lots of schools u can apply to. R u searchin for GTA or grant or scholarship? If u ar, den it may be hard buh it is not IMPOSSIBLE. Jus keep searchin. If u ar sendin ursef(if u av a sponsor as parent) den u can apply, dey can give u

Pls i need ur advice. Am an applicant for Masters in Electrical engr. I wrote GRE few wks ago but my score: Verbal- 145 and Quantitative- 149; analytical was 3.0. I had a low score cos i wrk and didn't plan well enuf. Tho i saw som skuls dat accept my score bt am afraid dey wil choose peeps wif better score ahead of me. So am tinking of retaking d test. Wat do u tink

Try schools dat say gre not compulsory buh highly recomended. Rememba admsn aint jus gre buh all d requirements( reference, SOP, toefl, cgpa, etc) moreover, early application is somtimes considered bfor late app. U can get it, it's all in God's hands. I tink U'l b fyn if oda requiremnts are really strong. Wish u best!

bodeplot: wow!!! many thanks to @imperiouxx, Yvete and Virgin ice for there help to my questions.However,the school didnt specify the number of words or pages as well as line spacing, i av done a 2pager,with single line spacing and concerning writing sample virgin ice, i av written on my research, can i as well write anoda one just u did about the school,what my work would do for naija and equipment used many thanks again

I don't undstnd u but all those stuff I stated wer in my SOP. If ur work is related to chem eng, u can if u want to write equipmnt. Wat I wrote abt KU(sch) was very brief too.

I think u shuld write a detailed SOP and give som pipu u really respect to help edit it, den go tru d school's requirement because imperiouxx said it all. They mostly require ow many words buh if ur school did nt specify(like mine) den u shudnt make it too lengthy(2pages) buh it shud b detailed. Ur course is in line wit mine, I wrote on my research, IT, n all d equipements I know ow to use. Also on d school(KU), and wat my research go do for naija peeps. As for emailing profs, I emailed 5peeps relevant to my proposed research requestin to b my supervisor (somtimes dey may reply) none replied me buh I tink dey all knew. pls go ahead, it worked for 3peeps I knw includin me. Try uni of wyoming (gre requirement for masters 291, phd 308 toefl speakin (or listenin) 24, etc for scholarship

D main tin is 'We all' shud pick d best program dat YOU want personally and go for it. B sure of wat u want so dat wen u get der, u will perform n b proud of ursef, if not one may not even achieve d main aim of travelling, except one is jus doin it cos odas r or u bin told to by parents. For gre test takers dat stil av tym to study bfor d test date, try. "cracking the revised version" by princeton. I used it for d verbal aspect most, it was helpful. For those going for phd, folo ur heart and wen u get to d river, u wee cross afterall d pipu doin der phd direct don't av 2 HEADS and dey r surviving. Am 25yrs and I can't wait to start doin research and experience it all cos I bliv it will b fun. Der is nothing like doing wat u want and succeedin @ it. So house, stop all d controversy abt masters and phd instead let's focus on getting evribody to der destination...wat I love abt naija peeps is der spirit to succeed, e dey ginger me As for d cgpa tingy, pls go to google and if u no 'all' ur result and course codes n topics u will b able to convert ur gp to 4.0. I converted mine wc was a 4.29/5.0 ~ 3.2/4.0 so goodluck wit d conversion tingy :'

I wrote gre buh it wasnt compulsory instead optional(like d sch will say) It was part f d docx I sent to dem. Av only received d mail like I said stating d offer I got n I accepted d ofa.

@winbyforce, I was nt interviewed. Applied usually, with GRE n TOEFL. I sent mails to 5 lecturers dat I can carry out my research under ther supavision for review of my docx, dis musta helped cos I was persistent n dese lecturers r d board dat decide. Some pipu go tru d interview u spoke abt buh only on rare cases except d school specify dat u must, wc adly hapns.

Hello house, never knew about this thread until a fwd sent me d link. Read most of the post n it has bin educative and interesting so far. I found myself glued to my fone and laughing alone too I just gained admission to KU for fall. I av nt done anytin except to accept d admsn for phd. Am overwhelmed n can't wait to start d neccessary preparation/documentation needed to go for interview. Pls som1 shud enlighten me.
